Well after an inadvertent mishap in posting information in the wrong area I am back

I too was wrong about Moria - I still stand by my comments he is a bit part villain and what I believed should have happened, should have happened.

It appears I am wrong and those who had faith are richly rewarded - lesson learned no matter how sure of something predicting Oda's intentions is fraught with danger and expressing those predictions doubly so.

Just one question - I have a no sig policy as a general rule am I still required to use the sig? If so for how long?

I actually thought at the beginning that once Luffy entered Grandline, One piece would be over and that the whole story would be set in East Blue.

Crocodile was a crocodile zoan...

After Going Merry, the next Strawhat ship would be Pluton...

Ace and Luffy would team up to beat the crap out of BB and his crew...

Same here… When the Straw Hats arrived at Grand Line, I only read the tankobons and didn't know what would happen later on. So when I saw that volume 12 had the Straw Hats celebrating a giant treasure on the treasure and had the title "Origin of the Legend" (which could mean that the mysteries of One Piece would be resolved) and even started with chapter 100, I was sure that this would be the last epic volume.
I didn't thought of all the story elements that needed to be resolved ... I was only 11 after all :P

Well, technically there is a difference, while the wrongness in general thread deals with predictions and whatnot that didn't come true, this thread is aimed at old predictions, period.

I thought Ace would get executed on the stage like his father, then when he was free i thought "well i bet Whitebeard dies while Ace escapes allowing Ace to take command of the WB pirates". Wrong and wrong.

Before that during the Sabody arc, i thought the SH would encounter other pirate crews leading to a few big, but quick and interrupted battles (a teaser for what would happen in the NW) and that someone from the slave auctions would be freed by the SH and join the crew.

It's funny. You were right and wrong about both of those. The did encounter other Pirates Crews, and technically there were a few big, quick battles (like a war teaser). But not with the Pirates crews.

And… someone did get freed from the auction, and joined a crew. Just not the SH.

I just remembered this posting in another thread (copy + pasted). It was a fleeting idea:

I was wondering if he'd(Oda) keep up a pirate being a pirate and aspiring marine pursuing the goal of being a marine for a longer time but that idea was scrapped soon enough. I still think that'd be a good idea for a manga though; two best friends or brothers; one a pirate and the other a marine going on adventures while trying to maintain their paths in life.

Referring to Luffy and Coby if Coby tagged along with Luffy for a longer period and became a marine at some point but with my knowledge of the OP world now it's virtually impossible on a public scale.

Umm no, not really.

This all just stems from me thinking Coby wouldn't disappear for hundreds of chapters after Luffy initally saved him from Alvida and stay with Luffy longer.

Basically, Coby continues traveling with Luffy wanting to be a marine while sailing with a pirate. At some point Coby becomes a marine but through different series of events he finds himself as a full fledged marine still sailing with Luffy. Bunch of crazy adventures where Luffy beats up pirates and Coby takes the credit some times. Shit like that. In this scenario Coby eventually gets some balls and learns how to fight still leans on using his head. The idea points more to a comedic irony where even when Coby is off being a marine he finds himself with Luffy and his crew, an odd couple of sorts. None of them treat him like one, playful fights as he tries to stop them from committing crimes. Stuff like that. Until Luffy keeps becoming more infamous and Coby is forced to fight him.

The last part will probably eventually happen but not in the same way. I was focused more on a marine traveling with pirates part.

Smoker's a bit too eager. It'd be more of a conflict and internal struggle, choosing to go after a friend since it's your dream to be a great marine with Coby. Smoker has no ties and has chose his side and I don't think he'd be that different if Luffy was revealed to be his brother or if they were raised as such. Not Sabo cuz he's just like completely different and if he wanted to be a marine he'd make it clear he wanted to capture Luffy before they actually became what they wanted.

Hancock will die protecting Luffy after realizing they could never be together since if she were to go off with him her island would be destroyed by the WG and she doesn't want to abandon her ppl but since she doesn't want to give up Luffy death is her only solution. Ofcourse Luffy will be completely oblivious to her love for him until she says it and he'll be really confused yet sad anyway since she died protecting him. The person who will kill her will be Admiral Akainu. The new empress of Amazon Lily will be Nyon for the time being.

Sanji could have, I think he has copied some okama kenpo techniques. But he must have made them more manly
