Coby eats the Glue Glue Fruit. The natural opposite of Luffy's. In s parallel of Enel's fight with Luffy but with the roles reversed.
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

But everything Coby says will bounce off of Luffy and stick to Coby…
Ha! Exactly. How is glue rubber's weakness? Care to explain?
-
indeed, Luffy will punch Coby, Coby'll be stuck to Luffy's fists and Luffy just rams him into a couple of walls a few times while Coby is attached to him. So I don't see how glue would be the natural opposite of Luffy's fruit at all. . .
-
Ever see the fourth One Piece movie? Or Batman vs Clayface? You don't want to get stuck in your opponent, and not just because it's gross. Luffy depends on his mobility to dodge attacks and power up his punches, and if he can't do that, bad things happen.
In this case, a guy with glue power would anchor himself to the ground with it while trapping Luffy. A glue man isn't going to be the one tossed around (Guarantee void in Tennessee and against opponents with Haki).
That said, I don't want Coby to get a glue DF. He's already enough of Luffy's dorky counterpart without having a matching power.

Hey guys, there's 1 thing i've been wondering. Do you guys think that the Sea Devil will appear as a character later in the series? I mean, once heard that the secret of the devil fruits is hidden somewhere in the grand line, as such the Sea Devil might be in there. I can imagine something like, for instance, that Gold D. Roger had encountered him in the past, and that was the cause of his disease for instance.
-
First, maybe your theory should've went here instead- http://apforums.net/showthread.php?t=12012
Second, the "Sea Devil" and the like hadn't crossed my mind at all. Personally, I don't see it happening.
-
No. no higher powers in one piece please, i'm fine with just super powered mortals.
-
These powered mortals are powered by a higher power, so i don't understand why u can't accept this
-
Look, I know Luffy beat Enel, who called himself God and had electricity power. But just because Luffy's power is a powerful power that overpowered a "higher power's" power power doesn't mean that power is powered by a higher power's power.

Hello all, i am quite new to this forum so this may have been posted in the past, but i just found out a lot about it recently and i am intrigued.
Theory: Bartholomew Kuma is secretly working for the Revolutionaries as a double-agent. I know many people already know of this information, however i would like to compile all the information for this rumor.
Here are a few things that lead me to believe that:
First, Kuma used to be quite an influential Revolutionary, we can speculate that he had more or less Inazuma's rank. He was captured by the Word Government, transformed and brainwashed, and ended up being a Shichibukai.
In the Battle for Marineford, it was stated by Doflamingo that Kuma was "already dead" and it was also stated previously that he had no will of his own, which would make him a pure slave to the World Government, unable to go against orders.
Now, In the Thriller Bark Arc, he was ordered to "destroy" the Straw Hat crew, so as to have no witnesses to Moria's defeat. But he left after Zoro's sacrifice. This goes against his orders, showing he has some sort of free will.
This also shows his apparent protection of the Straw Hat crew. In Thriller Bark, he lets them escape in defiance of his quite clear orders.Another argument for this theory is where he sent the Straw Hats.
-Luffy on Amazon Lily, Boa Hancock's island, which has a lot of Haki users.
-Zoro on Mihawk's island.
-Sanji on Ivankov's island.
-Robin at a place that was attacked by the Revolutionaries, leading her to meet Monkey D. Dragon.
-Franky on Vegapunk's island. So we have 2 Shichibukai, 2 main Revolutionaries and Vegapunk, all figures that have direct links to Kuma himself. So this is unlikely to be an incident. What's more, they were all sent to the perfect places where they could "power up", like Nami with Weatheria.
That's it, did i miss anything ?
-
I found all of this rather obvious and there is a "Theory on Bartholomew Kuma" thread.
-
He is Luffy's Biological Mother. Weren't you paying attention?
-
Knowing this site, I think they will skin you for making this thread.
-
It looks like you dont' read all the chapter…
I's sure tha kuma is some kind of allies for the straw hat....
And he send the crew in the place for the training before he got the last operation from vegapunk...it means before the brainwash....The real question is if after the brainwash he still have some kind of personality....
-

I did'nt see one before this 'brainwash'…..so I doubt it

Just because One Piece is one a month long vacation..I've been going through the entire manga lately..
I believe that White Beard and Crocodile seem to have some kind of relation in past can anyone suggest something..
I came to think of it because of what happened at the Marine HQ there are some traces of conversations that suggest this in 563(pg17) and 578(pg13)…Crocodile turns against the marines as soon as it comes to marines going for White Beard..
Also Ivankov suggested to know something of Crocodile's past could these be somehow related?? -

This thread would've been a better fit for your theory.
And Crocodile fought (and lost to) WB in the past.

Anybody else hope Usopp eats the Giant Giant Zoan fruit eventually?
It would be just perfect for a variety of reasons:
1) Usopp's secondary goal is to visit the Giants of Elbaf, as he admires them for their fighting prowess and bravery.
2) Also if Usopp were to eat this zoan he would be able to help the Strawhats in direct combat as opposed to being limited to an auxiliary combatant role. He would be able to switch back and forth making Usopp very valuable to the crew.
3) Usopp's new found usefulness as a direct combatant would also quell his doubt about him not being able to help his crew.
4) I would also welcome this development eventually because assuming the Strawhats eventually stop at 10 crewmates, (as alluded to by luffy from the very beginning and stay an intimate crew), The 10 crewmates would have to be able to fight one on one battles with the strongest commanders of the top pirate crews.
5) Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji are their only elite fighters at the moment whereas the Yonkou seem to have at least 10 elite fighters on their crews, (excluding any powerful allies they may have in the new world).
I don't know if this will happen right after the timeskip, but in my heart of hearts I hope this happens eventually. I would be so happy for Usopp. His self esteem would go from puny to giant, haha. Anyway do you all think?
-
No.
Usopp will remain the weakest, as his goal is to become a brave warrior of the sea. He's not going to reach that until the end is near.
Also what was the point of impressing upon usopp in enies lobby that he had things that only he could do.
Also this should go here:
-
Adding that it would be disappointing when Oda now trough around with DFs for the rest of the SH-crew.
We already have enough DF-users and powering someone up with a DF would be cheap. -
Being simply a giant doesn't make you magically as strong as the top tiers commanders of the best pirate crews and Usopp primary shoots at things, he doesn't need to be a giant to do that, at all.
-
he is known for his sharpshooter just like his dad. There no way usopp should get DF cause it might make him stronger than Luffy. Usopp just need to build his bravery and start shooting real bullets and stuff that actually kills not hurt ppl. Then he could be strong as sanji and zoro.
-
Usopp would just become a bigger target for other sharpshooters, so the fruit would be useless.
However, a giant Sogeking with over 9000 followers would be epic!
-
I hope Usopp or anyone else eats a devilfruit >.<
There are already 4 devil fruit users on the crew, and those are supposed to be rare.
Usopp would be way too strong -

Ahh that's not what I am saying, lol. I merely said that he would be better equipped to help his crew against crews that have horrifically strong fighters. Some of the Strawhats are in need of some powerups. Luffy is supposed to compete for pirate king, and yet he doesn't have the type of muscle required to back him up yet. Usopp's hit and run tactics or snipe and hide tactics shouldn't really help against the elites of the new world. The NW pirates have either DF powers, mastership of at least one type of haki, or a combo of both to be able to survive out there. I would like Usopp to have something to fall back on aside from his slingshot. That's all i'm saying he is my fav character.
-

I don't think getting a giant DF would make him stronger than luffy at all. Most of the Giants we have seen have been Vice Admiral level in strength. The elites in the Yonkou level crews seem to be as strong as admirals. We all know that Zoro and Sanji will be to Luffy what Marco and Jozu were to Whitebeard, Luffy's main fighters. Usopp even as a second tier fighter must be strong enough to at least be on par with your average NW pirate or Vice Admiral in order for the crew to survive out in the NW. Especially considering that the Strawhats are a small crew, and hence would have to make up for quantity with quality no?
As for him needing to shoot real bullets etc to be effective, even if he started to shoot real bullets he would need to imbue them with haki for them to do some serious damage. Take Shanks' crew for example, why was Admiral Kizaru worried about Ben Beckman showing up and point a gun at him from intermediate range if the bullets phase right thought him? Because Beckman's bullets are imbued with haki that's why, otherwise why even bother with bullets, when most proficient fighters can dodge them anyway, and logia's can just have them phase right through.
With that said, what do you think is the most likely scenario: Usopp gaining mastery of haki so he can imbue his projectiles with haki to take down enemies or him finding a DF that could aid him when it comes to battles that are up close and personal? Usopp is pretty weak willed at the moment and I never really saw him as type to develop an armor type haki, maybe mantra later on.

Hahaha, giant Sogeking with over 9000 followers would be epic! Anyway if Usopp were going up against other sharpshooters he wouldn't need to use the DF ability would he, as your right it would be a disadvantage. Like I've stated in my other responses, the DF would come in handy in up close and personal battles. He could still snipe from a distance. Giant Usopp Sogeking would be awesome. Imagine him using a mast sized Kabuto to launch a boulder sized projectile or canon to pick off marine ships, haha. Usopp would do the stomping for a change, not the other way around. Even if Usopp got this DF I still don't think he would be overpowered compared to the Strawhat's top three and other NW elites. Logias are overpowered, mythical zoans are overpowered, haki users are overpowered, DF users than can use haki are totally haxxed. Hence why I think my boy Usopp needs something to make him more versatile and invaluable to the crew.
-
Now personally I do subscribe to the theory that Luffy dies in the end, but not really for any good reason. Only because I think it'd be cool, and great storytelling. So I don't think he nessecairly has to pass it on by dying.
If luffy dies in the end, I will cry manly tears
arrghhh who am I kiddn, I'd probably pour my eyes out like a big girl :cwy:
-
As long as Usopp is alive at the end it doesn't matter
-
As long as Usopp is alive at the end it doesn't matter
Really… Usopp, he's ok But nothing close to luffy, the thing is luffy is certian to die in the end with Ivankov's treatments and the gears eating away at his life, its going to be heartbreaking :cwy:
And who knows what side effects haki might have?
It would be kool if they all died except for zoro, just so I can see him shed some manly tears, the only one so far I havent seen cry.
-
Well gears shouldn't be too much of a problem, I believe the thing was his body couldn't handle it… It should have been strengthened after these past 2 years (Hopefully)
-
Ivankov's treatement only took 10 years, seeing there's a 2 year timeskip and maybe a 2 year max time in the second part of the story, no big deal.
Now Luffy can control his gears, no big deal.He won't die, Maybe a huge timeskip in the final chapter when he dies or something but aside that he won't die.
Usopp has bigger chances, he might be the one dying.

Last panel said it all, if that scene happens it'll be one of the greatest ones ever.[/hide]

One Piece wiki
However, the technique drains his stamina and if overused makes him temporarily unable to move afterward, as well as shortening his life span.
Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd are eating away at his life, and who knows what other enemies he will meet and fight that might injure him physically and psychologically.
-
Uhhh yeah i didn't say it doesn't draw his stamina, but he wasn't used to it at W7/TB
If you look in ID and the WB war, he uses the gear 2nd for like 2-3 sec and it's gone (you can confirm it with this week's episode for example)
About the 3rd gear the time after shrinking isn't long anymore.
So he mastered it.
So no worries about his life considering that matter.

My First Post Ever!!!
ahem. so i was re-reading my viz volume 50 the other day, and this page;
http://read.mangashare.com/One-Piece/chapter-490/page004.htmle
stuck out, because of the strange shape behind the mist in the middle panel. also in the page before, viz translates a few lines of narration as something along the lines of "even before thriller bark made its home there, the florian triangle was a place of mystery, where 100's of ships went missing", though the binktopia translation from mangashare says something quite different. could this be hinting at some other entity/organisation within the triangle, or am i grasping at straws? if im right, by watching lola's crew, this shape will know of the strawhat's exploits and may play a part in their future. imo, it would be something oda would do. -

Moria setting up base in the Florian Triangle was never the main cause as to why so many ships were being found empty. I'm guessing they were shown to us so we can know that just because Moria was taken out and Thriller Bark is abandoned; that there will continue to be attacks on ships passing through that give the Florian Triangle its reputation.
As to what exactly it is, I think it's just some giant monster that in the past decided to take residence there. Something beyond the scale of any seaking, giant or Oars. I don't think it'll ever tie in to the main story nor mentioned again. Always nice to have a little enigma so not like it's a bad thing.
-
Maybe the crew will fight Davy Jones at FMI.
!

@The:
See my responses above
Yes, but didn´t Oda say that Usopp will always be the physicly weakest in the crew?
He would probably be alot stronger than Nami and Choppa if he became a giant. -
I dont know if someone has said this already, but.
Zoro's asura-technique. We dont know surely what it is, most likely some kind of haki, but cant say for sure. And i also think that oda has left it unrevealed on purpose.
But, now my point:
The skulls in a Blackbeards flag are nearly exactly in same position as Zoro when he uses that technique. Also, the wound that Shanks got from BB has three stripes, etc.So, could it be that those things are somehow related? Like Blackbeard having a great mastery in that techinque and therefor being able to even consume another fruit etc? Like having really "more persons within him"?
hope you understand what i mean.
-
Well, I think that Zoro has some sort of haki, but I´m not sure about the bb thing..

Theory: No Strawhat will return to the crew with a new Devil Fruit Power.
