@Sai-chan:
I'm sorry, but… what? x'D It's just as pointless to pair ANYONE in OP with each other. Oda himself stated there wouldn't be any actual romance in it
You actually believe I'm new to Oda and his manga, right? Rule of forums –-> don't let post count fool you.
Besides, how do you define romance? This is a 8yr olds interpretation of romance where you are married just by holding hands. I think what Oda was stating is that there will be no real romance. He never said he's going to avoid making fun of characters just because it'll be misinterpreted as romance... see he's making fun of his childish readers as well. :P
telling people to go read shoujo if that's what they wanted. Hancock is just for humor purposes and a plot device of sorts. But that doesn't stop us. We do it for fun, not for facts. Just ask the people who like Eneru/Nami or Bonney/Law or something.
I'm not a girl, I'm into that side of discussions. I'm actually talking about what may actually happen within the manga… or in my opinion what is currently happening.
And where does it say that you have to think of someone as a sibling to care about them?
Point out to me where I'm suggesting that? I'm only stating the facts:
FACT 1 –--> Nami is nakama ---> friend/crewmate
FACT 2 ----> The author himself has explained that the strawhat crew is more like a family... Luffy himself has considered Ace and Sabo as brothers, they were just his friends. Who can guarantee he doesn't think of his crew in the same way?
FACT 3 Luffy is a monkey, thus he copied Usopp who was really attracted to Nami.
FACT 4 Luffy meant the Hancock hug, he wasn't playing.
Everything else is open to development and theories (which doesn't include Luffy's nosebleed in Arabasta)...
Jimbei and Luffy care about each other, but sure as hell don't consider each other brothers.
Says who? Are you Luffy? All Jimbei has to say is that Ace was like a brother to him –--> Luffy and Jimbei have become brothers... and hasn't Luffy drank sake with his crew on many occasions...?
They're just good friends.
As far as we know… you just never know on OP. I mean Hancock was the enemy at one point.
And besides, Luffy has spent time with Nami more than any other female around his age and cares a great deal about her, and have both gone through a great deal with one another. How is it impossible for feelings to develop?
In the same way nothing but sibling love develops between a sister and brother. I'm not saying it's impossible, but you are trying to force romance on us…. Nami is not Hancock, if LuNa were to develop it'll be true romance, but HaLu or LuHa is just a joke between two exceptionally powerful characters... in my opinion LuNa is simply unworthy of developing considering Nami is so weak and cannot even protect herself much less the child of the next Pirate King...
She rescued him and helped him out, without once thinking of his balls. How is that not caring?
That's right, every firefighter falls in love with those they saved.
Erk. Alvida? Vivi? Nami? What happened to them? Alvida even stated she wanted Luffy.
So?????? Luffy doesn't want her slimy ass.
And two females around the same age as Luffy on a boat together with him for long periods of time?
Why does age matter if there's never going to be anything shown or done on the manga?
With him going out of his way to help said girls with their impossible problems, just cuz he cares?
Who is the excepton then? Didn't Luffy do the same for a bunch of monkeys before/during the Sky island arc?
Basically, any girl who's with Luffy is a possible love interest.
Didn't I say that? But my guess is it'll be the most hilarious pairing, such as LuHa.
Hancock just expresses her lovesickness much more loudly than most girls. Which is mostly for humor purposes.
Romance on OP is supposed to be funny.
Yet she continues to chase after Luffy, even after how many chapters?
The rest of the manga?
I'm not trying to argue, er, I'm just stating what I think.
Of course you are. :D
