I'm interested in how a ship is coated and how can they have the ship travel downwards.
I'm interested in how a ship is coated and how can they have the ship travel downwards.
the coating is most likely having a bubble around the ship, where instead of the oxygen inside the bubble bringing the ship up, the weight of the ship brings it down, and the bubble is made thick enough to stop the water from rushing in though most likely when they do head to fishman islandthey're gonna get attacked by some sea monster and the bubble gets a hole in it or somethin and they are in trouble bla bla bla~
They probably have Oars or something sticking out..
Capitalizing the word Oars had me really confused for a second -_-
The anime pretty much showed us it's a thin bubble surrounding the ship. Whats really going to be interesting is seeing Luffy Fight merman on there on turf.

While you're right about coating, that's kind of just BS about how the ship can travel downwards.
Remember, ships float even WITHOUT being surrounded by a bubble of air. (way back when, it was in great part because of wood, but with metal ships it's moreso because of the air stored in the underwater levels)
Air is less dense that ships. This is non-conducive to making a ship-bubble system that is more dense than water.
I don't even mind, but I really think that Oda is just going to kluge "THE SHIP SAILS STRAIGHT DOWNWARDS."
Either that, or Rayleigh or one of camie/hacchan will show the straw hats the exact location of some whirlpool that literally sucks them straight into fishman island.
Anyone who is really adamant about not seeing spoilers should probably stay off the site between Monday and the chapter release next week. This one is pretty much guaranteed to leak through the cracks.
I feel like this next chapter is going to be a let down. I mean after 4 weeks of hype, no one could live up to that.

In Oda We Trust.
It would be hilarious to actually see a person complaining about the chapter after 4 weeks of no One Piece. We've got so many freaking pages to look forward to as well!! :D

This may be the first chapter in years that I avoid the board and read in its entirety without being spoiled… can't wait!
As much as I'd like to avoid it, I have terrible self control. I'll check out the spoilers the first chance I get.The only thing I can do is hope that I forget about One Piece untill I get home from work Wednesday night.

Can't you just lock the entire manga sub-forum except the spoiler thread?

LOL. Well, there is some truth to the idea that some materials are naturally more boyant than others, and even the wise "use" of air in the design of the boat in question, but that's true even for shallow boats with no underwater chambers filled with air, which also manage to float somehow, so your explanantion is… incomplete I guess.
For things like steel ships etc, it's actually more a matter of displacement of the water and the relative density of materials vs. the density of the water combined with a workable shape to take adavantage of the first two. Here's a site that explains it better than I can: http://science.howstuffworks.com/science-vs-myth/everyday-myths/question254.htm
Getting the ships to go under the water will actually be quite a trick, and I wonder if there's something about the coating itself that helps it happen.

Don't mean to sound harsh but it would'nt it be easier if people who don't want to be spolied simply did'nt enter the manga section
I think everyone in this thread is missing the most important thing about this timeskip.
Dr. Kureha is going to be 141 years old.
141 years young dammit!
After the timeskip she'll reveal her secret of her youth. It will be prominent amounts of alcohol.

OMG ima laugh if bonny is somehow involved with her being 141 :P that would be ASS kicking stupid.
Bonney being Kurehas daughter:blink:

I don't really think that would work. I got spoiled about Moria in the tournament thread. Intentional or not, people tend to let things slip. It really would be best to just avoid the forums altogether like Robby said.

Hell yeah!

That's okay. People with exposed midriffs don't die so young.

! Just joking..of course it still is!!!
Why do I get the feeling that One Piece is almost over? I hope Oda doesn't rush it, because there is still so much that can be done.
I'm hoping One Piece really is only half-way over.
I wonder if Oda has his plans about the end of OP in a treasure box or something like that. Or some people who know the end.
Because if he dies by an accident or disease, what's then? All open questions would never be answered? This thought fears me to death!

It's just the One Piece deprivation talking. You're crazy. Snap out it, man! We're so close to the end of the break!!
If anything Oda is going to take his time. He puts a lot of detail into it. Didn't he once talk about how he's always thinking about how characters will react to situations and how he draws as much of that as possible so it ends up being longer? Anyways, look forward to at least 10 more years.
There comes a time where a man (or woman) just can't wait anymore
I thought that's what escort services were for?

It's obviously the alcohol lol John Paul Jones' dead body was preserved for 113 years because they filled his coffin with alcohol xD

Hmm…I always thought alcohol was bad for your body....but if that turns out to be true, i am gonna trust One Piece and drink myself silly!

That sounds beautiful.
Book Vasco, Me (and i guess Steven) for that.
So how poisonous has this place been the last few weeks? I abandoned it quick smart to read 20th Century Boys and work on the pile of books on my bedside table. Have some of the stupider people died from withdrawl?

They're hibernating.
So does anyone know when the next chapter comes out?
Just joking.

some of us have…. others like myself have been getting by ....by rereading the entire series and watching Strong world a few times ....i rhink i might just be able to make it
You know, the funny thing is that I was expecting this thread to turn out so much worse during the break than it is.
Speaking of getting worse, I decided that for those confused about when the chapter returns, I can just put a big reminder at the very top of my website (see link in signature).

Or…...her mother!
Or… her grandmother!
And Shakky is secretly the mother, in between the two!
! Does that make the tied-to-pole scene any less sexy? :P

It's funny you say that in a joking manner.. It seems believable since the time Chopper left Drum that Kureha made that remark about "Gol D. Roger" and Dalton said "Gold Roger?" following with her reply of insisting she meant "Gol D. Roger". The fact that Shakky wants Luffy to be the Pirate King and how closely she follows everything in the pirate world makes me think she's related to Kureha because of that one statement back in Drum.
Also considering the fact she must be at least 60, she must know an anti-age secret like Kureha or knows it because she knows or is related to Kureha.
Not much to go by but it doesn't seem so farfetched.

It's easy one uses alcohol and the other use cigarettes (and work in a bar)
Ah, so the less deadly of a substance one abuses, the older they look.
Since Kureha only abuses wine and looks old at 139, and Shakky abuses cigarettes and looks to be in her 30s at an age that is most likely around 160 (since she's Kureha's mom, har har), then in order to look in her late teens around 180 years old, Bonney probably abuses…. Speed or Ecstasy! That explains why she's so hungry all the time!
except the drugs you mention give you the exact opposite of the munchies.
I wasn't positive about Speed, but I read that the metabolism rush from Ecstasy gives you the munchies the second you hit a cooldown point. I figured Speed would have a similar effect?
(Edit: because if you were going to suggest something like Marijuana instead, well, it seemed fairly obvious to me that Bonney wasn't high at the time)

Not sure about speed, but E/MDMA makes your appetite disappear.
It'd be like Luffy looking at a gigantic steak cooked by Sanji for a few seconds and then turning around and asking for a glass of water.
Bonney smokes a lot of Cannabis and so she has a good appetite.
Riddle solved.
@Don:

Does that mean Luffy does too, it would explain soo much about why he has no idea about anything half the time.
Thats passive smoking, caused by Sanjis non-stop smoking all the time.
(Sanji is a cook for a reason!)
