the best thing about that chapter was seeing Isidro do something, now for Serpico to kick some sea god ass alongside gutts

Ok, Raw is out.
Seems like an uneventful chapter, but who knows, since it's 100% dialogue and I don't know a damn thing of japanese. So let's wait untill translation is out.
-
Translated chapter 317 is out.
-
Alright, another Guts and Schierke tag team battle, this is gonna be so awesome. Time for Guts to slice up Cthulhu.
-
Woot scanned chapter is out:)
! I was hoping Schierke and Farnese would combine their magic together to try and penetrate the armor but this was great too. Farnese gets her magical debut^^

This post is deleted!

I really liked this chapter. The interactions with the supporting characters made it really enjoyable, and I'm glad the new girl is gonna join the party. Hopefully this island arc wraps up before he goes on another hiatus.
-
chapter was better than the previous one.
-
I enjoyed this chapter, and it even looks like this island arc might wrap up in the next few chapters. Maybe Casca can actually get her mind back soon!
-
Would I be evil in saying that I don't want casca to get her mind back?

Not really, considering that it's highly possible that she doesn't want to get it back.
By returning her to normal, Guts is forcing her to bear the burden of what happened. …And it's a pretty damn big burden. Guts trying to bring her to her senses may turn out to be a selfish act rather than a selfless one.

I can totally see this backfiring on guts, but it would be interesting for casca with memories intact learn about what's been happening by listening to the others. The upside to casca being normal again would be her combat ability if memory serves me correctly she was basically second to guts and griffith.

How are you not bored of retard Casca by now.

Twenty More Volumes Of Casca Arbitrarily Running Around And Grunting Please!!!

Yeah, I'm sure Caska likes being a drooling spaz. In fact, Guts should selflessly leave her in the state she is now, let her happily live out the rest of her life counting bugs and having her ass wiped by strangers. Maybe build her a nice cottage somewhere close to the sea, buy her a little pet bunny so she won't be lonely. Perhaps after a while she'll start to like Guts enough and they can have cute retard sex.

Basically! .

Nice chapter. About time Farneze is gonna do something useful.
And do I recall correctly someone in this forum actually predicting that the Light Child had something to do with the full moon??
Anyways, another chapter before November ends. . .so good so far!!! Keep it up, Miura!
-
Casca's been retarded for like, 10 years now. Its long past time for that plot thread to end.
But yeah, returning her to sanity might not be the best thing for Guts.
-
@JERK:

If every thing she was apart of served no purpose to the series than yes i'd be bored with it.
Do I want the old bad ass casca back? hell yeah
My biggest concern is, could she hold her own against fantasy creatures and Apostles, I only ask this because when she was fighting Wylad she almost got raped, while during the eclipse she hold her own for a little bit than got over powered easily. My point is; is casca going to be a great help for them or is she just going to be the damsel in distress for guts?

Isidro and Farnese…
-
@VL7:
Isidro and Farnese…
You got a point there, I would agree with Isidro but Farnese? When the hell has she done anything? My memory on this series is bad but I don't recall her doing anything major besides helping casca out.

I think that's his point. If Isidro and Farnese can survive, so can Caska.

That is about to change dramatically, as you can see in the latest chapter. But thats really beside the point. My point was that compared to those two in Guts' group, Caska would be a major help. Hell, she'd probably be on par with Serpico as far as battle prowess goes, minus the strategic genius thing. Though it may take some time for her to regain some muscle mass.

Just give her a magic weapon. No stock of magic weapons left? Hmm. . .theeen. . .She can also learn magic. You know, since girls are allways either magic users or "very fast and agile but weak".
OR she could be a multi-class warrior-mage; since she is human, she ignores the xp penalty for being multiclass.
-
Whatever happened to that magic weapon Guts refused to use? Did they leave that behind or take it with them anyways?
-
My point is; is casca going to be a great help for them or is she just going to be the damsel in distress for guts?
Well she can't possibly be more of a burden or a damsel than she is now, so gaining her sanity back can only help. Then she might not need someone protecting her ever constant second and Guts won't have to worry as much or risk going berserk.
-
This may be just me, but I think Guts got his design changed agian… on the face I mean.
Great buildup chapter. It's nice to see that fetus again.

His face just has a calm and serene look to it,that's all, it's a side of guts that we have rarely seen and thus looks like the author is trying to draw him differently.

I didn't agree to disagree

As far as battle prowess goes she still has it, hell even in her current state she beat the crap out of a group of guys.

It was the Gnome Axe, and yeah, they left it behind because it was too big and no one could really make use of it but Guts - who already had his Dragonslayer. But hey, they ARE going to Elfheim. If they're going to find any magical powerups, that'd be the place!
Of course, I miss the bad-ass Caska. I think it'll be interesting to see how Caska recovering herself will totally and entirely change the group dynamic. Farnese is going to be in for a surpriiiiiiise.
-
I love Farnese. She's so awesome. She was a regular spoiled rich girl who has always been chained by her family's name causing her to always hide herself from danger whilst building up stress and frustration that she could only vent out with destruction. She became deluded into what her path should be and has walked that path without thinking for herself and even thinking it was right because that was the only thing she could do. Then she met Guts and her world majorly expanded. Now she tries so hard to matter and be useful to and be a part of the team. And it's so awesome seeing her slowly but steadily accomplish her goals. From finding someone to protect weaker than herself to taking the initiative to better herself in the most ludicrous, unexpected way to when she finally realized she was an integral part of a team and a family that actually cares about her. And now she's about to take the next step and it's so heart-warming to see her get so far when we know exactly how low she began. You just can't help cheer for her. Go Farnese!!!
-
^I love Farnese cause fire makes her horny.
Especially if there's something smoldering in the middle of it

Oh new chapters. Great ^^
anyways.
Does anyone else find Locus' weapon and attack uncomprehensible?
Don't get me wrong, I do realize Berserk is a fantasy fiction manga. It is just that to be able to pierce multiple opponents with that very long lance and to be able to retract it while moving forward or just staying at stationary position without extending his arm, I just find it ridiculous.
I understand the logic with Guts' or Zodd's ability to wield humongous swords or with Femto/Griffith's mysterious power of pseudo invincibility but with Locus' lance attack and his ability to retract it without stepping back, it definitely does not make any sense.
-
Yes, it pretty much defies the laws of nature, sin against god, yes.
But it's COOL.
Also, he's an Apostle.
-
Who's Locus? I've said this time and time again my memory with this series is hazzy.
-
Locus is one of the knights who pledge allegiance to Griffith. He is the guy with the long lance.
-
I just wish they would finally get to Elfheim. This whole seamonster stuff feels annoyingly like filler material especially with the series moving as slow at it is. I just dont see what the current chapters add to the story.. )-:

You mean other than expanding upon the world, possibly introducing a new character, giving Farnese her big magic debut, examine Gut's child and provide an all around interesting transition arc before the gang learn about Falconia?
-
@Thousand:

yeah, other than that..
To be honest, I could have done without this part of the world expansion unless it later turns out to be relevant.
Also I do not overvalue new characters (assuming you talk about isma) at the moment due to the fact that guts is doing basically everything on his own at the moment anyway with everybody else standing around awestruck. Regarding farnese I would have been fine seeing her starting her training at the beginning of the journey and finding out more about the fruits of her endeavour at a later stage and regarding guts child I was fine with the appearance at the last full moon. -
I think the purpose of this arc might also include about the mermaid girl will probably join the crew.
Wait… what manga is this? No, I had it right. That was kinda weird though...
-
Well its not like there's anything left at that island that would keep her back. The part about Guts travelling alone was the worst so I'm fine with him build up his little Band of the Guts. A charakter like him needs more than one counterweight to keep the series at a neutral depressing/cheering level. Welcome aboard
Camie -

Wait… what manga is this?
.It's one piece, island full of adventure. A crew with weird power or abnormal strength and a new crew member.
-
I was fine with the appearance at the last full moon.
Oh so you're just done with this completely unresolved plot point, just through. Had a nice run it did.
Don't post, because it's hurting my brain with how thick you are.

Skypeia is filler too, don't you know.
-
Hey man I was fine the last time Skull Knight showed up, did we really need to see him again?
I mean some people might think never seeing again or explaining a giant ghostly skeleton armor suit that knows a bunch of things is bad writing, but I'm like, dumb? So whatev.
-
guess I wasnt clear enough. I mean obviously I am still interested in what role the fetus is going to play within the story but I feel like it it could have reappeared at a different occasion as well. So just because it appeared during the seamonster arc doesnt mean I have to like the whole thing.
BTW, I love Skypeia.
-
I still need 25,000 more words typed for my story by the end of the month.
I couldn't pick a shittier time to start reading this series.
Finished volume 2, will marathon read once I get my priorities in order. -
Forget the paper…Continue reading it, now Cuddles.
-
Wow that sucks, and i hate getting 7 page papers… which I'm doing right now since I saved it for te very last two days I could possibly work on it... procrastination it's an art, and I am the artist.... you should try to, Read Berserk screw the paper do it last minute
-
What? No! No, that is TERRIBLE ADVICE!
Don't ditch out on a paper for a manga that won't be finished in at least the next 8 years!
Do your paper.
Berserk will still be around, I assure you.
-
I'm fairly certain he's talking about the novel contest thing that he's doing.
