Does anyone else find it easier to follow the Anime then the Manga? I just find it much easier to remember smaller events & characters in the Anime.
Does Anyone Else Have This Same Problem?

Of course, they're there longer and in color. It only makes sense that an image may hold less effect than a segment of animation.
-
Its a given, the anime lengthens what the manga gives. Of course you'll understand better in the anime than the manga, since sometimes you get crappy translations in the manga
-
If I ever have trouble following the manga, it's only because I was looking at a bad scan with a bad translation, and I was so excited about the new chapter that I went through it too fast.
-
Ya, cause I'm having trouble remembering all the people like Mr.8 & all those guys.
-
I rarely have that problem. Know why? Because I have a great imagination, it's almost child-like at times. Who needs color or moving pictures when you have your IMAGINATION~!

But yeah, the only time when I have trouble is when I can't read the chapter.

Sometimes I'm only able to follow fights in animes better than manga, since you can clearly see the fighting sequences. Try and compare the final blow on Crocodile, which is better: anime or manga?
-
I have printed out Ivotas' Character FAQ under the manga and refer to it regularly. It helps keep the characters straight. Why don't you give that a go and see if it helps?
@game2005 I actually loved both for different reasons. Seeing the scene animated with colour and all rocked but the manga allowed you to fill in the gaps yourself http://groups.msn.com/OnePieceMangav-3/volume23.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=4370 - brilliant

No problems from me. I can follow both perfectly without any trouble. Oda has that much talent. Actually, the animà (when not making fillers) is so insanely accurate compared to the manga that you might as well read the manga in color. At least that's the way I feel. Of course, some things in the animà beats some things in the manga, however, it's also the other way around.
Nope. Don't have that problem.
-
I had that problem too, but that's because I'm impatient and read through it fast as I want to know what happens right away.
-
i can almost always follow the manga pretty well. remembering names on teh other hand im not so good at since i have no memory for names even for real people it takes me a long time to get names down

It's a seriously bad comicing if you need imagination for reading…
I haven't really ever had this problem, although it does depend on how good is an author - I don't know many who had problems on following Calvin and Hobbes. I would imagine it's probably just a matter of getting accustomed to the medium, to comics I mean. Try read straight from paper, most of the comics aren't made for a screen as cartoons are (like think of a painting, a real thing always makes much deeper impression than a mare photo would do). I'm always bad with these cartoon things, I don't follow them enough to have a valid opinion.

I figured out pretty quick that things stuck better when I didn't read like… 50 chapters in a day. I've been caught up with the manga for over two years and I remember everything just fine now, but when I was getting into it, I finished about right at the end of Jaya in the space of about five days and I could barely remember a thing 'till I went back and reread it more slowly.
So there :p

You can't judge of online scans.
If you havn't seen it in book form than you havn't seen it. -
I've seen it in book already, and it's good, though the anime makes it better all because of that background music playing.
-
A good thing about the manga is that you scan stare at a cool picture as long as you want because it doesn't move. The anime, on the other hand, uses background music and animations to add more dramatic and 'hard' feel into it that makes you go "WHOA!"
-
I once forgot that I have never seen an episode of one piece, just read manga, because i remeber things animated and in color… weird huh?
-
Bad scans'll do that to a person. I remember having trouble once in a while reading the scans on the infamous MSN group. The solution I found later on: Stay away from that site. :/
-
the main villain are scans of inferior quality… and this stuff about music: i liked the ringing of the GoldenBell more in the manga than in the anime (only saw the raw)
and crocs fight in the manga is just absurd of soo much coolness. /me dun like anime much

No…....most of the time a manga is far superior to the manga. Plus, I find it easier if you forget a characters name in manga, you can look on that page, and there it is...if you miss it in anime, you have to wait for them say it all over again...

Yes totally.. it's always pretty vague in my head after reading the manga, while after seeing it in anime form it's very vivid. Maybe a little exception is with the raw+translations, because of all the after-talk that happens. I also seem to 'miss' lotsa details when I read the manga (things that other people do seem to notice) but I think I'm getting better at that.
I do appreciate the manga more because it's Oda's original canon, while the parts Toei makes up on their own are vastly inferior, but the anime is a more complete experience for me.
@Makoiryu:No…....most of the time a manga is far superior to the manga.
Maybe, but similarly the anime is often also superior to the anime.

Just click back to where they last mentionned the name. But anyway, this is just personal preference. Some like the manga better, some the anime. That's how it is.
-
What do you mean "click" back? What if I'm not watching a tape or DVD? I've never had that problem with Manga though
-
I only watch anime in fansubs on my PC.. so click back means you just go back in your media player.
Oh and you just gave me the impression you're watching the dub.. yeah ofcourse the manga is 10x better, you have to watch the fansubs..
-
I meant anime…...I think that manga will always be better than anime. It shows the feeling a lot better and has the artist's heart in it. And is how they intended it to be.
