I don't know how to spell execuit
But why did they kill him. is it when they become king they get killed? O.o
Why was gold roger execuited
-
-
Well… because he's a pirate. An outlaw. And when you're a high profile pirate, the government will be more inclined to execute you to give a warning to other pirates.
-
what i'm wondering is why he let himself be executed?
as powerful as he is, i'm sure he could've escaped if he wanted to. -
well people have many theories.
some think it was staged so gold roger could make a great age of pirates.
but theres something that i want to point out.
look at these marines do they look like normal marines?
not only that but they were pretty panicky and wanted to shut him up when he started talking about one piece.
so those guys could just be people after it and it wasent staged who knows.
or maybe they are marines and they dident want infromation about one piece being given because it would bring a great age of pirates.
but i think if he was caught by marines that ao kiji caught him.(because for now i dont know what the other admirals do).
but that ao kiji thing ties into other theories people have about gold roger being luffys grandfather because ao kiji talks about dealing with luffys grandfather.
or he gave himself up to start a great age of pirates by talking about one piece at the gallows.
but i believe hes dead mainly because of Gold D. Roger's will in Drum.

Saying that, have the police or the fireman, in real life, had the same uniform for the past 22 years? nope, so why would the marines in this op world?
-
My theory is that they had someone that Roger loved as a hostage…
-
maybe roger found one piece and told everyone that he had it and put it somewhere. but the real fact is that luffy is really destined to find it. or someone related to luffy but they never got far enough along to get one piece. roger isnt that predictable.
-
it's like I said in the OP- out of context thread…..
Gold Roger likes a bit of bondage! XD -
Hmm…. that could be a possibility. Perhaps they found Roger's family. After all, he does say "Why would I escape now?" when he asks one of the executioners to remove his cuff.
... or maybe Roger was bored, having seen and done everything, tamed the Grand Line, established One Piece, learned the ancient language, probably even went to Skypeia and sailed all four seas, not to mention explored the Red Line on foot. When one is Pirate King, he probably got alot of wannabe's and rivals comming up to challenge him everyday. So.. he probably turned himself in. After all.. they say Death is just another great adventure.
Of course.. I doubt they found his family, since those who carry the name of D. have it in the middle of their name, probably to protect family from being targeted. So, I'm sticking to the 'Gol D. Roger turned himself in' schtick. Heck, he probably turned himself in to Ao Kiji, telling him all this. Catching the Pirate King sounds like an instant promotion so that is probably why Ao Kiji owes Gol D. Roger... or something like that.

But why did they kill him. is it when they become king they get killed? O.oThey simply executed a wanted criminal, it's not that strange really. And him becoming 'king', I see quite some confusion about this fact.. it's a title of respect just like how people call Elvis "the king". It's not like anyone nominated and voted Roger king, or that there was an actual day that had a coronation ceremony. It was his 'nickname' or 'title' or whatever you want to call it, because he was the greatest of them all.. and it spawned a legend that when you get his One Piece treasure, you will inherit the title of Pirate King. It's nothing official like Shichibukai, but like I said a title of the highest respect amongst pirates.

I think Gol D. Roger after doing everything travelling all the World and being in the Shandora City of Gold he made everything he wanted too do, so he gave himself up
There is no way that any one could have taken Gol D. Roger down and nobody know about it, evryone knowns that WhiteBeard was the only one to tie a fight with Gol D. Roger, if someone would have taken him would that person be even more known that WhiteBeard himself
And after reading the last Poneglyph "True History" he realized that for people to make their dreams come they need motivation so he created "One Piece" and finally he made himself a exemple that many young boys will follow (Luffy being the main one)
This is somehow also related to the fact that Dragon wants to take down the W.G.
So Gol D. Roger might thought that by sacrificing himself he would make things change for the good of all and this was his last dream that will come true with Luffy finding "One Piece"
But going back to the first question, he was executed because he knew too much and represented a huge danger for te W.G. that's why they didn't even let him finish what he was going to say before he was executed

I'd lose all respect for the guy if he did in fact give himself up.. I sure hope he didn't. My guess is a combined effort of a whole lot of marines and top fighters finally got the best of him.

funny. it's the other way around for me. i'd respect him more if he gave himself up because he had a goal that only his death could achieve. but if the marines "whupped his ass" then my regard for him would definitely go down several notches.
though i understand how you feel, it wouldn't have been great if he went down fighting some epic battle.

thats what i think to and i dont think this he was the strongest in the world talk meant that he was miles away from every other figher and impossibel to beat,
there may have been marines who was almost at his level and if he and a couple of other top ranking guys plus some warships attacked him he could very well lose.and thats what i think happend.

I remember a good theory way back when (and I like this theory) is that a good friend of Gol D. Roger's was a marine, and that marine captured him, either by fighting and subduing, Gol D. Roger going easy on him and losing, or simply Gol D. Roger not wanting to hurt his friend.
-
well he didn't look any worse for wear during that execution scene to me,
granted they may have given him the chance to clean up, but i figure he'd have a bruise or a cut if he resisted capture. -

I agree with that. It would support the luffy, coby senerio.

i could acctauly see that happening,
and the same thing could happen with Luffy and Coby prehaps ?
EDIT dammit octagon beat me to it:laugh: -
Imagine if, at one point, Ao Kiji was in Coby's shoes…
Probably not, but... IMAGINE IT!

Actually I was thinking, sengoku anyone? That could explain how he got his position, since it doesn't seem like one you could get by normal means.

If this were to be the case, I think Sengoku would be the best option to be "the Coby"
Well just a little question whose the strongest man in One Piece isn't it WhiteBeard (I think Oda made that clear)
So if Gol D. Roger fought WhiteBeard and tied, he would be the same strenght then WhiteBeard or even stronger, so there is no way that he could be weaker
Also if Gol D. Roger was capture by the W.G. that would make him go down on the being the greatest pirate of all times to being just another Great pirate the W.G. caught
So I think he gave himself up for some reason that was very important
