ooooo as long as this is as good as the other two I played (8 and 4) then I can't wait =3
-
Okay, I just want to know, is the multiplayer still gonna be there?
-
Yes, or at least for the Japanese version.
-
Dragon Quest is in my top three RPG series of all time. I'm a DQ geek. And I'm not talking about Reese's Blizzards, either. Japan gets it in March, but I dunno when the USA is getting it. I DO know that I'll be getting it as soon as it comes out over here.
EDIT: in before the haters bitch and moan about it being portable
-
Hasn't Greg already stated his opinions on this being portable?:ninja:
-
With respect to it being portable, I think that`s a fantastic idea.
-
Official site is up.
www.dqix.jpiIt looks damn nice. I'm very curious about that monk character, always liked monks.
-
Japan release in March 2009… I guess that means it'll be out in America some time in 2010.
-
And with some good luck it will be out here in Europe somewhere around 2011.
-
This game is the reason I'm buying a DS!
I an not effing wait! -
This game is probably solely for the DSi because of the system requirements. Has anything been confirmed about that?

Erm, no. It'll work on any model.
-
But the graphics are damn sweet, nothing that've been on the ds before from what I've seen.

DSi has the same capabilities as the original and lite DS. The only difference is that the DSi's larger screen might make it look better (or worse) and sound better. Beside, DQIX was in development long before the DSi was announced. It does look good though ;)
-
Level 5 can make any video game graphics look beautiful :D
-
Dark Cloud says no.
-
It was one of their first games, they improved since then :V
-
@Sandai:
Dark Cloud says no.
A: that was made seven years ago, right at the beginning of the PS2's lifetime.
B: Dragon Quest VIII, Dark Cloud 2, and Rogue Galaxy are freakin' gorgeous.
C: Using your moon-logic, Michael Jordan wasn't a very good basketball player, because he didn't make his high school team his freshman year.
-
I still havnt found a copy of dark cloud 2 and Rogue galaxy, it's getting really annoying since those are the last ps2 gems I want.
And I hope they will bring Inazuma Eleven over here. I love soccer and I love rpg, so its a must for me.
-
A: that was made seven years ago, right at the beginning of the PS2's lifetime.
So even with that in consideration I can't call out the game for it's graphics?

The six championship rings say otherwise.

The six championship rings say otherwise.
A: I still think that Dark Cloud has good graphics, so I still take issue with your call-out.
B: You were insinuating that Level-5 doesn't make good-looking games because of a game made seven years ago. I countered by insinuating that Jordan wasn't a good player because of a single failure seven years before the start of his legendary pro career. Please, I'm well aware of his accomplishments, kiddo.
-
A: I still think that Dark Cloud has good graphics, so I still take issue with your call-out.
Yes opinion something that's more likely to result in bloodshed then assassinating a duke in a European country even when said opinion actually has some ground.
B: You were insinuating that Level-5 doesn't make good-looking games because of a game made seven years ago. .
Um wrong all I said was that Dark Cloud didn't have good graphics what other Level 5 game in that post did I mention?

Release date coming straight from the DQ event today:
March 28th, 2009
Japanese Version, of course.
-
I just realized how it long it's probably gonna take to release the English version of this. I mean, DQV and DQVI haven't even been localized yet, and those are the ones that are confirmed to come to the US. So the earliest would seem to be Fall 2009, but wasn't DQ8 released in the US a year after it was in Japan? So waiting till 2010 for a DS game is a loooooong time especially since the DS was released in 2004 so how outdated is it gonna look then? By 2010 we can expect announcements for the next-gen!
Maaaaan I really wish I could read Japanese! This game looks way too good with its customization features and omg are they actually surrounding that monster in the trailer? Paying attention to details like that show how much work they put into this, so it's probably gonna be the best DS RPG eveeeeeer and we're gonna get it like a year after the system is outdated. That sucks.
-
DQ V is set to be released in February.
-
-
So, I was going to type my comic-con crap up when I saw this.

I'm pissed off now, so I'm going to bed and I'll do it later.
-
At least it wasn't pushed to 10 god forbidding.
-
Hey, has anyone played this yet? Its reception has been incredibly mixed - Famitsu gave it a perfect score, the 2ch crowd hates it (largely because of the ganguro fairy in it?), but the one person I know that bought it likes it, but wished it wasn't so expensive. So what's the deal?
-
Well, it's sold over 2.3 million copies already in Japan, and like you said it's getting good reviews in the media.
I'm pumped for DQ IX, I won't be playing it until the English version hits America though.
And the fairy seems fine to me, I'm not offended that she has a tan.
I'm also excited for the Dragon Quest VI remake on DS.
-
The mass Amazon spamming from Japan is the WRONG reason to blam a game. There's really nothing wrong with DQIX aside from the misleading impression that there was going to be online play.
The right reason to blam a game on Amazon would be what EA tried pulling with Spore.
-
I haven't been able to buy this yet because I have no money due to me paying for school last week.
That said, they just announced that there will be new DLC missions each week for a year starting tomorrow.
-
I didn't know DS games could get DLC.
-
I'm going to guess that it's just unlocking content already programmed into the game. As that's what's done with Pokemon.

Yeah, probably, however DSi has flash memory and some DS games have available space for DLC on the cart.
-
^An example of such games is Prof. Layton.

Talking about that i read on wiki that there were contraversy going on about that fairy can someone shed a little light on this story?
-

Oh right, forgot about that as well. Another game that comes to mind is Phantasy Star Zero, which will be getting DLC in the form of a recreation of a Phantasy Star Online level based on votes from the Japanese players.
