Wasn't it stated before by B.A Momonga and Jinbei that the execution is set for 3 o'clock P.M ? But according to this chapter, the execution will occur at 4 o'clock PM (see the clock on page 5 and do the math). Weird… :wassat:
Chapter 545: "To The Outside World Where The Sun Shines"
-
-
@$abZ:
I never called him useless, did I? I'm just saying that I thought he'd be able to stand up to Magellan, without having to run like he is doing now.
@$abZ:
Good point, but that makes him quite useless against strong powers (most of which have DF abilities).
Dude, you pretty much did.
As for Magellan, yeah I guess. The guy is like Lucci. He's an antagonist with immense power who is for some reason not a part of that group. It's weird, but not impossible.
-
Meh it's not really a plot hole. Magellan took the elevator from level 1-4 and entered on the other side of the floor on Level 4. While Luffy and co where having the fight with Hannybal and then talking with BB. Bare in mind Level 4 is huge compared to the lower floors. While all that time was being wasted Magellan head toward Luffy. Then when Magellan reaches them, they all start hauling ass toward level 1 while Iva and Scissor chan stall for time while Magellan is using Venom Road to catch up after he defeats whoever is in his way.
Magellan's not a dumb guy. It seems to me the moment that Hannyabal went down, the most reliable way to stop them would be to take the elevator to level 1, putting yourself between the enemy and their objective. It's a small gripe, really. And who knows, Oda may even address it later.
Wasn't it stated before by B.A Momonga and Jinbei that the execution is set for 3 o'clock P.M ? But according to this chapter, the execution will occur at 4 o'clock PM (see the clock on page 6). Weird… :wassat:
That's a pretty good point, you're right. Except it's on page 5.
-
Urogue: He's not. He initially went to level 2 to stop the prisoner riot there and blocked off level 2 with the poison wall. The he went to level 4 to stop Luffy and co while Hannyball along with the 1,000 gaol bullet bazooka guys blocked the entrance to level 3. So essentially they were doing a pincher kinda tactic. His plan would've worked if it wasn't for Blackbeard destroying the poison wall and defeating the bazooka guards. Then the back up plan was for Sady to take all demon guards to block level 1 and do whatever the guards are planning to do with the ships.
Hell even with all the cockblocking he was still able to reach Luffy and co in this very chapter.
-
Rofl, Luffy will not beat blackbeard @ marinford, lol.
-
I think Luffy will take the blame for everything that happens at Impel Down. I think they'll cover up what BB does, since he's a Shichibukai and it would embarrassing to the WG. Luffy will also have some impact on what happens at Marineford, and will gain additional fame from that. Add the punch to Charlos, his bounty will skyrocket. He wont be feared in the New World, but he wont be laughed at either.
We can expect what happens at Marineford to be significant. The rest of the crew needs to grow in fame along with Luffy and that will be their chance to shine.
-
So many loose ends to wrap up here. Shiryuu, Blackbeard, Buggy with his treasure bracelet, Hancock, something deep in the bowels of ID, fallen allies, Hannyabal… I don't see how Oda can tie it all up without wrecking the whole place.
@Massacre:
Shut your faggot mouth, faggot.
Stop posting and seek help. You tremendous loser.
-
Buggy will also take some of the blame and will get a bounty around 300.000.000
-

I understand all that, and you're only reinforcing my point. Magellan is tactically smart. All that stuff you described was before Hannyabal went down. I'm talking about after Hannyabal went down. Once everything had gone to hell. Sending the demon guards obviously wont stop them, they were already defeated once. The best strategy at that moment is to get between your enemy and his objective.
-

Maybe not that high, but it's definitely getting a huge boost if he can make it out. Plus with the additional crew members he's getting if they make it out, well, he might not be that much of a pushover anymore

Good chapter, not great like the last two, but still good. Can someone explain to me Sadichans body position on page 4? Top right panel.
http://www.onemanga.com/One_Piece/545/04/
Her hand makes her look almost upside down, but then her body looks backwards or something. I just can't tell how Oda positioned her.
-
I don't forget
Luffy could get caught and taken to MHQ to be executedmy theory

We're looking at her from behind. It looks like Oda messed up on her hand a bit, since while you can put your hand in that position, it's extremely unconfortable.
-
Lets say Luffy did manage to help rescue Ace, and beat up some amazing marines on the way. Even if that does happen, what ever ol Blacky and pals have planeed will over shadow everything Luffy has done so far in the eyes of the OP world, not us.
So we know Luffy will somehow make it out of this, though who knows if Ace will be saved or not, most likely yes. But if what Black Beard said was true(and it is) the entire government will be on Black Beards butt probably taking some heat off of Luffy.
As for not being able to have fun on the islands that he visits, its pretty much been that way from the get go. He has been a pirate from nearly the start, and been super famous for a long time. The locals will fear them when they arrive, but once they see they are good people it will be just like any other island. What I see happening is that more and more pirates become afraid of the straw hat crew as well as bounty hunters, but the marines will be really be hounding them after all this.
-
My theory
Luffy will watch his friends fading one after the other and then he will enable his haoushoku haki and will kick Magellan's ass with a huge giant gatling… -
Urogue: That's why he's doing whatever he's doing with ships. Even if he falls they won't be able to escape. Hell he even acceptable he might fall with his Hannybal you're my only sucessor speech. Tactically the best option is to make sure they don't escape. Without ships they're stuck there until he arrives or even if he is defeated. Sady going to level 1 was more of a stalling tactic until 1) Magellan arrives and 2) the guards have more time to do whatever they have to do with the ships.
And beside your acting like Magellan has been way behind them. He's been basically on their ass the whole time. Only stopping a bit to face whoever stalls for time.

Strange, in Little Garden arc Mr.3 showed himself as intellectual and now all he can think of is candle wall. And to make things worse, he is already give up.
He can throw hard candle spikes - its great ranged weapon, can imprison even giant, his candle ball is strong enough to let him survive the teeth and stomach of bananavani (so I conclude acid cannot melt his wax, otherwise he would died in Arabasta).Ivankov could hell-winked Magellan, not his hydra.
If Inazuma not stumbled on some limitations of his DF, then Mr.1 dos not have chance against Magellan too.
-
Does this deserve it's own thread? If so Luffy will be just fine.
-
@Urouge: He initially sent Shiryuu up to the main entrance to deal with Blackbeard, while he would make chase for Luffy and co. and try to sandwich them between the two gaolers. However, he never accounted for Shiryuu actually betraying him, thus the current situation.
-

Actually, it doesn't look messed up to me at all. If I put my hand on my back, it looks exactly the same?

When he first appeared he was incredibly versatile and dangerous, but now that he's fighting on the protagonists' side against a bigger bad, he's all but useless.

It just looks like her wrist is twisted in an unnatural way. Or the angling is just weird, I dunno.

Yeah, he thought Shiryuu got defeated by BB. BB was the one who finished off Hannyabal after all. So after Hannyabal is down is what I'm talking about.

Agreed, and its sad…

I'm guessing Ivan's somehow okay. At least I hope he is. It would be VERY disappointing if he was defeated so easily. He had the ability to make Luffy suffer in pain for 20 hours with just a prick from his fingers. He could have done the same to Magellan (I'm aware it's meant to cure, but it causes many fast regeneration cycles which would be painful to anyone). That would have made things too easy, but still, with such an ability, Ivan shouldn't be taken out that easily.
At least the arc's almost over. It's not that I didn't enjoy it, but the contrary. When I enjoy an arc enough, the breath of air from overcoming adversity spreads even to me, the reader.

probably not.
also, why the hell did you quote yourself in your signature, seems pretty redundant to me.

Go see a doctor.
-
Something about Robin in that suit with her sweating is turning me on, weird I know
and it really touched my heart how Mr. 3 saved Luffy
-
i know this may sound weird but IVa-chan in girl form is kinda hot.
I can't believe I said that. Mr 3 is the last defense against magellan. man
when the chips are down you can count on someone to pull something out of their a*% -

The candle wall he used now was obviously the smartest choice, since he was trying to protect more people than just himself. However, once he's alone with Magellan (if so happens), he'll probably be able to use more thought-through strategies.
-

Even if he had killed Magellan the poison hydras would still probably reach him. Before he can attack he has to defend. We'll see how he does in the next chapter.
E:Beaten to it.

He did use his powers to disguise himself and Buggy as a part of the prison, that shows he was still thinking smart. Maybe the Candle Wall was a reaction to the sudden attack, after all, he didn't really have anytime to think of a plan. We'll see something about it in the next chapter hopefully. Crap, sorry, didn't see how many people already we're talking about this.
-
I agree with Zyordius. The candle wall was a reaction from Mr.3. He had no time to think of a strategy. The Hydra was right on them! To form something more complicated would have taken more time. The man's resolve is badass.
On another note, I think that if the awakened Zoan's keep reviving themselves, it would make them less of a waste than they already have been. An unrelenting enemy like that deserves some credit. Sadi-chan however ISN'T living up to her potential.
I'm betting that Jinbei is just itching to get outside and into that water. We'll see what he can really do!
-

Agreed about the awakened Zoans being kind of a waste. Those panels could have been used to better show the fight Ivankov had with Magellan. But it was funny seeing Jinbei and Luffy stomp them in a second. Speaking of Jinbei, man i know, i really would like to see him bust out in the water, show us why he's the fishman Shichibukai. Maybe he'll pull a "free willy" to escape.
-
-
-
witness, the power of a Shichibukai!!!
Go Jinbei GO!!!!
-
Hmmm with Ivankov out, it seems there is no one to really keep Crocodile in check.
-
@$abZ:
Good point, but that makes him quite useless against strong powers (most of which have DF abilities). He may be strong in the water but he'll never get the chance to ever fight there with one of the strong powers. He was imprisoned with Ace so he must be very powerful… I thought he'd show some of that power on land. I just wonder how the gov't saw him as a threat to other high powers on land.
actually jimbei is quite deadly and could easily take out one of the strong powers in the one piece world. you have to remember that pirates spend most of their time at sea. jimbei is at his most strongest when he is fighting at sea. jimbei can easily destroy the pirate ships and then kill anybody that falls into the water. if the captain of the pirate ship is a df user then it gets even easier for jimbei to kill him. the world government probably recruited jimbei for that very reason. nobody in the sea is probably better than jimbei at taking out pirate ships in the sea. i want to see jimbei punch underwater and then shoot a very powerful water beam at pirate ships. with jimbei's powers it's very likely he can do that.
-

Actually, Jimbei's a fishman, not a merman. Get your facts straight . I am also looking forward to seeing Jimbei get in the water, I can imagine Luffy riding on his back to Marinford while destroying all ships along the way. And I want this arc to end already, I'm sick of all these cliffhangers .
-
Interesting chapter for me, i'd like to know what the BB's were doing, really thought Teach would do something badass  He didn't even feature, not even a mention. Magellan was hardcore, god knows how he caught up . Looking forward to the next episode, Mr.3's resolve .
Hmmm with Ivankov out, it seems there is no one to really keep Crocodile in check.
Yes, i noticed that, quite an interesting development…
I can see either croc escaping and going back to his old ways, or being caught, which wouldn't be fun at all  -
Now THIS was an awesome chapter. Mr. 3 helping out again, Ivankov taken down, Luffy and Magellan on the same floor… Dang, next week can't come soon enough.
-
Every week someone says that next week's chapter can't come soon enough…
and every week it's so true. xD
-

Just watch…(Im probably 99% wrong but..) Oda will suprise us all and release 8 chapter, 19 page per chapter volumes for each character. Thats 8 volumes
Trust me (yea right) he is just making these cover stories to give us a taste of where they are. (Now Prays this will happen:sad:)(I hope.) -
@Gia:

Trust me (yea right) he is just making these cover stories to give us a taste of where they are. (Now Prays this will happen:sad:)(I hope.)no if you actually look at the sanji and robin covers, all the cp9 covers were #11, sanji is #12 and robin is #13 so far, just means oda is now on cover story arc #13, if he keeps going with this pattern, each member will get 2 pages before they all meet up. they may meet up before oda is done showing what they all did on their islands though.
oda will most likely not go into each character's islands other then the cover pages. it's a good opportunity for filler episodes in the anime too! oda kind of foreshadowed them meeting back up very soon. instead of showing them all landing on their island, oda chose to tell luffy's story before he even mentioned where the others had landed. i'm figuring all of them are already on their way to where luffy is.
-
actually, robin is still 12. "十二"
-
@CCC:
actually, robin is still 12. "十二"
sorry sanji is 11, robin is 12. still the same idea, just a number off
i think it will take 8-12 chapters for luffy to get to marineford and meet up with the rest of the crew.
-
There would be too many top tier casualties. At least 3 of them would go down.
Im pretty sure there would be lesser casualties then using one person at the time to stall Magellan. Though i think its because Jinbei is afraid of a certain something that may happen which is why he asked Luffy to hurry up and save Ace.
-
Every week someone says that next week's chapter can't come soon enough…
and every week it's so true. xD
so we must make a time machine to go into the future where we can read the whole series without having to stop….. IT'S BRILLIANT!!!!!
.....if only
