…do you think you could do a better anime based on Oda's masterpiece?
And how would you do it?
I watched anime after reading manga and felt disappointed someway. Some is pro and some is con, childish, and the pace is terrible,v.v...
I would like to increase the pace.
For the art, if it's possible, maybe in the future, I want One Piece to be done by 3d technique, like Final Fantasy, Wall-e,v.v...More energic, less dumb. I better ask Oda how the character's colours will be.
For the filler, uhm...need to be more creative, less stereotypical. I don't like how people keep saying about pirate being good or bad (childish). And the shitty phyloshophy will be cut.
If you were One Piecanime director…

We've all been there; the phenomenon nobody can escape. You're watching One Piece, but you're not enjoying it. Why? Usually, it's because of filler.
Amine fans the world over have all experienced the roadblock and headache known as filler. Once in a while, filler can be some good fun. But more often than not, these inbetween, non-canonical interludes are packed to the groan-inducing limit with whining children, uninteresting conflicts, and unexplained plot oddities.
A question: if YOU could write your own filler arc, what would you include in your own piece of the One Piece anime pie?
-
a badass character with a badass devil fruit.. and FUCK YES Don Acchino is LAME. the heat paramecia fruit became useless on him..
uhm, okay, its probably ok to have a villain that doesnt have a df, but the story/plot should be interesting at least..
edit: the villain should have been acquainted with canon characters in a great way (the giant that Roger defeated doesnt count as good plot, moreso making a young smoker appear at roger's execution!)

I'd like to see an island chain with the gravitational properties of Super Mario Galaxy.
-
A proper One Piece filler needs:
- The right place in the story. / Not interupting good arcs
- A special island thats fits into the Grand Line
- Badass marines or bountyhunters
- Crew interaction
- One Piece comedy
It does not need:
- Whiny Filler kids
- Big fights
- Plot holes
- Flashbacks from other filler arcs
Of course sticking with all of these points is still no gurantee for a good filler but it sure helps..

Totally agree on that.
Nothing more to add! -
Totally agree on that.
Nothing more to add!I agree, m00n's list pretty much seals what a filler arc generally needs.
But what specifically would you like to see from a filler arc?
-
No fictional animals. Dragons, beetles, etc.
-
Robin, Nami both go too an all-girl island where they must wear
tribal clothing because it's really really hot, and they make out & stuff.Or Not.
Perhaps Luffy wakes up, the crew are being impersonated. And Foxy's behind it,
he's hidden each crew member on a differnent guarded part of Sunny, and Luffy
must, both fight answer riddles to find them. Eventually Luffy gets them all, but
Foxy tries to play dirty, so Zoro slices off his quiff & he jumps overboard & swims away. -

... Until he tastes the difference in fake-sanji's cooking.

I would like to see a filler arc that has the return of some old canon villains in it. Preferable someone from East Blue, like Kuro or Arlong. No new shitty villain with shitty devil fruit power.
-
Adventure filler without annoying kid characters or damn shitty plots with shitty fruits what we been seen… ugh, ruins whole thing damn it. Just sailing and adventuring random island of fantastic grand line.
Or good bounty huntering arc.
-
…yes, less filler fillers. Or generic fillers with some random child with dream and supervillian with df or somekind of power what can rule the sea buhahaa! No thank you. Animes art should be always that best one, that that... well there is two great artist styles in anime. Cut the crap, do good episodes from chapters, do good episodes from little things of chapters. Thats how it done right.
-
Well, I would like to see a filler with a little kid that's actually useful and not annoying, with an interesting plot and characters. I think maybe a timetravel one would be interesting if executed properly. Or one of a past villain (Wapol? Krieg?) hiring a bounty hunter to catch Luffy and bring him back barely alive so they can finish off Luffy themselves. And of course the crew coming to get Luffy or something like that. It could give the crew some more screen time and could turn out to be really interesting~
-
i would leave it all in oda`s hands..
it always feel differnet when some1 else would write about it.
thats why we have so many predictions but only really few bullseyes on how the story rly did go on. -
Filler should be able to move at the pace of the show before filler was required. There should not be filler moments such as long pauses or sympathy flashbacks every couple of seconds. It should also provide muscle for the story instead of fat. Expand on the vastness of the sea, provide chances for lesser seen characters to get some action, provide shorter stories to counter the longer sagas and arcs, bring in more comedy if the story's more serious or vice versa and bring more diverse culture to the One Piece world.

Do something different. I'd want everyone to hate it for being different - not for being garbage.
Have them enter a ‘build a fort out of mattresses’ contest and then face the opposing teams in Capture the Pillow.
But the process lasts days; it’s mostly the Straw Hats interacting - maybe in smaller groups.
Thus reads my best idea ever. -
I would love love love a Strawhat Gang/Mafia filler instead of the Boss Luffy ones. Where they're all wearing sunglasses and suits and they're talking funny like in that one Mugiwara Theatre thing. And they're fighting drug dealers in the streets. And standing on skyscrapers watching the sun set.
-
I wouldn't mind if they'd branch off to other elseworlds other than the Boss Luffy ones. I recently watched the short where they were all stereotypical mafia members and was laughing heartily at it. I wouldn't mind seeing more of stuff like that.

@The:
Curious as to why not?
Big fights feel fake when they have no impact on the story. They offer nothing but a re-animation of moves already seen. Hence I think they don't belong into fillers.
The fillers with the big fights haven't exactly been the best, if you ask me. -
Robin, Nami both go too an all-girl island where they must wear
tribal clothing because it's really really hot, and they make out & stuff. Please come true.
The only filler arc I truly enjoyed was the G8 filler and what that had was no devil fruits and no whiny kids. So, yea.
-
It's kinda sad really, anime filler is such wasted potential. Writers have this great opportunity to flesh out all the minor things in Oda's story that he couldn't possibly do on his own, but instead all we get are snooze worthy storylines and an abundance of easily forgotten filler characters.
I think what gripes most people about filler is how the focus seems to always shift away from the Straw Hats themselves. Part of the fun of One Piece comes from seeing them all goofing off together and acting like one big crazy happy family. Stuff like Chopper telling Robin the origin of his rumble ball or Brooke trying to fit in with the rest of the crew is my idea of filler done right, (and G8 naturally.) Not 10 slow episodes of the team getting their asses handed to them by some no name villain with a mashed potato devil fruit power along with some useless filler kid tagging along for the sake of being a complete and utter burden to everyone.
-
Animated cover stories. That is all.
-
I agree with the above post. So much potential for good filler episodes there. Toei also took a right turn with the post-Enies Lobby filler, just executed it poorly.
-
Give Inoue more Money so we have more teh Shiny Bouncing Massive Boobs.
Then enjoy the fan-girls anger & the fanservice itself … Well, maybe not. -
The Boss Luffy fillers are fun (for the most part) so seeing more of those could be good.
BUT, for the sake of directing something original… I'll have to get back to this thread later when I can think of something. ^_^U
-
More heroic moments for Usopp.
-
G8
That's really all anybody really needs to say about filler.
-
I would make a filler involving Daz Bones' antics as a super hero.
-
A ninja island, so we can have pirates Vs ninjas, or what smoker has been up too, or just all the cover stories espeascially barouque works.
-
I'd make One Piece have better frickin' openings, reminiscent of one and two in style.
