Wait, this is the raw thread? I just thought this was episode discussion in general.
I guess that's what I get for just clicking on the thread title from the main forum page… but is it all right to talk about the episode in here even if it was the FUNimation sub we watched?

Congrats you just pissed off e1n:http://www.apforums.net/showpost.php?p=1292391&postcount=14

really cool episode, maybe sanji will learn the wink power…
-
Liked it. Hancock gigling.. a bit much but still funny. Chopper, didn't pay much attention there, but the Sanji part was hilarious even though I already knew the punchline ofcourse.

This thread is to discuss the episode without going into subtitles. If you saw a sub its ok, too, just don't bring up any feedback on the subs here, just talk about the actual episode.

Ha, ''Elizabeth'' is the same one who's chasing Sanji in the coverstory. I was expecting some scare chords there when the reveal was set up. Pretty damn funny. It's your own fault! Your own damn fault!

episode was great.
utsf will be releasing late, no translators atm :l -
Nice episode

Whats going to happen if this Elizabeth looks like the other Elizabeth?
-
Poor, poor Sanji. Chopper's having hallucinations too! gahahahaha!

The legs are already similar.
-
I think its hilarious that Kuma took one look at Sanji and thought, "Tranny, I guess I will help him out and send him to a place where he can be himself". Luffy gets to hook up with the most beautiful women in the world, Zoro gets probably the good kind of crazy perona, Nami gets felt up by her professor, and Sanji gets to truely be himself, hilarious.
-
To elaborate: Brooks get plenty of panties, Chopper is doing it with the birds, Robin is lain in chains and Franky becomes a pimp. Kumas secret plan? We got it all fugured out!
-
Chopper's part was boring. Sanji's was pure gold!
Next week: Heracles \o/\o/\o/ and, apparently, Robin meets Anne Frank.
-
@.access:
Robin meets Anne Frank.
LOL
Chopper part was ok, but the Sanji Part, hillarious stuff… this island is scary, seriously, pink all over and Lady GaGa's everywhere... It's a Nightmare
-

Lol I think you're right. I guess Kuma sent all them to islands where they could fulfill they secret inner desires or something. XD.
-
Hancock and Luffy- It was funny and well done though I saw it in the manga so it's not as funny as the other parts.
Chopper- Considering there isn't as much as they can put on Chopper's island, I think they did a good job. It also explained why Chopper was able to roll after being so tired.
Sanji- XD LoL Good Lord. I think knowing what was coming made it even more hilarious honestly. I just looked at the screen constantly thinking 'Don't do it! Don't say it!' Then, of course, once he realized the truth, he's buried his own grave. -
Are the whereabouts of the crews a fillers episodes or is it from the manga?
Btw, sanji running away looks like the last scene from death note(kira running).
-
From the manga with added stuff.
Presumably with Oda's input.
-
the episode was different, then the manga story
you no the 2 chapter frontpage story, the ending was not the same and you can´t see the power up(which we still don´t know.
-
These aren't from the frontpage stories.
They're from the pre-impel down "where are they now" chapter.
-
From the manga with added stuff.
Presumably with Oda's input.
This episode didn't really add anything, it just stretched things out a bit to fill the episode. Last episode actually added to the story, with new powerups and whatnot.
-
It added the reason they're all chasing Sanji.
Because he put his foot in his mouth big time.
-
I'd say that goes under "stretching out". The absolute details of why they're chasing him, beyond what's said in the chapter, really don't add anything to the story. It's just additional humor added to the scene.
-
Just because it's humour doesn't mean it's not adding to the story.
Before I would have just thought that they were mercilessly trying to convert him into an okama, no matter what he wanted.
Now we know that Sanji talked himself right into it. Which for me at least makes it even better then the manga version.
-
Exactly. The fact that Sanji brought this situation on himself is a pretty big development for me. It totally changes how I view his entire story now. Sure, it's way funnier, but it also totally redefines my concept of how the kamabakkites act.
-
Chopper's part gave me goosebumps somehow…
-
Oh Toei, you sneaky bastards, slipping in Vol. 52's cover like that.
I noticed this too. Hoping I wasn't the only one :D

So… you think Oda ok'd an interpretation of his story which changes the okamas from "wild hedonistic rapists" to "just chasing Sanji for fun, because he seemed to be asking for it, despite the fact that he clearly doesn't want it." I guess it's possible that Oda had something like that in mind all along, especially considering how well he treats okamas in OP otherwise.
-
I was watching this episode, and during the daydream sequence only one thing came to mind (thanks to the eyebrows):
"The other day I shot a Sea King in my pajamas. How the Sea King got into my pajamas, I'll never know."
-
Hah ha. Good ol' Groucho Marx.

My slightly different take on it:

(my thanks go to Dark Kaomi, for making it easy for me to find this quote again) ;)

Yes, exactly! As Urouge said, this completely changes the dynamic – it's no longer the okamas who are to be blamed for the situation, it's Sanji. And that means that he's -- hopefully -- going to learn an important lesson here about not letting his emotions/passions override his caution and common sense (as well as not automatically jumping on anyone just because they're wearing a skirt!). That's a much bigger "upgrade" for Sanji than what we were originally guessing he'd get : increased leg strength from all that running...

I sure hope so. That had been bugging me about Sanji's arc - making the trannies look like a bunch of irrational, relentless 'rapists' for the sake of an easy, overplayed joke. I actually love how the filler was done for that here. It really shows how we got from point A to point B, and the series of misunderstandings was pretty believable in context.
Chopper's story unfortunately left much to be desired. Such gratuitous use of still-picture montages just to kill time.
-
How is it filler if thats what happened??? Sanji story is the best through lol.

The scenes are being stretched out. In the manga, we get one or two pages of where the Straw Hats are. Now we get a bunch of filler in between parts.

There was something that didn't sit right with me when I read it in the manga. That something was the lines at the end of chapter 523 when the Kamabakkites were saying things like "You're like us, right?". It just seemed to be somehow out of place but I could never figure out why until I watched this episode. Assuming the story unfolded the way the anime tells it just makes those two manga pages feel more natural. I've thought about it over the last several days and I'm more of the opinion that Oda suggested this interpretation.

All it needs is Binks Sake and it's the obligatory weekly flashback we've so come to love!

When Chopper remembered the crew partying, most of the Strawhats' drawings were taken straight from that cover.
