Sanji's intent when saving is almost always to save a lady and make himself look cool and heroic. In fact…. he's kind of a tool.
Bon Clay would sacrifice himself just because he thought a group he barely knew, even fought against, were a good bunch of guys/girls. He's a true bro.
I also don't understand why so many fangirls think he's so prince-like or the "bishie of one piece". If you look at the art... Sanji is actually kind of thuggish looking (especially in Baratie) and a bit sleazy- the suits, the chin pubes. And he's always called a ladies man by fans but in reality Sanji doesn't get any positive attention from girls unless they want something from him and are just flirting to manipulate him- he thinks of himself as a good looking prince but nobody else seems to agree with him.
I remember on capslock_op I think there was an interesting discussion where we thought maybe the way Sanji looks in the manga is an idealized version and more what he thinks of himself to be and in reality he looks just like his wanted poster (Iva's comment in the last chapter seems to ruin this theory but up until then people usually said he looked like his poster which was a gag but supported this theory).
Also, canonically answered in the question corner by Oda himself Sanji is said to smell like cigarettes and fish. not very romantic. Bon Clay probably smells like Chanel number five and water lilies.
