This is probably the greatest ending for a fighting game. You cannot help but admire Ryu's dedication and passion to the fight.

Either way all YOU'RE gonna post are endings of video games from the 90s/early 2000s.
Also just realized you actually said Arigato.. and feel that a video game character can express emotions and feelings.
Eh, enough bashing. Can't really think of an amazing video game ending for now.. Most of the time, I was more pissed at the fact that the game ended and did not realize how good/bad the ending was.
Beside Halo 2 which I played after 3, I'm a huge fan but 2's ending is just.. ugh. Atleast I didn't play it BEFORE Halo 3, I would've been even MORE pissed
Yahahaha! Tou-fucking-che.
I can't think of anything else.

I have been much less invested in games since 2007. I guess it is a bit normal.
I do not find it wrong when there are emotions in an ending. Movies are not reality either but we love it when there is an emotional core.
MGS4 ending was good.
I was dissapointed by Resident evil 5 ending. It felt empty for the least.
I have to say that God of War 3 ending was really epic.
Street fighter 4 endings were rather short and unsatisfying. I am hoping they are gonna make them better in the next edition.
In terms of story:
Killer7
Silent Hill Shattered Memories
Too bad, no one played them.
-Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter
-Devil May Cry 3
… Can't think of anything else.
Ocarinia of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess all had awesome endings. I wasn't too impressed with Wind Waker's tho too.
Heavy Rain's ending was pretty decent too. Considering that you more or less get an ending tailored to your fuck ups etc.
There are definitely more too but I can't recall them atm.

Pro Wrestling from the NES days had the greatest ending of all time! OF ALL TIME!
God, you people are SHIT!
We love you too.

I didn't play Killer7, but I agree that Shattered Memories had a great ending. Did you get the good one? The game really knocks on your head at the thought of being a good parent.
-Silent Hill 2 (any ending)
-Bayonetta (I was smiling non-stop, from the punch to the sun to a certain OTHER character still being alive)
-Final Fantasy 6 (endless tears)
-Final Fantasy 9 (more endless tears)
-Diablo II (Baal's epic twist)
-Bioshock II (so much more redeeming than Bioshock 1's ending)

Hey now. I'm not done with it yet.
-Silent Hill 2 (any ending)

Yes yes and yes. The other games I haven't played, so can't talk about them.
Especially Silent Hill 2 had a twist that almost broke my heart. I still remember the scene right before the final fight where you walk down the long corridor and you hear your wife's voice pleading. Damn.
Other endings that I can think of at the top of my head are "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time", "Shadow of the Colossus" and MGS 3. I liked it way more than the ending of it's successor MGS 4, and I will never forgive them, making me kill off The Boss in such a way. I kept standing there for 10 minutes, before I actually got myself to do it.
Special mention goes out to
on the SNES. Not only is the Boss Battle the ultimate terror for me to this day (just listen to the boss battle music, holy shit), but I still shed a tear for the Metroid. They got me to form an emotional bond with a goddamn parasitic alien, that looks like a jellyfish with fangs to suck out my brains. That's how good it is. Not much of an ending story, but it was beautifully executed.Ocarinia of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess all had awesome endings. I wasn't too impressed with Wind Waker's tho too.
Heavy Rain's ending was pretty decent too. Considering that you more or less get an ending tailored to your fuck ups etc.

Really? You enjoyed watching Link get fucked over every which way? I loved the games, and the story too for what it meant for being a hero. However, those endings were pretty depressing, and Link got royally screwed in Ocarina of Time.
Sonic Adventure 1 - E102 Gamma Ending.
Made me shed a tear. Only game I think that has made me do that so far.
Oh and Metal Gear Solid 3
Dragon Quest VIII - 2nd endidng
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy X
WoW - Downin the Lich King
Those were the best :D
Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Oh wa–

FFX's best part of the ending was Auron being sent. That was epic.
I still love the ending to Links Awakening, short though it is.
FFVI & IX are good, chrono trigger's developer ending is quite fun.

Oh my God! I completely forgot about MGS3! That's another good one.
I love the Boss, and I don't think she's appreciated enough.
MGS4's ending was okay, but what was happening during the climax (everyone fighting while Snake is going through a certain hallway) was far better. Also, the visiting of a certain place and the music that comes with it.

I agree. The final battle of MGS3 was memorable with the beautiful flower fields. The revelation was one of the most emotional twist ever. Naruto series ripped of the ending.
My favourite part was the hallway as well. It was intense like hell. I actually prefer the ending when we thought Snake shot himself and when Otacon teared and said he will not come back.
MGS3 was a great ending. Game was great. My favorite MGS
Everything about it was such a good fucking choice.
Back to work..
Zelda 3 had a great ending. The actual STORY resolution was minor and whatever… but then as the credits rolled the camera panned over the entire game, showing EVERY character again, giving you a chance to relive the quest again shorthand.
Mario World was similar.
FF 6, 8 and 9 all had good endings.
Mario RPG's ending was nice too. Only thing I remember was the cool fireworks. But I do remember it was worth the trip

I was pretty confused when Squall was lost in the space time or whatever. I started loving the ending when "Eyes on me" started and when you were seeing the party. Seeing Squall smile was symbolic and great.
I think 9 ending was great because every characters came to an answer and they were developed until the end.
My favourite part was the hallway as well. It was intense like hell. I actually prefer the ending when we thought Snake shot himself and when Otacon teared and said he will not come back.
I would have prefered a far more dramatic ending like Meryl or Otacon shooting Snake FOR him, kind of replaying the death of the Boss.
But seriously, the hallway was amazing.
[hide]
I was torn during the scene. I was screaming at Snake to hurry up because Johnny and Meryl were on the verge of death, but at the same time, I didn't want Snake to die. And of course, one by one I started panicing for everyone.
And then they showed Raiden, and I didn't care what happened to him. He could have died at that spot, and I'd be happy.

Yes, MGS4's ending was phenomenally done. The hallway, the final fight, Snake at the graveyard, perfect. After that it was still good but not as epic as it was being before. I like MGS2's ending as well, though I forget what happens at the end of MGS3 after the final fight  .
Another one is Heavy Rain. I know it has more than one ending but the ending I got,
! where every character survives until the end and Ethan is shot by the police I absolutely loved.

Go watch it. Now.
It was so beautifully done. Still brings a tear to my eye.
I'm practically beating a dead horse here, but…MGS3 and 4. I shed many manly tears. Especially when this started playing.

One of the greatest moments in gaming history.

Ugh…Carter Blake. I fucking hated that guy more than the actual Origami Killer. Even though it would've gone against what Heavy Rain was trying to do, I REALLY wish there was a scene where Jayden is given the choice to kill him. I sure as hell would have. Anyway, how does that ending go? I've played the game twice, and had everything go almost exactly the same.
! Only difference was that Madison wasn't at the warehouse the first time because I couldn't find the password. The police never showed up either, for some reason.
Oh shit, him saluting The Boss' grave. Damn, I need to go watch the full ending again.
And S-F:
! I think that if you don't find out who the killer is when you play as Jayden then the police won't show up. The ending I got is that everybody shows up at the warehouse to save Ethan's kid, The OK does his little monologue about his motives and is about to shoot Ethan but is stopped somehow that I can't remember. Him and Jayden fight it out while the girl (I can't remember the characters' names for some reason :ermm: ) is arrested for trying to get inside. Jayden knocks the OK into some type of grinder, killing him. As Ethan I took my kid but set him down in front of the exit and when I walked outside I was shot by the police. Then it goes on to what the other characters do after the event.
Ok, thanks.
! @Kairouseki:
! > I think that if you don't find out who the killer is when you play as Jayden then the police won't show up.
! I don't think that's the case, since he figured it out. Plus, when he was leaving to the warehouse, Blake says "Yeah, we're bringing in a helicopter."
! > The OK does his little monologue about his motives and is about to shoot Ethan but is stopped somehow that I can't remember.
! Jayden shows up and starts chasing him. …I think. At least that's how it went for me.
! > Him and Jayden fight it out while the girl (I can't remember the characters' names for some reason :ermm: ) is arrested for trying to get inside.

I loved MGS2 ending as well.
It was sorta confusing when I was younger but when you grow it is actually pretty meaningful. I was touched by Snake's revealing his reason to live.
I did not hate Raiden that much. It was cool to team up with Snake. You realize what makes him such a great character.
I liked the Conker's Bad Fur Day Ending. I don't know, it just keeps up the goofyness of the game as a whole, but still has the serious sobering end.

Interesting fact. I was okay with him in MGS2.
MGS4 was when he turned all depressed with Rose and shit.
"I'm a mosnter! Look at us in the mirror! We might as well be Beauty and the Beast."
YOU'RE FUCKING PRETTY THAN HER, AND YOU'RE A GUY! Granted, he might not mean physical beauty. He might instead mean the horrible things he had to do. SHUT UP! Snake did worse, and you don't see him bitching about it.

The fact that Raiden was a pansy (like any of us would be if were sent into a battlefield).
The player realizes how important it is to have such a great veteran like Snake. How reliable he is,how interesting and calm he is.
Raiden was obviously learning from Snake during the whole story. He was sorta becoming more like Snake.
Usually, when we start something difficult like "street fighter 2". It is a pain and we look miserable. SInce, Raiden is a beginner it is normal that he looks pathetic and clueless.
Personally, I was not surprised one bit when Raiden was a cool ninja in MGS4. That was predictable. I remember discussing with Fans wishing they would control him. I still prefer snake in any cases.
Final Fantasy IX

Half Life 2. I want to know who the hell the Gman is.
Not only one of my most beloved games of all time, but an ending that is both hysterical and tragic.
