Not really confirmed yet but IGN posted a rather interesting article of Nintendo's next gaming system http://wii.ign.com/articles/113/1135489p1.html?_cmpid=ign40 Thoughts?
Wii 2 (?)
-
-
My thoughts are it's IGN so worthless.
-
IGN: hey we need something to talk about…LETS MAKE AN ARTICLE ON SOMETHING WE HAVE NO FACTS ON WHATSOEVER
(aside from the fact that all 3 major systems already have some kind of work being done for their followups, there's nothing to talk about)
-
you can't spell ignorant without ign.
etc etc.
-
The five-year timeline theory is kind of interesting.
But yeah, IGN.
-
What is IGN?
-
Idiotic
Game-related
Nonsense
-
Ah, makes sense.

Jokes about IGN aside, it is about time for another Nintendo system ain't it?
-
I'm pretty sure they will soon. If their system could sustain HD graphics, they might compete more with PS3 and XBox. Possibly with more accurate controls too, that would be nice.
-
I just hope it isn't literally a "Wii 2" and I can transfer my original gangsta shit from my Nintendo Wii.
-
Backwards compatibility is what Sony and Microsoft didn't do so well. Perhaps Nintendo will realize this and actually do it.
-
I'd rather see them concentrate on the Wii and 3DS a lil more rather (maybe a year and a half or two) before bringing out another Home Console.
Maybe give us a Yoshi game on the Wii? Pikmin 3 needs to be brought out too lol. Do them two and I'll be happy to jump to the next console.

Yeah, I never noticed that before. Cool little pattern.
But I say we have another year to go, mainly because of Skyward Sword.
I don't see them pulling a Twilight Princess on us again. -

Well, the Wii is already backward compatible with all Gamecube games, so in a manner of speaking, Nintendo pretty much ahead of both Microsoft and Sony in that department. I don't see the next console NOT supporting it.

Exactly. That is the one thing I dislike about Microsoft and Sony. I usually prefer older games anyway, and I was really upset when I could not play my Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 on my new 360. And then there's the fact that only one version of the PS3 exists that can play PS2 games. I don't even think they make those anymore.
One day I will actually buy a Wii, when I can afford one. Problem is, I don't care for a lot of Wii games in general. On the other hand, the only reason I would want one is so i can play old games. Maybe someday.

$10 says it's going to be called "Poo".
Ha. Kidding.
But I hope they take their time with this, but knowing how business can be, I doubt it.
As long as they don't make a ton of crappy rip-off games for it like they did for the Wii. -
Whoa.. I didn't know Nintendo released a system every 5 years.
Thanks IGN.

But yeah, IGN.
Seriously, you guys hadn't realized the five-year thing before?
I'd dub this article worthless, timeline included.
-
If there is a Wii 2, I hope it's less underwhelming than the Wii was. There weren't really that many games that I found to be that interesting, save for a few.
-
I just hope they have a proper online funtion. Multiple friend codes blow.
-
I hope they give the next Smash Bros. game proper online.
-
I hope they give the next Smash Bros. game proper online.
Ah, that'd be good.
Anyways, I actually never noticed the whole five years = new console thing, but I was expecting a new one to be in development.
As a big Nintendo fan, color me interested.
-
I just hope they have a proper online funtion. Multiple friend codes blow.
Bah! I hope they improve that, too…
I hope they give the next Smash Bros. game proper online.
And this. Gah, even the slightest lag can ruin any fighting game.
-
Really though, how do you get lag trying to fight a friend who lives no more than 10-15 minutes away.

That's never happened to me.
I've had lag fighting people farther away, however.

that article was the journalistic equivalent of smelling your own farts and trying to convince someone that there's a turkey in the oven
-
The Wii two huh?
