Well at least they included the tense vein in the episode, so there should be a ray of hope in that some where.
They did? I was looking for it but I didn't see it…
-
It actually shows two veins. One on his arm and one on his forehead. It shows the one on his arm twice.

When does it happen? At the end when he's running with the others?
-
Sanji will be hitting on all the guys when he gets back, and then Nami will use a Happiness Punch to snap him out of it hahaha
-

Yes it's all at the very end.
First when it starts showing various parts of Sanji. When it shows him holding the high heels you can see the vein on his arm. Then later on you can see it on his face, and at the very end when it shows the picture like from the coverstory it shows it on his arm again.

Thanks for informing me, I'll watch it again later and look out for these. I was too busy reading what he was saying and missed the details. Unfortunately, that happens sometimes when watching a subtitled show for the first time. That's why it's good to watch it more than once I guess.
-
I don't know why the stream isn't working for me, I'll try another broswer. If all else fails, YouTube ahoy!
edit: I don't really watch the anime, so I'll wait for it to come up on Hulu.
-
Two thoughts
1. I've always kinda hated Sanji, so seeing bad things happen to him makes me happy.
2. What the !@#$ is that 'Boost' !@#$ doing in my subs?

Yeah, I also silently facepalmed at the Boost. Most likely it's a forced Toei term, but Funi has gotten rid of it in the dub. When he first appeared, I remember they said both.
-
I know this is the Funimation topic and they don't stream the previews BUT…Wow. Naoki Tate, what's up with that shot of Robin on the ground with her cleavage hanging out like that. If only Sanji were there...that would snap him out off his ordeal.
O-chan
-
while i dont' really care if they call it guard boost or whatever the different forms of chopper they end up using are called, it is kind of weird seeing it "SAY" guard BOOST, when you can clearly hear in english guard point.
-
I didn't even noticed, because I heard Guard Point and ignored.
-
I wouldn't mind seeing seeing Sanji being bi though, it would nice to see a sanjixnamixzoro paring lol overall the episode was hilarious
-
Since this is the simulcast discussion and all I'm just wondering if anyone who is on a Macintosh has been having problems getting the One Piece stream to work? much as I love to watch the simulcast I haven't been able to actually watch the episode there in weeks.
-
Naturally, Tate's drawing looks sloppy.
Usopp's part of the episode made up for the semi-boring Robin portion, though. SUMOSOPP STRIKES BACK!!
-
Ussop's was funny but I could care less about him.
I still love Robin's, even though it was boring. They should have given her an episode by herself.
-
I find that Tate's drawing works well for Robin's story (sooooo much cleavage, that it was odd), but not so well for Usopp's.
-
Well, Robin's was interesting overall I thought, a little moreso than her first installment. Usopp's was better this time as well. Last time we only got like 5 minutes.
Well either way, next episode is what I'm looking forward to more.
-
Usopp's side story reminded me of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. And Usopp is Augustus Gloop.
-
The drawings for Usopps section looked particulary worse than the rest of the episode, although that sideboob bit was ridiculous, Robins story was WAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Hopefully Brooks panty escapades and Zoro dealing with Perona should be more entertaining.
-
The scene in Robin's story when she broke everyone's neck was incredibly disturbing and I totally didn't expect it hahahaha. And I loved the part when Hercule: "You gonna eat that?" and the Usopp: "Yeah right'n'!' great episode
-
Robin's half was ok
There was so much cleavage though, I was almost hoping for nip shot XD
Usopp and Heracles' interactions were the best part of the episode X3 -
I loved Robin's cause Robin was in it lol ok ok but on a serious tip, it was touching to me and my favorite part was when she got out and the look on those two men faces when they found out who she was
-
A now it's time for another installment of Robin's adventures in bondageland:devil:
Seriously though I wonder if Oda was telling the animators to put her in that type of outfit and then have her torture scene peppered with spicy dialogue and witty remarks. My god, years later when Stephanie Young voices this episode is going to be a disturbing combination. Especially after hearing her outtakes from another anime series.O-chan

um ok what?? :ermm:

Did they only release 1 Dub episode again? I'm guessing that they're gonna slow it down since it's catching up to Skypeia.

Yep..
Pretty good episode this week, really enjoyed it.
-
This episode was pretty good overall. Better than the last two anyway. I'm enjoying the cliffhangers on Zoro and Brook's stories.
But… What the heck is this:
"Flashback Special Before Marineford - The Brothers' Oath!" Ugh, I hope it at least has some new material and isn't an _entire_episodededicated to random flashbacks from Alabasta. But if they hint at some things in the current manga arc, I wouldn't mind it.
-
I'm assuming its a flashback from ten years ago.
-
its going to be the last two pages of chapter 549 stretched into an entire episode… ¬_¬
-

Wow. I guess they're making sure that the anime and manga stay a certain distance apart from one another.

Shit. Well as I said, if the hint at some stuff in the current manga arc, it wouldn't be so bad.
For example, Naruto Shippuden went and had this Jiraiya special right before he died showing his past with Nagato/Pain and I believe some of the material was taken from a set of flashback chapters not meant to be shown until later on.
The trick here is to only show enough to peek curiosity, but don't go showing so much that it makes the flashbacks later an entire mess of repeated footage.
Just speculating anyway. Anything would be better than some random clip show.
Wouldn't it be amusing if we had some dumb mini arc in between Marineford along the lines of the Apis Arc where it was like "I gotta save Ace! …but first I gotta save this snot nosed kid from random adrift pirate who happened to make his way past the gates of justice for no adequately explored reason."
-

Maybe they'll dip a bit into current manga material, show canon from 549 and a small glimpse into the more recent manga chapters. That could work, show a little bit of that now (peek curiosity) and cover the whole story once the War is over.

Precisely. Actually, I'd be very curious to see that done.
Only question at hand is whether or not it would be a good thing to show Sabo now or later.

Wouldn't be a good thing to fully show Sabo.
Hinting at him in the flashback, that's fine. Keeps curiosity up, but doesn't completely ruin it for the anime-only fans.

But how would they do that though? Have him talk through a silhouette, or just show the silhouette and have him stay silent? Or maybe just referencing him by name would be best.

Saying the name's fine. Be just like how he's going to be introduced to the story anyway. We'll just hear of him
! before Ace dies

Yeah, that's a good point.
-
Am I the only one that really enjoyed the part where Luffy moving was enough to stop Crocodile and Jimbei dead in their tracks?
-

That was pretty cool. I'm not sure why Crocodile would listen to Luffy, but we've seen hints in the coming arc that he seems to have at least a mild respect for him at this point.
-
Well, let's see. Last time they met, Crocodile impaled him, poisoned him, nearly drained him dry, and buried him alive. Luffy came back from all that and gave him a beat down that landed him in prison.
By this point Crocodile must realize that working against Luffy is not in his best interests.
There is a top dog on that boat and it isn't either of the Warlords.
-
That's a good point Charagon.
I saw the preview for next episode and the flashback will have new material. It looks like a few panels will be taken from the manga stuff before Sabo joined, but I can't tell really. Also looks like they're going to animate (possibly) some of Ace's coverstory stuff? Or maybe that one shot was just a reanimated scene of when he beat all those Billions guys.
-
I've got question. It's probably been answered, but: Why doesn't the simulcast include episode previews? I'm tired of going to youtube to find the preview.
-
Probably because Fuji owns the previews and/or because FUNimation receives their video masters before they are created.
-
@Yuugi's:

Both are true, actually, but they're easy to find on Fuji's website:

EDIT: By the way, Google Translator picked up the basic translation of the next episode, I'll post it in Japanese too:

Luffy, Ace and the memories were back. Play together, eat a meal, fought with …. However, the ace, but losing that someone was still incredible.

Crappy google translation aside, it looks like we'll be getting a hint of Sabo after all… that makes me excited. I just hope they don't go and spoil who he is and what actually happened, or it would make the flashback later on boring.
-
From the parts I saw of the new episode I noticed they spell "Paramecia" correctly now. Back in Amazon Lily it was spelled "Paramythia", now it's the right way.
-
After watching the Alabasta flashback in this episode, it made me wonder why Ace was given clothes during the filler section. His body protects him from heat based stuff (much like AO and his ice ability).
