I know this is off-topic but does anyone else besides me love the science behind manga?
Haha, totally. It's such an average joe understanding of science, but I think it's better that way. It's a good mix of reality and fiction.

I think it is cool. They mix the science in it but change some facts for the OP world. When I first saw 2nd Gear Luffy I was hoping they gave an actual reason. Not that he just powers up out of the blue.
Thankfully Blueno came in and said he was pumping blood through his body. His blood was going fast enough to burst his heart, but he was made of rubber so it didn't. That is actually pretty close to the facts.
Many energy drinks like 5 hour energy are used so people won't have a tired feeling and keep going.
They usually contain Niacin. Niacin runs a risk of increasing blood flow towards the skin. If a person is sensitive to Niacin the blood will speed up enough to actually turn the skin a red or pink color.
They really came up with a great theory for 2nd gear. It was so close to actual facts.
how strong do you think smoker has gotten and do you think he has learned haki
LOL, if something is faster then light, great job Oda, should've paid attention in physics.
Seriously though, people wanting something faster then light to appear in the manga just want it so they can say "OMFG, this totally makes sense, Oda you are a beast". Maybe Oda will come up with a dark matter man, I think Blackbeard doesn't count for this.
My question: How did Rayleigh get his scar?

teleporting is faster than light we just don't have teleportation in our world the real world
kuma pritty much has goku from dragonballz power that he used to teleport cell away from earth to that other dudes planet so he did not blow earth up
Is there a place where I can read all the SBSs?

@Devil:
1. For anyone to be faster than Kizaru, they'd need some kind of devil fruit. I can't think of any devil fruit which would fit the bill, unless there's one devoted to pure speed. And don't give me that, "but Kizaru moves at the speed of light and nothing can move faster than that." He does NOT actually move at the speed of light. If he did, Rayleigh and Whitebeard would not have been able to intercept his movements.
It's my impression that while Kizaru can and will move at the speed of light, his brain doesn't. For a haki user, observation will allow for ample reaction time.
Someone faster than Kizaru? The answer is obviously Hawkins. He even had time to see kick coming at the speed of light. Isn't that something?
And yes, I don't seriously mean this. It's just that the speed of light is much 'slower' in mangas than in real life.
Wasn't there a Whitebeard's division commander that laughed at Kizaru's "speed of light"?
how strong do you think smoker and tasigi will be and do you think smoker will have learned haki
I have a question about Luffy's first time meeting Black Beard, when Nami asked who he was,
Luffy : it's not "he" Zoro : it's "they" … probably
What was it that they meant by they?
Probably has to do with the same reason Blackbeard could absorb Whitebeard's DF.

Now a lot of people are going to tell you those theories that Blackbeard has like a conjoined twin or something else that has to do with him being able to get more than one fruit. However I believe they simply meant that he has a crew on the island, that he seems like a pirate who would have a strong crew nearby.

I thought it was safe to assume that Luffy and Zoro were talking about Blackbeard's crew, the guy with apples and such.
If it is a conjoined twin or something, that would be stupid.

probly talking about his crew
Way too ambiguous, there is something behind that "they" scene.
The "They" scene is about his crew. Luffy, zoro and nami saw/heard Jesus Burgess, then doc Q with the apple.
That could've very well been the case, but considering how Oda does things that was way too much focus and little clarity for them to just be refering to the doc and the others. Along with Marco giving that odd statement about Teach it just seems all connected to me. Just like the haki statement regarding Luffys bounty being referenced again from jaya to impel down, just appears Oda is once againweaving another mystery together with something he had planned for years. Or not, time will tell.
Yea there's seven people and a half in BB.
again…
I don't think It's anything like that, but I do think there is more to it than simply his crew being referred to.
I have always thought that those little Ace and Shanks flashbacks some pages before that dialogue have something to do with it. Just don't know how.
The 'they' statement is definitely foreshadowing something, as Marco stated something about BB's 'abnormal' body after he consumed 2 DFs.
If you can't see it, you're an idiot.

I agree totaly, people that think that the they is the crew are damned funny

No sarcasm detector i see…
What is up with blackbeard? He was the weak on WhiteBeard's ship. He got strong mainly due to the Devil Fruit power.

He was what? Ace suggested him to be the 2nd division commander instead of himself. Also, he killed the 4th division commander.
If he just sneaked behind the 4th commander he could of killed him. He was on WhiteBeard's ship where everyone trusted each other. What showcased his strength without DF? The Ace fight made it look like he had barely any power besides the DF.
I think that's kind of the point. Most characters have abilities beyond their DF powers. I like something that someone said before, though I'm paraphrasing.
With the introduction to Haki and everything, you have to work hard to get its abilities. BB however gets the ability to nullify DF powers with no hard work, just by using his DF ability.
It's a small different but I really like this example.
If he just sneaked behind the 4th commander he could of killed him. He was on WhiteBeard's ship where everyone trusted each other. What showcased his strength without DF? The Ace fight made it look like he had barely any power besides the DF.
He gave motherfuckin Shanks a scar, and it wasn't a sneak attack, Shanks said it himself.
Don't forget that this is Thatch we're talking about, the 4th division commander of the WB pirates, and as you can see in the war, the high ranking commanders all had haki, so it's safe to say he had kenbunshoku and couldn't dodge BB's attack.

What showcased his strength without DF? You must be blind.
He might not be a top-tier at the time, but he was definitly not weak...
how strong do you think smoker has gotten and do u think he learned haki?
Since you've asked that question 4 times already I'll answer you.
@strawhat2099:
how strong do you think smoker has gotten
Very.
@strawhat2099:
do u think he learned haki?
Probably.
I feel like I'm missing something, but I just can't figure this out. If Whitebeard stabbed the ice admiral with Haki in the war, why didn't he die?
I'm fairly certain he didn't use Haki. He just used his own fruit power.
I'm fairly certain he didn't use Haki. He just used his own fruit power.
What's the point of attacking him then if he doesn't use haki?
In the latest anime episode, bystanders exclaim, "The Admiral was stabbed with Haki! Is he going to die?!"
I'm sorry but I don't watch the anime. I'll look again but I don't recall Haki being used there.
Do you know the chapter?
Edit: I was thinking of the wrong part. I guess he does use Haki, but Whitebeard and Aokiji are pretty much evenly matched so of course he's not going to kill him.

The bystanders did say that, although I forget the chapter number, five seventy something I think, whether or not that means it was actually used is another matter.
Someone in the episode thread that Aokiji made a hole where Whitebeard was going to stab and looking at the manga panel I can see it. So that's another explanation.
God your avatar is awesome! I love insane Maka .

Yeah that's the most believable explanation and it's been stated a lot of time in the manga section before.
On the other hand right after that Jozu attacks Aokiji and obviously does damage to him yet Aokiji still breaks apart, so who knows how haki works.

Oda:ninja:

Haki lets you hit logia users but it doesn't nullify the DF.
When Jozu hit Aokiji, Aokiji was still Ice so he broke apart from the impact but was still hurt from the punch since he actually got hit.
@strawhat2099:
what would have been the outcome if whitebeard had let marco help him fight the bb pirates?
Marco kills BB but Laboon jumps from the ocean and eats Marco.
!
umm what would u do if oda died guys? Then the series would never be complete
I would become deeply depressed for about four month and then mind another obsession.
