! Ah, cool. I've been waiting for him to get that other arm going for a loooong time. Holy crap! I just remembered I read chapter 3 on my 16th birthday! I've been reading this for seven years~!?

! Awesome, thanks Aohige!
! So, Mei has a death wish, does she? Although Father doesn't seem to have a way to manipulate Rentanjutsu, I'd be highly surprised if she was capable of taking him out all by herself. I wonder who will get the fun task of saving her, if that turns out to be the case? Probably Izumi, since it doesn't appear as though she's preoccupied at the moment.
! And I'm excited to see what Scar can do with his shiny new arm. xD Good stuff. -
New chapterrrrr: http://mangastream.com/read/fullmetal_alchemist/103-24/1
-
Woosh, what a chapter:
! So, apparently Pride had to use his own philosopher's stone to induce Roy's transmutation. Looks like it has weakened him considerably.
! The Ishbalans look like they're about to set up the Eastern Alchemy Transmutation circle, but they're running out of time. They'd better hurry if they want to get it completed before the Solar Eclipse.
! Father seems to be growing in size… I think I fully understand it all now. All those pipes in his chamber connected to his chair distribute raw souls throughout Amestris... That's what enables people to do Alchemy. When father tapped his foot way back when, he was forcing The souls away from the area; that's why no one in the area could use alchemy at the time. Furthermore, it explains why Human transmutation fails: when you use Alchemy for any reason, you're processing raw souls. Thus, the "creature" that Al and Ed created was a soul from those flowing beneath Amestris being un-condensed back into a living being. The souls of the dead are lost; meaning they can never be used as raw energy.
! Him growing in size is a result of him recalling all the souls from all over Amestris to initiate the final transmutation.
! Oh, and it's about damn time Scar gained Reconstruction. Bradley doesn't have a chance. -
! Great chapter. Still, I wish Arakawa would hurry the fuck up and get this done already! Ah well, the more FMA the better.
! Anyway, the fight against Father and Pride was pretty good, but I think it's safe to say that Mei doesn't stand a chance (I hope she's all right). The Scar/Wrath battle is frickin' epic though. So has Scar always had the reconstruction arm or is that an add-on that he got recently? -
Does anyone know of a YT link to Intro 3 without text/credits on it?

That seems to be the case, I still hope that Pride puts up a good fight and has a marvelous death, some goes for Bradley (which is 100% confirmed given the fact that his awesomeness skyrocket in the last 10 chapters). I wonder how alchemy will wotk after the defeat of the homunculi: Will everone adapt to Xingese methods?

Sldkfjdk new opening. I couldn't find it with a quick search on youtube but it's here if you scroll down a little and click on "streaming":http://randomc.animeblogger.net/2010/01/10/fullmetal-alchemist-brotherhood-39/
The first half didn't really wow me but the action bits after that were great. _
! Especially Greed/Wrath and (since I'm a sucker for him) Kimblee. And Pride.
-
^^ Ooh, I like. Can't go wrong with
! Miles and Kimblee. __ Seeing Pride do his shadow-thing was great too.
! This new ending kinda sucks though, except for (again) Pride. And Scar. But it's better than the previous ending (watching Winry walk around does nothing for me). I also like this new ending song very much and will probably download it later. -
Wow, I just realized that I haven't even posted in this thread yet, when this is one of my favorite series.
New chapter is great, of course.
! Awesome that Scar can reconstruct now! Glad to see the action picking up against Father and Pride, as well!
Love the new Brotherhood opening, as well! Only complaint is the lack of Mustang, who is one of my favorite characters in the series. Other than that, I love it!
-
New opening was great indeed. All that action in the second half was amazing, and the animation throughout was absolutely superb. Wonder if this will be the last one, or if BONES is going to pull one more out for the extra twelve episodes. Be hard to top, either way. Ending was alright. I liked the bit with everyone flying towards Selim because it seemed so retro.
-
squee. loved the new opening to death. the ending was pretty good too. the anime is starting to catch up to where the english translated manga is. Won't be able to sit back and watch the raws soon.
waiting for this weeks episode to be subbed now. lots of talking.
and ed hugged winry. awwww ^^
-
! Seeing Mei fight really doesn't suprise me–not only did she and Scar use transmutation when no one else could, but Ed and Al didn't learn any alkahestry (or whatever it's called) on their journey. Mei and Scar are the only choices left. The question isn't whether she's going to fight Father, but how? And on another note, if foiling Father's plan cancels out all Armestris alchemy (if it indeed comes from underground souls), what implications would this have for the country, if they've lost their most powerful weapons.
The North wouldn't have to worry about anything, though. -

this guy's got the opening and ending up on youtube. plus FULL intro -
Great chapter; Scar provided the shock factor and then some… and no that's not a failed pun :P
-
Chapter was great, but it makes me wonder if we ever saw Scar's exposed left arm before… let me know, cause i'm too lazy to look it up and i'm not going to re-read until this is entirely over.
-
He always showed both when he shows the "deconstruction" one

I still don't get it… you'll watch subbed anime but not subbed manga? Eh...
Anyway, I like the new opening. Song's good and it has good action. My favorite part is Wrath and Ling/Greed fighting and Pride fighting Al. The next opening change will probably at the showcase of Hohenheim's past, I'd guess... but then again, that's coming up soon. I'd guess the next opening will be after the timeskip, then. Sounds about right.
-
I can't wait to see Scar battle with full force. Good chapter.
-
And late to say it, but IMO the new opening is the best of the 4. If nothing else it has the best song o.o
-
woot! Hohenheim!
and I guess I can say awesome! about scar? but I think it's kind of… I dunno thrown in there. it would have been better had the author gone and hinted about this technique earlier.
-
@Fire Fist:

?? I do read subbed manga. I buy the viz graphic novels for FMA. I just don't like reading fansubs online, due to not liking to read comic pages on a computer screen. (I asume your refering to my not reading OP online?) And I'm too cheep to buy OP manga, when I'm more of an anime person anyways.
-

I've been waiting for him to get that other arm going for a loooong time.
I'm not sure what you mean by "technique", so I am going to assume you are referring to Scar's left arm? If that's the case, it was introduced ('hinted at') back in… 2007, I think...?

They did, many a time. That's why I'm really pissed they took out Comanche's line to Scar before he killed him. That was a key plot point:
"You, who only know how to destroy, is no match against those of us who know how to create."

Woops, my bad. I guess it's been a long time since I've read all of FMA.

Umm, if I remember it right, the anime is currently adapting stuff from volume 18 of the manga. Hohenheim's past is in volume 19. The 6-month timeskip happens at the end of volume 20. If they changed the opening before either of those events, this opening would only stick around for like, 6 episodes.
In any case, that is one awesome opening.
-
First when I read newest chapter I was like yeah they fight fight oh god scar is gonna die bang alchemy spikes saves fight fight, but suddenly. Wait. Alchemy spikes? Scar? Oh god…
-
This has to be the first time ever that a FMA chapter really didn't do much for me. It wasn't bad but it just didn't have those "that's an awesome manga" moments I'm normally having with this series. =/

The final battle has just started, you've got to wait for it to pick up a bit.
By the looks of it, pride may not be able to use hsi powers because of the human transmutation that made roy do, or maybe because he's in Father's room and all his power is going to Father. But what ever the case may be it's obvious something isn't right.
-
I always seem to find the individual chapters of FMA lacking, after the WTF moment of the month the chapter doesn't do much for me in a standalone.
I love this series even after that because in a one sitting read is excelent.
-
I really enjoyed seeing Scar develop from psycho avenger to this. Pity Bradley has to go.
-
At first I was like oh shit this might be a Bradley kill zone then Scar does the alchemist spike thing and damn he is even more badass than before. I didn't think there could be much more badass but Arakawa keeps producing awesomeness every month. I loved the design of the pattern on Scar's "creation" arm.
-

It's the same pattern as the Destruction arm, only it's going the opposite direction and the words on it are different, and it's white instead of black. The words on his destruction arm read:
Terra n Ndaa (Adam), which basically translates to "Man to the Earth", or "returning to the Earth", as is what destruction does.
The words on the Reconstruction arm are hard to read, but it looks like:
Eignis E Colas
No idea what that means, unfortunately. Eignis could be the Greek form of Ignis, which means Fire. No idea what Colas means; can't find anything close.
-
Absolutely fascinating Ace, really that was interesting to read since language fascinates me. I am curious now what would happen if Scar clapped both his "creation" and "destruction" hands together. Although whatever happens Arakawa will make it epic.
-
I just don't like reading fansubs online, due to not liking to read comic pages on a computer screen.
i actually have heard alot of people say this. A few have said it just hurts their eyes.
-
that, and the comic pages don't fit on the screen nicely, and i find it a nuisance to have to scroll back and forth, and up and down, etc. I just wanna enjoy it. I'd rather sit down with a physical copy in my hand if I have to read a comic.
or just enjoy the anime when it comes out. :)
I like FMA a lot though, so I've been collecting the VIZ comics as they come out. The anime is quickly catching up though.
new episode today! watched the raw already.
-
i just saw the new opening
AWESOME!
the song is just…wow...sends chills down my spine
and the endoing is just as great...AWESOME!
-
Oooh Daisuke Namikawa (Eustass Kidddddddd) did young Hoho's voice. :)
And then next week looks like we get to see one of my favorite scenes:
!
o -
new opening was awesome!!!
the ending was also great if only they reduced the frames of winry walking..
and that blank roy stare scene is kinda disturbing… it was just a frozen scene o_Oeither ways BONES did it again! they made me love their animations once again! XD
-
I loved that part with winry. it looked so bold and so well animated. That would make a great winter cosplay. Would I buy a nice white winter coat just for cosplay though. :3 Maybe if I found one real cheap.
-
WOW, just saw the new episode (actually only about 14:20 of it) and man did they did it very good. The music made it really dramatic (not to mention its timing). It was awesome
-
I loved the second OVA, much more than the first one. Winry is always fun to watch :P
-
I heard the OVAs were only on blue-ray correct. I found the first one sub but now trying to find the second one. it seems to be getting good comments.

yeah, only on blue-ray, too bad there are no blue-ray quality raws (or any respectively decent raws) for the second OVA, which is subbed by the way…
http://www.hiyono.net/fansubs/2010/01/11/fullmetal-alchemist-brotherhood-ova-02/
The OVA complimets episode 39 well (or rather the other way around since the OVA came out first).
-
Oh. Thank you Vyse&homunculus. I'll watch it right now.
-
you can actually watch it? it looks like they just have 4 screen shots and have not posted a video yet?
-

There's a torrent link for it on that page you know.
anyway, I'm a bit more interested in those extra chapter tie-ins to the new video game. For the past two volumes there has been an extra, one of them is scanned the last time I checked, but I really can't find much intel on the game they relate to.
-
I watched the new episode. I'm sad that we didn't get this particular face:
!
But I still enjoyed it. Especially with Kimmy looking pretty:!
And ass:
!
sdlsjdkf XD -
geawd. marry him already. lol
I just picked up the new VIZ manga. wow! stuff's really starting to happen. I can just imagine all the stuff that's happening for you people keeping up with the Japanese releases!
-
geawd. marry him already. lol
WHAT I THOUGHT EVERYONE KEPT A SHARP EYE OUT FOR KIMMY ASS SHOTS.
Lmao. Kimblee's one of those characters I love to love from a long way off. Like one would admire a lunatic rabid tiger. :D
