Felicia is a nun, I think and she has a good and innocent heart, despite showing all that skin.
Morrigan is… looking for male AND female souls to rapetake.
She eventually has a story in DS3?

I love Morrigan. On one side, I want to sleep with her, but on the other, I kind of want to BE her.
I hope she's as seductive as ever in MvC3's story.
A character I wish was Capcom but isn't is Travis Touchdown. It would be so awesome if he were in this game. Too bad he's Ubisoft though.
I so easily forget No More Heroes isn't Capcom. It just seems so much like a Capcom game. Capcom published the game previous to No More Heroes (Killer7), so I wish Capcom would have did NMH too.

Between that, and her mannerisms, I always got the feeling she was something of a deconstruction of your typical sexy fighting game character. Her design is the only sex appeal she has (beyond Japanese cat fetish). Even her fighting stance, walking animations, etc. are generally unsexy, and Demitri's Midnight Bliss actually puts clothes on her. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, though.

She's always had a story. She's one of the central characters, after all.
@robbybedfart:
Felicia was also, randomly, the lead darkstalkers hero character in the terrible godawful 90's american cartoon. Despite being basically naked. But she's generally considered the nicest most goodguy-ish character in the franchise.
That cartoon was so bad I actually love it.

C'mon. You can't not laugh at that shit.
Ammy being playable makes this game amazing. I hope she isn't all 360 degee spin motions or anything horrible like that. I will learn to play her.
Only grappler characters use 360 motions, so you'll be fine.

I can't and I have a bad habit at laughing at things not intended to be funny.
Downloaded 'Kaze Yo Tsutaete', Roll's theme from Marvel vs Capcom 1 (I got the Tatsunoko vs Capcom version).
The song reminded me of the PS1 days, and it really makes me want Roll to make the roster. I realize how lame that is, but she's such a fun character.
Had I never played TvC, I would have never wanted her to make the MvC3 roster.
Then when I played TvC and then even tried her and found out they made her an actual viable character, there is a small part that wouldn't mind her in the game. Keep in mind I still feel there are other characters who should get a spot before her.
Kinda wished Bayonetta was done by Capcom instead of Sega since she would of been amazing in this type of game :X

I was thinking the same thing just the other day.
Putting this thread back on the DarkStalkers track really quick, but I would like to say that having only played the first game in arcades, Talbain is my fave with Felicia as a secondary.
All the recent DS talk is motivating me to try and track down that Japan-only Darkstalkers Collection game on the PS2. Hopefully I'll have some luck at Otakon, provided the price is reasonable.

I have it. :) Bring your swap magic next time you're at my place and you can experience the magic.
And when you do, you'll be as suprised as I am that there really only seems to be two Darkstalkers games, and a "Super Turbo" version of each one.
Guess what were doing tomorrow~~~♪
basically what the article is is a look at the history of the fantastic four + an interview with ryota niitsuma where he discusses the influence of fantastic four within marvel vs capcom 3.
niitsuma runs through the playable fantastic four cast of doom, skrull, and he talks about silver surfer, who will be shown off later this month. there are no screens of him, just a little portrait thing along with the other two.
nothing new really about doom, but niitsuma said they've added a lot more attacks to skrull since the last public build including several invisible woman techniques.
silver surfer is very quick and has a unique playstyle. he is never standing on the ground. he is always hovering on his board. niitsuma said that silver surfer is more of a character to be played by advanced players. he recommends dr doom to fantastic four fans who are new to the vs series.
also, niitsuma said the fantastic four play a major role within the basic plotline of arcade mode, and that the final boss should be familiar to fans of fantastic four.
F4 might not be in it but everyone else but them is haha. Hints that Dorammu might not be final boss but Someone from the F4 enemy's list is.
Also show's Silver Surfers portrait. HQ pic of it coming as soon as I see it or someone else does haha.
My Marvel lore is failing me. Just what are the Surfer's powers again?

Galactus?!? No one else it could be for FF I can think of.
My Marvel lore is failing me. Just what are the Surfer's powers again?
He is somewhat the Cosmic version of Iceman lol He rides around a Surf Board traveling to planers with his Cosmic powers to find planets that can used to feed Galactus.
All I know he shots beams.
My Marvel lore is failing me. Just what are the Surfer's powers again?
Basically he has the "power cosmic," which allows him to control the energies of the universe (very similar to Captain Universe), and to move at very high speeds. He can blast energy beams and has very high physical power, as well. All considered, Silver Surfer is considered on of the "world beaters" capable of being a threat or holding his own against nearly anyone he faces.
! Powers The Silver Surfer wields "the power cosmic", absorbing and manipulating the universe's ambient cosmic energies. He can augment his strength to incalculable levels, and is almost totally indestructible. He can navigate space, hyperspace and dimensional barriers, and can fly at near-limitless speeds on his board, entering hyperspace when he exceeds light speed. He has even proven capable of time travel on occasion. The Surfer does not require food, drink, air or sleep, sustained entirely by converting matter into energy. He is immune to temperature extremes and most radiation, and can survive in vacuum environments such as outer space and hyperspace. He can analyze and manipulate matter and energy, and restructure or animate matter at will, even transmuting elements. He can heal living beings (though he cannot raise the dead), and has proven capable of revitalizing or evolving organic life on a planet wide scale. He can alter the size of himself or of other matter, cast illusions, fire energy blasts, form and manipulate energy constructs, manipulate gravity, absorb and discharge most forms of energy, and phase through solid matter. His senses enable him to detect objects and energies light years away, and to perceive matter and energy in subatomic detail; he can even see through time, and with concentration can achieve limited perception of past and future events in his general vicinity. The Surfer has demonstrated limited telepathic ability on occasion, and has proven able to influence human emotion and sensation.
Silver Surfer. Really?
This is just a shot in the dark, but I think the final boss is Annihilus from the annihilation storyline a few years back.

@Syan:

Yeah, if it's not gonna be Dormammu, I'd put money on Galactus (who I thought would be the boss in the first place).
You know what's so strange about this: the fact that 2011 is going to be the 50th anniversary of F4 (and thus "modern Marvel as we know it…as opposed to Timely or Atlas"), and yet their representation is essentially (at least) two villains and their silver buddy.
Yeah, I know they aren't that relevant anymore but they do deserve more respect.

That might actually be the REASON.
For the 50th anniversary, SURELY Marvel is planning something with them. Revamps/redesigns or something, so that might be a factor. They don't want them showing up in a game where their designs/roster will be dated within a week of release.

this.
this times like, a billion.
Silver Surfer is ever-so-marketable, though… Also, he has a fan following.
so…. many better characters
Don't the F4 have the Super Skrull and Dr Doom? If they add another character who started with them, say Silver Surfer (Fuck stan lee (or whomever) and his acursed Aliteration!), they are 1 shy of getting the whole group in.
I'd just like to play with Susan Storm. The Thing would be stepping on Hulk's territory, Mr Fantastic wasn't ever very creative in his fights, and I could care less for the Human Torch.
Stilt Man for final boss.
He may be considered by many as "a Hulk Clone", but Thing did it first and did it with personality as opposed to being the avatar of rage. I know the Hulk is a Marvel mainstay, but you really can't screw screw up with the big orange guy.

Yeah, I know about his whole personality, but in fighting skills what can bring that Hulk can't?

lots and lots of clobberin' as opposed to lots and lots of smashing…
I just want Rogue, Storm, or Psylocke. Is that too much to ask? The only X-Men chara to make it so far is Wolverine. Can't we have an X-Lady too?

All three of them were playable in part 2, partner characters in part 1, and X-Men is traditionally the biggest franchise Marvel has. It seems likely at least one of them will make it to part 3 as a playable, especially since there's still at least 15 characters to announce yet, so presumably 7 more from the Marvel side (Since Surfer is taking up a slot). Then again, part 2 had nearly 60 characters, this one has only announced up to 30 so far…
Rougue with her unique power system of stealing moves is the most likely bet for gameplay... though she was best in X-Men vs. Street Fighter, her skill set diminished a lot when the roster expanded and she started getting generic power ups instead of actual character moves.
Storm is pretty iconic and one of the more prominent black characters Marvel has, so thats likely-ish too. (Not that they need to meet a racial quota or anything, but...)
Psylocke... has had some really convoluted crap and body switching and reality hopping the last few years, (she's back in her original body instead of the asian one now) so she's probably not a good bet at all.
Aside from them, Cyclops and Magneto are pretty likely as well, though that does start eating up the remaining roster... if it really tops out at "only" 30 characters.
I'd rather have Gambit than Cyclops, to be honest. C'mon, Gambit doesn't have some awesome fighting moves? And we need someone with a staff to fight, we've already got guns and swords.
And no, I'm not a Cyclops hater, I just want Gambit.
Honestly, I could see Rogue being replaced by Ms. Marvel this time around considering that she has a lot of the "flying/strength" powers plus projectiles. (and her being one of the more prominent females as of late…then again at this point there is only one that could be confirmed for Marvel's side but nothing official) Sure there's no power stealing but considering Rogue took the powers from her originally...
And no, I'm not a Cyclops hater, I just want Gambit.
Me too. Gambit has always been one of the better X-Men fighters, and he's my favorite comic book character too. If he does make it in the game, I want to see him perform his Royal Flush.
After that I'd be ok with Cyclops and one of the female X-Men, but I'd rather not see Magneto. Not because he's not a cool character, he is a very cool character, but because he was so broken in the last game.

Cyclops is fun for his "the punch button makes an instant fireball" spam, and he's the iconic X-men leader… tho Wolverine has pretty much stolen that role in the last decade.
I never understood the Gambit appeal personally, but I know he has fans.
@Tokoro:

Yeah, that'd make a lot of sense actually. And again, Rougue's ability stealing is totally nerfed when theres too many characters to keep giving her unique powers… time will tell.
But at least one X-Lady is a sure thing.
AoA/Exiles Blink might be really interesting and unique. Though there's gotta be a reason they haven't used freaking NIGHTCRAWLER yet...
Silver Surfer hate?
O_o
What did I miss?
I always thought he was WELL overdue for a fighting game.
Silver Surfer hate?
He lacks personality, is just a naked guy with no outfit for a design, and is centered around a fad from the 70's.
Nothing wrong with that, but its kind of boring.
I agree he has as much personality as the strawhats I wear (possibly less) but as far as fighters go… and ESPECIALLY the Vs. series, I think hes a GREAT fit.
I wonder if his alter color would be Seth on a surf board.
I think a lot of the hate for the Silver Surfer comes from that really old game on the NES.
The importance of Silver Surfer is simple: he's essentially is Jack Kirby's first really major "cosmic" character (well considering that Ditko had Dr. Strange…and yes I said Kirby, he created him and Stan Lee just played along with it) and just furthered along Kirby's own concepts that, along with his myth stuff he worked on with Thor, would essentially define his later career with the New Gods and the Eternals. Yeah he's dull but he has his importance in the Marvel-verse so having him in isn't that bad.
If it wasn't for F4's 50th anniversary, I'd be totally pissed about his addition to the game. That's the only thing keeping me from being as angry as the inclusion of Trish in this game.
The only other gripe I have with this game is that Felicia and Morrigan have yet to appear once in any trailer or official gameplay.
For some strange reason, I want to see Hawkeye in the game. He is Marvel correct?
Morrigan has been duking it out with Ironman since day one of the trailer.

Thats not gameplay.
my silver surfer dislike comes simply from his boring design. I just think there is a plethora of more interesting characters that could have made the cut.
-Red Skull would be fucking awesome
-as mentioned before, Kingpin
Then again, Gene's (godhand) design isn't the best and he looks a bit generic. But he makes up for it with powerful moves that range from straight up flashy to wacky to just plain devastating. But I'm beating a dead horse with that. He's a shoe out.
Punisher would have just been a perfect replacement for Cable. But they straight up wussed out like PUSSIES!
I still remember the time Doom punked out the Silver Server and stole all of his cosmic powers for himself. Good times.
The only other gripe I have with this game is that Felicia and Morrigan have yet to appear once in any trailer or official gameplay.
You could just check the MvC3 Evo demo vids if you're interested.

Don't you mean he
! got the AXE?!
!
! But seriously, DLC is the way to go here, if you let them know on the capcom boards.
