ONE PIECE: MOVIE 10 ~ Strong World
-
-
i posted raw's link some pages page.. around post number 4000 i think
-
I finished the movie earlier. I liked it, but it's definitely overrated in my opinion.
-
Just finished watching it right now. The fight between Luffy and Shiki wasn't that great. So that was disappointing. Over all though i'd give this movie a 7.5 out of 10. Lacking in good fight action but i liked the story and the settings and the art. Was a fun movie.
-
Im watching at the moment, gotta love the begining.

For anyone who wants the "Fixed" Subs, I know Mr. Sir already did his, but mine goes a step further than him.
I even translated all of the Attack names. Essentially, I wanted a version with NO need for Translation notes WHATSOEVER.

There you go.
If the sight of the phrase "Gum Gum" sends you into an unnecessary fanboy Rage, you might not want to touch this version. -
Just finished the movie myself (I can't believe it took me 5 hours).
Now I know what Greg meant about the first 20 minutes being fast-paced and epic. The beginning was by far my favourite part of the movie in terms of directing and animation. The opening sequence was nicely done as well, though I did find the flashback right after it slightly lacking in comparison to everything else.
The rest of the movie moved a bit too slow for me, with the exception of the obvious climatic parts. Seriously, I've come to appreciate Nami a bit more from watching this; hooray for not being the helpless big-boobed maiden.
And since when did Brook get so badass? Everything he said in this movie was complete WTF, in a good way. Sanji had some nice lines, while Luffy, Usopp, Nami, and Zoro really played their part. The lack of Robin, Chopper, and possibly Franky really doing anything was pretty obvious though; particulary Robin.
The scenes with Shiki standing around explaining the plot to Nami, or Xiao's (huh?) mother running around crying and explaining more of the plot were a bit disapointing. I could understand that Oda had to squeeze everything in, but it started getting repetitive. Not nearly as bad as how the Avatar movie handled it, but still.
…I don't know why but I sort of cracked up at how Usopp was the only one still conscious after being meshed into that pillar. Yeah, ruined the moment.
-
Damn, this movie rocked. I really wish funi would make plans to release it dvd.
-
…I don't know why but I sort of cracked up at how Usopp was the only one still conscious after being meshed into that pillar. Yeah, ruined the moment.
I liked how during that scene it was Usopp the comic relief/human chewtoy of the story, not the stoic badass Zoro or the determinator Luffy, who was still up, and how it was him, the one who left the crew before himself, who gave Nami the ''What the hell do you think you're doing?!'' speech. Luffy was the hero, Nami the damsel that he needed to save, but it was Usopp who was the Straw Hats' MVP this movie. I really liked that.
Anyway, I'm holding off on watching this subbed until the proper release comes out. I don't wanna have to download it again just to watch a handful of new scenes. Plus no SAMPLE and scrolling text to deal with.

Speaking of Usopp I was a little surprised to see him use that Heavenly Dragon Star thingie. Is it just me or has that move never been shown before?
It looked far more powerful then his Firebird attack. -
Yeah, that move's new. I really hope that he starts using electric attacks like that in the manga too, because that was really neat and unexpected.
It would also be nice if Luffy and Nami could use a watered down version of Gigant Thor Axe as a combo attack.
-
AH FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S OUT & SUBBED!!!!
Runs Off To Watch
-
I give it a 7. meh

Ah so it IS new. Well since its Oda I can only imagine this is an advanced view of some of Usopp's Upgraded attacks. Honestly I have been a little disappointed that until now Nami got a uber powerful weapon like the Climatact but Usopp seemingly got the unimpressive Kabuto. But with that level of element manipulation the Kabuto is looking to be an equally awesome weapon.
-
Such an awesome movie, definitely worth the time spent watching it.
Shiki did NOT live up to what I expected him to be. Only thing he did that made me think he was strong was his Guillotine Slash when he cut the huge body of water. Other than that, he wasn't as powerful as I expected and I don't see how it took both Garp and Sengoku to beat him. (Yes, I know a Gigant Thor Axe is a bit insane in the power books, but still, he was a "legendary" pirate afterall)Most awesome part was the new moves, GUNS and Biri. Biri stole the movie for me, I actually became attached to that little electric Bird. The new moves like Usopp's Dragon shot was awesome, Zoro's new move with Asura was really cool (or I think it was a new move at least), and last but not least, Luffy's amazing Gigant Thor Axe. It actually made me chuckle that the word Thor was used as the adjective but nevertheless this movie was really nice to watch. The guns were just a cool addition, especially with their blacked out assassin outfits, totally badass. Zoro showed me that he is the biggest badass by holding his swords and a gun in one scene. Sanji is perfect as the lady-crazy character, and Brook was just very punny. :) A great break from the current war in the anime. :)

I know I shouldn't complain, but is there a version with the video with subs that aren't having spacing problems?
On the version I downloaded, torrent called "[One Piece Fan-Subs] One Piece Movie 10 SAMPLE 720 x 480" has the subtitles like this;
W h e r e y o u b e e n h i d i n g a l l t h e s e y e a r s ?Its almost unbearable, cause due to the size any one who speaks more than 2 words takes up a 3rd of the screen, and the spacing on the words makes it very hard to read.
Sounds like you use VLC.
Confirm?

ugh 60 mb left, this is annoying.

Try being at 98.6% with 7h estimated time left. >_<
-
One of the things that I found disappointing was the fact that Nami brought out her weapon and didn't use it at all. What was the point of bring it out then?
-
Great Movie
One of the best lines, Luffy: Its true that he buried me, but thats only because I was hungry. Lol
-

i was hoping i was the only one with this happening. : l
-
I watched it on a website… its pretty good. The song at the end reminds me of the new opener too... :D
Also the final battle seemed kinda.. short. >_>
For someone who was supposed to fought on equal ground with Roger/Garp/Sengoku.... he sure got beat pretty easily.
-
-
lol at shiki's entrance at the beginning
-
Yes, I do. 16 characters.
It seems to be an issue most natively found to do with VLC player. I'm not entirely sure on how to fix this issue but watching with a different player (might I recommend MPC?) should fix the issue.
I don't think I've said "issue" enough. ISSUE.
-
I'm starting to see where people get this whole idea of Nami/Luffy, even though I doubt it will ever come to fruition.
-
Is it just me or did Brook laughing while shooting the huge gun/bazooka/whatever it was make it sound like the was a psychopath?
Otherwise great movie. I understand Shiki just sitting around waiting to be hit a little more now, though it still could have been handled better.

Actually, I laughed rather hard at that part. His puns this time were rather good.. :D

I thought so too but I also laughed at the sight of it. He also looked a bit off in the credits when they're all on the Sunny but that's not really important.
-

Understatement.
"Yes, I'm only bones. But that's because I have an interest in…dieting."
"I'LL GRATE YOU, YOU SHI-" crash
"I don't have any skin for you to grate..." Epic musicSeriously; WTF?
Oh yeah, I wanted to make a comment on Usopp's new dragon star attack. I'm a huge sucker for blue, so it was pretty awesome. Too bad we didn't really get to see what it does which is different from his flame bird.
My first reaction to Shiki's entrance: "The hell is this?"
-
Did Brook steal the movie for anyone else? I just found him great and love his character even more. I'm gonna have to say that this is my favorite movie, even in the fights weren't the best with Zoro and Sanji, It was still amazing.
As for the thing with Shiki, Well yea, he knew Luffy could stretch, but did he know that he was immune to lightning? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember Shikki saying "He's made of rubber" Or Luffy saying "I'm a rubber man". Shikki was probably waiting for him to get struck by lightning, wondering why he wasn't dying…and Idk was maybe surprised by it and thought he would go down from the lightning before the kick connected.
And for the record....say it with my: Billy, the birds name is Billy. There was a pun, yes but the official name is Billy, not Biri. I know the sub said it, but if we went by what the first subs said Sunkiss would be having a lot of fun with Nami.
-
Buutttt I have a question. Now, I don't know if this was only a rumor, or if I recall all wrong, but I have this vague memory of Oda stating something about the character development… Like, that each Straw hat would say something specific that would show how they've changed from the beginning of their introductions - at some point of the movie. Does anyone remember anything like this, or am I making up this completely? Or was it character development overall which was meant here...? Ugghhh dunno.
Ussop = I think was being the person who has taken the most amount of punishment consecutively over the time he has been with the crew allowed him to be concious and talk to Nami - also his loyalty to the crew is a lot more cemented now.
Sanji and Zoro seem to be working together with less hostility. I am not sure on that but it just seems those two can in the midst of battle understand what the other is thinking.
Robin = I couldn't notice anything in the first watching now I know to look out for it I will keep an eye on it all.
Not sure on the others but I don't know how much we can discuss it without spoiler tags and I am pretty sure nothing I have said is spoiler worthy but let me know and I will tag it.
-
Well in any case, the story was well done, but the fight scenes were rather lacking.. like I said from a character who is considered incredibly powerful. Though as we noticed he had a tendency to get shocked and surprised a lot. So there wasn't much of a doubt that he'd be surprised that Luffy would bring down a giant electrified foot down onto him. Also.. we did see some gear second.. but gear third seemed to be the more effective attack in this movie too… I guess if you can't overpower him, oversize him huh? :D
Still, the battles are left to be desired this film.
-
**I'm about 1:06 into the movie…..
HOLY FUCKING EPICNESS**
-
What the heck is Dr. Indigo's power? Funny how for a pirate of his caliber, Shiki only seem to have one chief henchman, Indigo. (The gorilla doesnt' count.)
-
Fuck, anyone know where I can watch One Piece Episode 0 English Subbed? I don't see it on WatchOnePiece.com, and it's not available on Youtube. I want to see it one more time before I really watch the movie….

Go through different versions until one works for you.
Version 4 worked for me. -
Oh no, I'm not talking about the One Piece movie itself, I already have that up and running on WatchOnePiece.com, I mean Episode 0 (the animated version of Chapter 0, which shows the One Piece World 20 years ago.)
-
Oh I see, read it wrongly. :x
How about this?

Yes, That's the right one, Thank You VERY Much. I wanted to watch this before the film and now I can. Thank You Again For Your Help.
Btw, I Love that goddamn MarineFord Waring Siren. Sounds exactly like the one in the Silent Hill movie I watched this morning.
-
Is it just me or is the SAMPLE raw like 3:2 resolution
-
Man, it was really refreshing to see Luffy donning the old Red Vest, Blue shorts ensemble again.
Also, Franky looks best in purple!
EDIT: Also, the bartender at the bar Robin Franky and Brook were at was the same Bartender Nami flirted with in Movie 4.
-
anyone notice the bartender was the same one as from movie 4? he was only in a shot for a second, but it was TOTALLY him.
i hope im not the only one who noticed this. :o
-
I agree with what Greg said completely when he came on our podcast for "The Strongcast RED":
The first third was amazing, the second third was amazing, the middle was so-so.
-
Is it just me or did Brook laughing while shooting the huge gun/bazooka/whatever it was make it sound like the was a psychopath?
Brooke has always been a little cracked, so I'm not surprised if he gets psychopathic tendencies. His high-pitched "yohohohoho" was hilarious in that scene and a couple others in similar action scenes.
-
Brook's laugh at random scenes made me laugh, he was hilarious.
-
I liked the movie, it captured the spirit of One Piece very well, only complaint was that the fights were pretty short and kind of lame, although there were some pretty cool abilities that Shiki possessed.
-
finally finished it after running into cough technical difficulty >.>cough all I can say is….
-
What the heck is Dr. Indigo's power? Funny how for a pirate of his caliber, Shiki only seem to have one chief henchman, Indigo. (The gorilla doesnt' count.)
he can create chemicals, e.g acid
-
I too think the movie is overrated, but still entertaining.
Now after seeing this it's pretty obvious why Impel Down in the anime was shitty…although I would've preferred a little more quality for Impel Down and a little less quality for this (animation-wise at least), but whatever...
