@Badass:
The only reason I have them is for the out of battle situations. I'm gonna delete them, but I need something good to replace them.
Thunderpunch and either Bite or Crunch respectively.

Yep. Ever since I was a little kid, I hated the Staus affecting moves. So I just never used them. Guess that carried over.
Yeah, my best friend was like that.
Got his ass kicked by me too many times.
Then again, he used his Pokémon wrong.

How did he use them?
@Badass:
How did he use them?
Wrongly of course.
Current team as of Olivera city
Sudowoodo (Flail/Low Kick/Rock Throw/Mimic)
Croconaw(Headbutt/ice fang/Bite/Water gun)
Pidgeotto(Whirlwind/sand attack/Gust/Quick attack)
Raticate(Focus/Bite/Sucker punch/Pursuit)
Machop(Low kick/Karate chop/leer/seismic toss)
Hoothoot(hypnosis/uproar/peck/foresight)
@Badass:
Ok. I got to the Elite Four. Beat all of them. And now I'm stuck at Lance. That Lv. 50 Dragonite's the problem, and his Outrage. :getlost: And what's worse is that I know I would be able to beat it if I'd be able to attack first. The problem is that Dragonite ALWAYS makes the first move, and there's nothing I can do about it.
Here's my current team:
Typhlosion Lv.42 (Cut/Flamethrower/Fire Blast/Blast Burn)
Ampharos Lv.41 (Charge Beam/Strength/Discharge/Thunder)
Noctowl Lv.37 (Fly/Zen Headbutt/Shadow Ball/Hyper Beam)
Quagsire Lv.35 (Surf/Whirlpool/Rock Smash/Waterfall)
Mamoswine Lv.38 (Powder Snow/Blizzard/Avalanche/Mud Bomb)
Gligar Lv.42 (Iron Tail/Dark Pulse/X-Scissor/Earthquake)Any advice?
X speed your Mamoswine so you can just 1-hit all of his Dragonites before they can do anything
Well. Over the weekend I pretty much pwned the E4 (Lance's Aerodactyl was the only problem one.) and am currently pwning my way through Kanto (although slowly.)
Team as of now:
Typhlosion: lvl 57
Taurus: lvl 55
Scyther: lvl 58
Hitmonchan: lvl 60
Bellossom: lvl 58
Cloyster: lvl 59
I tend to have a variety of pokes on hand these days. Currently trying to flesh out my pokedex a little more.
So I'm changing out and retraining a different team for Kanto. My team so far though some changes will be made, it's just what I had in my computer that I wanted plus some that were preferred.
Riolu lvl 10(Trying to get his happiness up early with a soothe bell and having him as first in line)
Larvitar lvl 17
Eevee lvl 5(Don't know what I'm going to evolve him into this time, am open for suggestions)
Dragonair lvl 44
Croconaw lvl 21
Turtwig lvl 1
X speed your Mamoswine so you can just 1-hit all of his Dragonites before they can do anything
Thanks. I'll try that next time I face him. I'm gonna level up all my pokemon to at least level 48 before challenging Lance and the E4 again.
My jolteon and charizard rape the E4 now at level 59 and level 52. My level 44 dragonair actually beat Lance's level 50 dragonite because he missed twice and I dragon rushed twice. :P

You don't even need X Speed if you use Ice Shard. Priority, baby.

Looks like I'll have to go to the Move relearner again. Replacing Powder Snow for Ice Shard.
Hear Heart Scale, Heart Scale…

Ew. You should manly man it like me! Level 43 Pokemon and on Set Mode.

For Mamoswine, Ice Shard and Ice Fang are WORLDS better than Powder Snow and Ice Beam. Its Attack stat is like double its Special Attack stat.
i accidentally fought the cianwood gym leader.
almost won though if Poliwrath didnt keep using focus punch alot
I saw a Shiny Caterpie in the Bug Catching contest today =3
That Shiny Caterpie then went on to win said Bug Catching contest.
Also caught a Shiny Koffing before….
so are Shiny pokes easier to get in this one?

Supposedly the odds are exactly the same, still 1 in 8600. But the coding is related to the trainer id and a combination of factors in the critter.
The right id miiiight just trigger them a wee bit easier.
Or you might have just been really lucky. I still haven't seen one, and I'm about 100 hours in. (And didn't see one all of last game either, and that was about 200 hours. Got a shiny Oddish in Sapphire tho…)
I have yet to see a single non-Red Gyarados Shiny since they were first introduced.
I got me a green Tentacruel, pink Crobat, and amber Donphan.
Urgh, I can basically handle most of Red's team right now, but seems like I'm weak to his Venusaur… I can handle Pikachu, Lapras and Blastoise with ease, and Charizard and Snorlax aren't that much of a problem, it's just that dang Venusaur... Also trying not use any use many healing items, just the max revives I've picked up so like 7 of them.
My team is:
Lapras lv 52
Togekiss lv 53
Ampharos lv 52
Typhlosion lv 52
Sudowoodo lv 52
Mamoswine (of course) lv52
I guess I'll raise them a level or two before I try again.
Oh, and I've only ever run into a Red Dusclops and ended catching it with a master ball as it was the only ball I had with me~
@Cyan:

Would you be willing to part with that Donphan?
Oh, and I've only ever run into a Red Dusclops and ended catching it with a master ball as it was the only ball I had with me~
That's what masterballs are for. Legends you can keep re-trying, but shinies are a one time, just might run away or die sort of situation.
I always tend to use my Masterballs on one of those annoying 'running' pokemon. Usually Lati*s
I just imported two extra Masters from Leaf and Fire. Raikou and Entei never stood a chance.
@robbybedfart:
Would you be willing to part with that Donphan?
It was on a past Leafgreen file. Right now it's roaming around in XD, and I don't have the cable anymore.

Ah I know, and catching legendaries the hard way is my style, but I just like to use the masterball for those running legendaries.
I think it was a week or two ago, while I was training my Swinub for half an hour or so, I ran into Entei 3 times and Raikou twice. I even managed to catch Entei with a quick ball… Kinda amazed me at the time~
I haven't encountered any random shiny Pokemon since Silver, though I chained myself a yellow Shinx recently. My friend however, encountered a shiny Vulpix in her SoulSilver. It used Roar. >______>
I only had a Shinny meowht, back in the days of GS. It was from a friend, and we managed to clone it.
Ah, the days when cloning wasn't rocket science with all this Wi-Fi hubbub.
I've never had the luck to encounter a shiny outside of a Japanese ROM for Silver… Oh, yes, I did, Shiny Noctowl. Great Marsh.
But I contracted Pokerus TWICE independently...
Heads up folks! The 'Winner's Path' course on the Poke-Walker is available on Wi-Fi from tomorrow so yaay!
My Mamoswine cannot relearn Ice shard. :(
Looks like I'll have to go with Ice Fang.
Also, reading the Bulbapedia entry on it was confusing, so can someone explain Pal Park to me?
@Badass:

With Pal Park you can transfer Pokemon from your Pokemon GBA games (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Fire Red, Leafgreen) to the DS Pokemon games. You have to have the GBA game inserted into the DS for it to work. After you've transferred the pokemon (you transfer up to six at a time) you go to the Pal Park and catch them. The Pal Park itself is divided into segments and the pokemon will go to the various segments depending on what type they are. For example, a Geodude will be in the mountain segment and a Caterpie will be in the Forest segment (I think). The good part of it is as soon as you run into the pokemon you just have to throw the ball since it has a 100% catch rate. The downside is that you can't transfer your pokemon back into the GBA game.
I hope that helps.
Oh, okay. Thanks, Nobodyman.
Haven't owned a handheld Pokemon game since the original Silver, but I gave in and bought Soulsilver.
Only beat the first gym but so far the game is great. Has Kangaskhan always been great? I caught one with my Pokewalker and it's a beast! Only complaint so far are the crappy HMs and having to catch useless pokemon to make them HM whores.
Kangaskhan has always been pretty good. Basically a defensive Tauros, stat-wise. In the current generation it's far from top-tier or even mid-tier, though….
Kanga is pretty awesome yeah. Especially early game when you can get him now (if you have poke-walker that is.)
I think that they pretty much get replaced by Taurus and Miltank later in the game. And again by Snorlax and Chansey. But its all your choice really.
Kangaskhan is one of my personal favorite Pokemon. Teach it endure and reversal and when it gets to one HP it's pretty much unstoppable if its speed is good.

Would anyone be willing to trade with me so I can evolve my Magmar? Friend Code is 1806 5004 2382.

Thanks for reminding me,I forgot about it.
How can I trade with someone?
I have a DS Lite, am I still eligible?
You have one of those fancy-schmancy Nintendo Wi-Fi adapters?
No. What are those?
@Badass:
No. What are those?
Little USB thing you plug into your computer that let's you access Ninty's special Wi-Fi (Think Xbox LIVE, but free and with less retards).
I think the release of the little buggers has been halted, though…
Oh, okay thanks.
Man it's been awhile since I've been on.
Well I'm enjoying Soul Silver.
My good old Team is
Feraligatr level 90
Torterra level 72
Noctowl level 72
Swampert level 57
Lugia level 54
Pichu level 51.
I really need to train Swampert, Lugia and Pichu more…...
I also traded a Unkown for a Torchic in Wi-fi trade.
How the hell do you keep a Pichu at level 51 without evolving it?
Through sheer hate?
It's the shiny pichu from game stop. I don't know if I should evolve it.

Thanks for the info. Think I'll keep Kangaskhan and get a Snorlax later.
Can't believe I like normals now. I avoided them like the plague when I first got into Pokemon.
@Cyan:

B button. Everstone. Trade it a lot so it hates you.
It's the shiny pichu from game stop. I don't know if I should evolve it.
Have you unlocked the notch eared pichu already?
If you have, there's (probably) no reason to hold it back anymore. There might still be an event of some sort with shiny pichu, but nothings happened in Japan yet and their events are 6 months ahead of ours…
As is, you can only really tell its shiny with Red Raichu, the other colors are so damn similar to normal.
