@Yonkou#3:
Really? That thing that blows shit up and breaks things is intangible?
You are retarded.
Internal damage was minor…because it wasn't that strong an attack.
Yonkou#3
Oh. But still..brilliant stuff.
I agree with lightning ace. I believe that is what oda was trying to convey, that it was never ment to be a powerful enough attack to kill. It doesnt matter anyway when we had
and no confirmed deaths.
Yeah Lightning Ace it is pretty rad. I'm about to change it now so if you want, scoop it up.
Ok sorry… he is dead and will stay dead.
Sorry that I have my doubts after reading OP since the beginning and seeing fodder and other surviving stuff which are as cruel as that.
you're not the only one who has doubts. Doubts still linger in my mind…i still want him to be alive..i really do....but i also realise it'd be a big cop-out if he wasn't dead

He just conditioned the readers' minds that no one could die to bring out this kind of impact to all avid OP readers. Brilliant … so F'in Brilliant.;
@Yonkou#3:
That scar is immensly badass
You are retarded.
No you. Misses the days when we stood back to back in debate. R.I.P Ace/Spawn Combo.
you're not the only one who has doubts. Doubts still linger in my mind…i still want him to be alive..i really do....but i also realise it'd be a big cop-out if he wasn't dead
Yeah I agree with you that Ace has to stay dead… and tis time Oda shouldn't go back with that.
But as you agree with me... Doubts are legitim after reading and seeing other stuff survived by fodder.
And the last panels are fishy as well with the flashbacls of Ace saying he won't die and Gol D Ace
Fine. ''Electrical discharges are usually not depicted in media as having the ability to punch holes in people because electricity is not a solid object, whereas a magma fist is.''
vista is proving to be one of the best commanders in whitebeards crew seriously he has actually really been epic marco was ok in this chapter.
Yeah, if Whitebeard and the crew survive this, I think Vista earned a promotion.

Kakashi's Raikiri^^

Get over it, his dead. He wont be coming back. Just like Oda mentioned in that interview translated by Aohige, what's the point of killing a character when you still want to use him alive in the manga.
I'm going to bump this since I wrote it in page 5 and almost no one saw it:
Remember Akainu's words about about Luffy's Haoshoku "that just now, it seemed to manifest outside his conciousness" or something along those lines?
I think that the perfect excuse for Luffy unleashing Haki in a justifiable manner is if his psyche is shattered to pieces, unshackling his subconscious power out of sheer rage. Call it SSJ or whatever, but this actually makes sense.
So basically, I'm trying to discern if that final expression is Luffy berserker raging as his subconscious takes over his broken psyche, allowing for his haki to manifest until they bring him down, or if it's just him finally and definately passing out.
Either way, Luffy's mind, if not his body as well, is down for the count. The only way we'll see Luffy do anything at this point, and I think it would be a great extra, is to see an insane Luffy unleash enourmous power, as a show to keep all of us who want to see his potential sated. I think it would be a great choice because he wouldn't be able to use it when he wakes up, so it's not at all like a permanent powerup, just a small display of his future power.
Thoughts?
This is the interview where all these guys in forums and /a/ get their "Oda said he doesn't kill his characters" from.
If you actually read the interview, it's not as rediculous and extreme as what these guys make it out to be.
Not only that, he makes it clear that he doesn't want to kill his characters off precisely because he doesn't think characters should come back to life.Brook is a different story, we premiered as a skeleton, not developed as a character beforehand.
Actually Aohige most of people are talking about the other interview where he also says there wont be "flying characters" and that he doesnt like to kill his characters because killing them is easy, taking away their dreams is not
Kakashi's Raikiri^^
Is the worst defense you could have come up with as it is actually a lighting fist.
What's it gonna take for people to say Ace is dead: Sinking to the bottom of the ocean? Body burned until it's nothing but dust? Full backstory? A "Pirate's Funeral"?

Headshot. 16 characters of headshot

Ok i can accept this.

A certificate from God saying ''No really, he's up here now.''
What TVtropes calls the "Really Dead Montage".
Ace better stay dead. If he somehow turns into another Pell I'll never be able to take OP seriously again.

I'm not sure what's going to happen exactly, but I do know that some time soon, like probably the next chapter, Luffy is going to completely lose his freakin mind with anger and sorrow. That's the one thing I think nearly every One Piece fan can agree upon.
Get over it, his dead. He wont be coming back. Just like Oda mentioned in that interview translated by Aohige, what's the point of killing a character when you still want to use him alive in the manga.
Well I have no problem with him dead so I haven't to get over it… but doubts are doubts,
And with that you posted.
Pell, Conis father, Skypia fodder and co. will be used in the manga again? Ahh got it cover-stories are important

Probably what's going to happen imo… But I'm still not happy with Ace's death... Not that I don't like how it's written or anything, it's great, touching and everything... I just want him to be alive, and live his life to the fullest and enjoy living with people who love him and all, and I also don't want Luffy to feel empty inside, don't want him to be sad like hell, and I don't want him to change either... Cause Ace's death sure is gonna affect him a lot in the future of the manga.
Well I have no problem with him dead so I haven't to get over it… but doubts are doubts,

Yes, they were used for the arc. Your point is?
Damn.
That last panel is crazy.
Ace won't live, not with the emphasis on his vivre card. Oda may have toyed with death before, but if he was planning on having Ace survive there's absolutely no reason to bring that out. He could of just had Ace lose consciousness in front of Luffy so that Luffy would believe he's dead if he was doing it just for Luffy's sake.
Yes, they were used for the arc. Your point is?
And after that? Of they would stay dead no one would care about it… They just appeared and say we are alive and were never used again
@Yonkou#3:
No you. Misses the days when we stood back to back in debate. R.I.P Ace/Spawn Combo.
I'm not Zik.
But BTW
Do smeone agree that skill wise Ace was the most dissapointing of the top commanders (Vista, Marco, Jozu)
No haki, just fruit and being owned
So happy. I hope all the Oda-is-a-bad-writer/Oda-sucks posters keep posting. If only you vowed to stop reading the manga.
I hope Blackbeard is the guy to give Luffy Ace's hat. "Oh yeah I forgot I had this. I figured you want it…"
ZEHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Unbelievable…
16 unbelievables...
And after that? Of they would stay dead no one would care about it… They just appeared and say we are alive and were never used again
And you think Ace will appear out of nowhere, scream at the top of his lungs saying… IM ALIVE, USE ME WHATEVER YOU WANT FROM NOW ON. Oda has already decided that he wont be needing Ace alive anymore, simple as that.
I'm not Zik.
Damn you're right. Whatever happened to him, i never see him around. So have you just never liked me or what's the deal?
@Yonkou#3:

No more epic than conis father but whatever once again…
I WANT HIM DEAD!
So sorry doubting Ace death after reading One Piece since the beginning
Wow i had hoped but didnt actually expect that Ace would die and now that he has i feel sad.This is for me much more sad than Merrys death.:(
I think in a way that Ace has to be dead so Luffy can finally get his tragic turning point. Compared to the rest of the crew, Luffy hasn't experienced death to this magnitude. Practically everyone else (well OK, Sanji maybe but he lost everyone on his ship when he and Zeff got stranded on the deserted island) has had their life-changing moment through death while Luffy has lived a mostly carefree life with merely Shanks losing his arm being his defining moment. With this, he finally should be able to realize what really is at stake with the rest of the Grand Line…and in a way could be Oda's "Krillin getting killed by Piccolo's minion" moment.
But BTW
Do smeone agree that skill wise Ace was the most dissapointing of the top commanders (Vista, Marco, Jozu)

Nothing disapointing about him. I'm a big fan of Marco….but he didn't do fk all in this war. He landed a hit on Kizaru, got shot up twice by him...kicked Ao Kiji away and that was it. Infact, it was his inablity to finish of Ao Kiji..with his clear type advantage over him, which then lead to Joz being taken out in the process.
Speaking of Joz, he's gonna be in for a hell of a shock when/If he wakes up only to find the war is over, WB is dead..Ace was rescued only to be killed.
Maybe Marco might be able to do something, he DOES have phoenix fruit. (Maybe a self sacrifice to bring ace back?)

Buddy! You changed your name on me man, hows it going?
!
Who is this "Subo" character in Aohige's trans?
I'm getting sick and tired of this whole "Oda said no one dies in his manga" and Ace returning from dead crap.
I agree that using the interview for an argument is a bad base for that thesis but I wouldn't necessarily deny the possibility that Ace could be brought back at all since the revival concept pretty much isn't an unthinkable thing in manga. That's at least where my worries are coming from.
Maybe Marco might be able to do something, he DOES have phoenix fruit. (Maybe a self sacrifice to bring ace back?)
Thatsch anyone? He is still dead…
I doubt that Marco is a walking Shen Long bringing the death back... Same for Iva... He can heal you if you are sick but not if you are already dead.
Moria can't use Ace body and implant some shadow but no bring back Ace
If than just a PX... but that would suck and Ace should stay dead
Yeah who is Sabu… One character more we have to see... Maybe connected to Dadan
One of my favourite scenes with Ace
v=lsQEd6tJVgs
I hope Oda doesn't ruin this by pulling a Pell…
Ace is Luffy's Kamina then?
Maybe Ace's Devil-Fruit will grow again somewhere now and someday Luffy has to fight the new fireman.
Nevertheless, a really shocking chapter. Now One Piece will never be the same as before…
One of my favourite scenes with Ace

Even more sad about Ace :sad:
I always thought only WB will fall… but never thought Ace would be killed
@Lordzeb121:
anyone feel like this the manga equivalent of
S4a-qrcuNIA
Im crying on the inside T_T
Ugh you choose to post the most weakest of bad attempts at an emotional scene, from one of the poorest FF in the series ever as a reference, to ATTEMPT compare to this scene?
BAD BAD BAD CHOICE.
