I like watching Eclipse's subs but those aren't up right yet: http://eclipse.speedsubs.org/

that was a nice clip show…
-
Yeah, for a clip episode, the ending was really nice.
The new opening is pretty damn awesome as well.
-
i'm all cauhgt up to the anime and I must say, like everyone else, that i do not really like how they took out so much stuff, ESPECIALLY ran fan's and ling's first encounter with envy and gluttony….but whatever, i did love the music they played for ling fighting the fuhrer, EPICNESS.
-
i must be forgetting something cause it seems to me that they kept in just about everything…i mean as far as manga->anime adaptations this is one of the most faithful i've seen...
-
Y'know, at the end of that episode, I expected everyone to start applauding and go ''Congratulations.'' The set up was pretty much identical.
Hm, not much else to say, obviously, though the people randomly exploding into blood and that girl turning out to be Trisha sort of took me off guard.
-
ya the trisha part was awesome. and if they all started going congratulations, i think i woulda toppled over in my chair with my feet in the air. your right though. I was thinking the same thing.
i kept thinking though, if that was trisha that was growing up, did no one questions why hoemheim (sp) didn't age? It was just a dream though, so I won't dwell too much on it.
-
Hoenheim not aging is kind of a bit of a spoiler.
-
oh ya….well it's kinda obvious in the episode, even if we don't know why yet. besides, i just got spoiled with manga discussion a page or so back.
-
If they have time for a filler episode, they should actually give us an important flashback like the events that happened with Mei and Yoki prior to their appearance that brotherhood kinda… skipped :P
-
I'm still banking on them making a joke on how Yoki's episode wasn't shown because no one cares about him. Since he's the butt monkey of the show, after all.
I got Vol. 20 today, and cracked up when Viz actually used OM NOM NOM as a sound effect at one point.
-
eee! gotta buy that this weekend.
-
I'm behind on my volumes; the last one I got was 8. I spent a bit of money on the OP volumes not to long ago (yes, all 21 of them), so I'll have to wait till the funds pick up again.
-
I actually liked this episode. The ending was done very nicely.
-
So, episode 28's out, and we've got….
Greed's voice....coming out of Ling's mouth. Really not what I was expecting, and I personally think it's a bit of a waste, even though I did like the original Greed's voice, since I really don't need to say that Miyano can do evil perfectly well. Not to mention how that kind of ruins a few scenes where Ed asks him who's in control, since the voice gives it away. Definitely will take some getting used to.
Apparently the show's also decided to take some cues from Gundam 00 (pretty funny, considering they have like half the voice cast on board as is) and have started putting scenes after the end credits.

This just made reading Viz's volumes 19 and 20 a priority for me. If I could, I'd have Viz reprint all the volumes using omnomnom for any sfx for Gluttony eating. It'd make me my username. "Can I eat him?" "Sure" "omnomnom" XD
-
I kinda like how they used greeds voice. I don't know what happens later on with him, as I only read the viz manga, but what if later on, ling has some internal conflict with greed to get his body back. It would make more sense to the viewer, if we can hear the seperate voices arguing/fighting for control.
(please don't spoil me if my theory is way off) -
Ohohoho~ I'm so happy that Greed's back. _

have a question
i just watched the 28 episodes finally. kind of taking time to forget the old anime's revelations on things.
but as for this manga, haven't read at all bare mind so no spoilers. just wondering I see it is 100 chapters. How long is this manga going to be. Does it seem like last arc, close to end, or could it go on for another 100+ and have no idea?
basically waht are you guessing for how long this sereis has left. 5 chapers, 20, 100, no distinct end in sight.
mainly wondering cause if super close then i might just wait on reading manga till finished so i cna have in one go and not be stuck like 5 chapters to end and have to wait each week. but if super long hten probably catch up and add another to my list of weekly manga. though dont' think this is weekly is it?
-
The manga is in the final arc and incredibly close to the final showdown. I'm going to estimate that we have around five or so chapters left to go.

well that's good to hear, also kind of sad cause where i am in anime it seems like it could go on for a long time. Them studying about the other alchemy and getting stronger and so on.
but now wondering whether gonna read manga or just wait weekly for anime. I mean the anime is like halfway caught up i think, and if manga finishes then no worry about filler.
Though i did hear that the manga has quite a bit more info in it, that anime has skipped over due to going so fast. Not counting the stuff skipped entirely due to first anime did it and din't want to spend so much time reanimating same stuff.
though at least this manga looks good in art, i almost don't even want to read hunter hunter anymore and just hope for an anime ova again for new arc. just pathetic in art.
-
i thought the anime was keeping pretty close to the manga, only taking out minor trivial things. I think the only big complainer is thousand lion chan, but he's VERY particular about everything matching up word for word, action for action.
-
The only big things that were taken out were Yoki's introduction chapter (though it was referenced later on), the trainjackers, and Ling and Ran Fan's fight with Envy and Gluttony.

Seems the only thing I'll wish they kept when I watch it is the Ling/Ran Fan vs Envy/Gluttony so far. More Ling/Ran Fan and Gluttony is always good (dunno why I don't care for Envy, but Gluttony is semi-amusing… still say the use of om nom nom should have happened sooner in the Viz manga just to make Gluttony more lolworthy "can I eat him?" "sure" "omnomnom"). I'm actually drawing a blank on the trainjackers... don't remember it. Yoki's intro can be ignored for all I care. He's like the reject char of the manga.
-
Well, the OM NOM NOM meme didn't come about until rather recently.
The trainjackers were in chapter 4. They took over a train because a general from the military was on board, and the only real purpose of the story was to introduce Roy's group, as the chapter ended with him toasting the leader and introducing himself.
-
Ah, well it'd be easier to introduce Roy and his group without dragging things out as I'm assuming the anime did. And I know about the om nom nom thing, but let a man dream lol.
-
i liked the train jacking thing. made ed and al look cool. :3
-
Yeah, it's a bit of a shame that they didn't animate it this time around. Lots of funny stuff there, like the cannon, that loudspeaker Ed made, and those two stokers giving Ed a thumbs up with completely deadpan expressions after beating the snot out of one of the hijackers.
Also, I haven't listened to it yet, but the OST cover makes me laugh at how unapologetic it is. Zip those pants up, boy!
-
huh, OST cover, what?
hey, without spoilering me, answer me this; does father make another glutony, and does he look different?

No, same Gluttony, same appearance. It's unknown if he can do the fake gate thing anymore, though.
Really, though, most of the scans I've read are very close to Viz's translation. Wouldn't be much different reading them.

Ed's just a sexy boy
sexy boy~He's not your boy toy
boy toy~ -
Yes, the Official Sound Track, picture, picture. Must be breezy.
first picture ooooh prettey
second picture :\ now see, if that were a girl, it would be all applauses…though, boy or girl, that's kinda disturbing to me. ya. zip up your pants. i find that to be an ugly picture anyways.
goes back to look at the first picture -
Ed's just a sexy boy

That was kind of the entire point.
I mean, I was referencing this sin against mankind:

New episode was pretty good BUT I'M MORE EXCITED ABOUT NEXT WEEK~
!
WHY KIMBLEE~~
!
WHY DO YOU MAKE EVERYTHING LOOK SO GOOD??
! Oh man. And if I remember correctly the crazy bastard gets sprung from prison soon after the Ishbal flashbacks. WHICH IS AWESOME. (train fight! him and ed's fight! team-up with pride against Al!) Lmao Kimblee's honestly the only reason I was excited about the second anime. After watching him get a weird run-around in the first series. But yeah Kimblee's great and totally angst-free. Which is refreshing. -
freakin FINALLY got a copy of volume 20 for myself. after 3 weeks of waiting around. can't wait to see what all the hype is about. and man, the anime is catching up real fast. soon, I will have to wait for subs cause I won't know what's going on from reading the manga. :P
-
as much as i don't want full metal to end, i want it also to end quickly so that the anime don't go screwing around again with its own story
-
as much as i don't want full metal to end, i want it also to end quickly so that the anime don't go screwing around again with its own story
or they could just let it end at a critical moment than release bits and bits each season as differn't OVA's.

did anyone see the end of today's episode? WTH!
! did scar kill marco?!! that's not supposed to happen! what's going on?
-
! I haven't kept up with Brotherhood, but might that be when he deforms Marco's face?
-
Drat, I was hoping that they'd add a little bit to the encounter between Roy and his teacher, because that part always felt rather abrupt to me. ''Oh, so you're joining the military, are you? BLARGH.'' dies
The eyecatches made me chuckle though. Yeah, it's (sort of) plot relevant, but it's still unabashed fanservice!
-

He didn't kill him. He broke down the outer layer of his face to disfigure him.
-
Holy crap Kimblee you have blue eyes. Man I'd gotten used to the yellow from the first series lmao. XD
-
@Fire Fist:
He didn't kill him. He broke down the outer layer of his face to disfigure him.
but at the end of today's episode it looks like his dead body is resting against the wall with "vengance" written in his blood. unless that's not marco and just a decoy? I should go grab my manga.

! Yeah, it's just a decoy. It's just a chimera that Scar blew up to make it look like he had killed Marco.
-
ahhh! thank you. now I don't have to go dig out my manga. you forget the minor details after a while.
