Am I the only one that loved the vegetarian duck vampire?
Most likely.
…..................................
-
No, you're not alone, Cosmic. XD I was also a big Duckula fan back in the day, but I don't think I'll be picking these up anytime soon. =(
But I've always wondered, why was Nanny's arm always in that sling? I can't remember clearly, was it like a running gag with her getting injured or was it just part of her look? XD
-
I think I remember him but not too much XD. I need to refresh my memory…
-
Most likely.
…..................................
XD
The only episode I remember is where he gets trapped on some ultra cute sugary planet that scared the hell out of me.
-
Most likely.
Bzzzt! Wrong answer. No Cupie doll for you.
But I've always wondered, why was Nanny's arm always in that sling? I can't remember clearly, was it like a running gag with her getting injured or was it just part of her look?
I really don't remember, it's been a long time. It was probably because she was always walking through walls.
There's a trailer on the website, which is actually the opening theme. The show was actually a spin-off of Danger Mouse, which was also a very cartoon. I used to have a bunch of sound clips on my computer, which I have now lost. =(Maybe I should have just started a general "cartoons of the 80's" thread instead since I imagine I could start quite a few of these.
-
Is that Vincent Price in the intro? Man, did he get roped into a bunch of lame side-jobs. XD (shot)
-
As cool as Duckula was…
Count Chocula and Blacula > Duckula

As cool as Duckula was…
Count Chocula and Blacula > Duckula
How did you get Duckula from adding Chocula and Blacula??
Duckula was cool, although I don't remeber much about it.
-
I have some memories of him from my childhood.
-
I have very, VERY vague memories of the series from when I was younger. This should be interesting to see!
-
How did you get Duckula from adding Chocula and Blacula??
In comparing comical vampires.
-
Awww heck yeah! I loved that show! That and Dangermouse. XD
-
holy shit.
I remember this.
-
I was a pre-teen when I watched the show, so I remember it pretty well, but not too many details from individual episodes. Just the characters and funny things here and there. I loved Danger Mouse too. But I was a bit younger when I watched that.
-
I used to watch this when I was a kid!
LOVED the ending theme.
when your knees go knockknockknock, when your teeth go BRRRR -
I watch that show back when Nick was …...Nick. I liked the first episode with with the saxophone from Egypt.
He was different from his Danger Mouse counterpart. His weakness was rotten food.
-
Yeah, he was changed quite a bit from Danger Mouse. He also used to have a speech impediment like Daffy Duck. I remember that episode where he was after the "Mystic Stick", and how he said it like the Mysssthhhhhtic Ssssthhick. And he always wanted his own show.
-
One of the great things about the invention of DVDs is they're putting almost everything on DVDs. Including Count Duckula.=)
Yeah, he was changed quite a bit from Danger Mouse.–CosmicDebris
Yeah, I believe he was an actually vampire in Danger Mouse and the became a vegetarian in his own series
Maybe I should have just started a general "cartoons of the 80's" thread instead since I imagine I could start quite a few of these.
It's a good idea, but if you do, it'll probably be too diluted. Picking one topic to talk about gives the subject more focus
I remember the series from Nickelodeon too. If my memory serve me correctly, the pidgeon nanny always had a broken wing.
-
I had a feeling you watched this show!
Yeah, I believe he was an actually vampire in Danger Mouse and the became a vegetarian in his own series.
I don't remember if his diet was ever discussed in Danger Mouse.
The thing that I always thought was funny was how Igor was always really bummed that he got stuck serving a vegetarian and was always trying to think of some scheme to get him to be a real bloodsucking vampire again. XDIt's a good idea, but if you do, it'll probably be too diluted. Picking one topic to talk about gives the subject more focus
Well, my thinking was that there are some shows that just weren't popular enough to get a lot of discussion. Duckula might be one of them, especially at this point since even those of us who remember it, don't remember it too well. I haven't seen the show in 10-15 years.
I think there definately should be a He-Man and the Masters of the Universe thread though. XD I already started a Transformers one, but that hasn't been active for a while.
-
i barely remember that. i was much more into mister mask.
-
I don't remember Mister Mask…
