Wow. The game looks amazing in motion.
-
When it comes to the US I wonder if it'll be censored. Was Origins censored?

Last I heard, it wasn't.
I do know that it got re-rated in Australia though.
-
Well, that certainly looks balls-to-the-wall awesome. Still trying not to get my hopes up too much, though, since like I said before; these types of games have the nasty habit of becoming repeptitive and bland…
Fingers crossed this one can avoid that!
-
Oh god, this game is lookin hot. Loving the graphics. I only wish that just one game would do the complete first half of the story including the 23rd tournament. That's like my favorite part and I don't think it's been in a single DB game so far…
-

Technically, it was censored in a way by the developers when it came out in Japan. By that, I mean that Bulma's whole shirt lifting scene is covered by the split portion of the DS's screens whereas you could see a little more in the anime. :p
But no, it wasn't censored when brought from Japan to the US. The only change was the opening, which is retarded, seeing as how they had the damn song in the ads.
-
Holy shit, that looks even better than I thought it would.

That was the one with Tenshinhan and Ciaotzu, right? I think they touched on it in BT3's Dragonball chapter in Story Mode, but I could be wrong.

Technically, yes. But, the 23rd involves Goku's fight with Piccolo.
-
They were there yes, but they had a bigger role in the 22nd Tenkaichi Budokai, where they debuted.
And no, unfortuanatly it wasn't talked about in Sparking Meteor. (Hates the name Budokai Tenkaichi). The only fight from a tournament in the game's story mode was Kid Goku Vs. Nam which was the 21st TB. The original DB got so cheated in that game's story mode.
EDIT-Darn, Tsukento beat me to it. Curse me and my need to go into unnecessary detail
-
Ah. I was one tournament off. Yeah, that one needs more love. Goku vs. Piccolo (II) was epic as shit.

Actually It has/will

Really? The 23rd Budokai? Wow, i thought it would begin on Raditz.
The Snes 'Gokuden' series was almost a visual novel with occasional rpg-style battles, but it wasn't half bad.Anyway..DB Advance Adventure was repetitive, yeah, but extremely fun to play, let alone the Kuririn replay value. God knows how much time i spent playing that. Just make it more lengthy and this game will be gold.

Yep, you still get to fight Pilaf.

Looks pretty sweet. Keeping my fingers crossed for the US release.

New trailer + game's opening by the same singer who did Makafushigi Adventure. :D
-
Nice.
IGN's placeholder release date is December 30th.

It is good that theyve used the updated animating style they use for Dragonball stuff nowadays, the cover looks sweet. Can't wait to hear more info about this game, looks promising.
-
I'm always in great wonderment why the games based on the first half of "Dragonball" always leave off at the Piccolo Daimao arc/part instead of leaving off at the 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament arc, which is the very last arc prior to the series entering its last part, and more well known part.
Can anyone please elucidate to me?
Edit: Whoops never mind!
-
Game looks awesome I especially like sexy Bulma on the main menu  . And Makafushigi Adventure has always been my favorite Dragon Ball/Z opening and the song sounds cool from what I can hear. Do you know the name of it?

It's called POWER OF DREAMER and is sung by Hiroki Takahashi
-
A single should be out eventually once the game's out in Japan.
-
If it wasn't already obvious Namco Bandai has claimed the rights to release all Dragon Ball games… for the next 5 years.

Does that change anything with releases of the games in the UK ?
EDIT, Ah I see it won't as all the UK Games have the Namco Bandai seal too. -
No, that's a press release for the US division of Namco Bandai.
-
Yeah, Atari was handling the releases in the US, while Namco-Bandai did it everywhere else.
-
Looking at the video really makes me wish they'd do a One Piece Round the Land 2. :(
-
Knowing Okatron5000 if they do the audio for this game I'm importing from Europe. I'm tired of them changing the original BGM with some re-hash music from Budokai 3…The only good bgm was that "Lost Courage" but that wasn't in BT3/Sparkling Meteor
-
OkraTron worked on these games a while back so both Europe and North America will be getting the English voice actors along with the option of switching to the Japanese audio. It's won't be the same situation as Unlimited Cruise.
-
Main question is: Will Namco-Bandai leave the intro alone in the US release? Atari was royally screwing us over until Burst Limit and Infinite World, whereas Europe got lyrical versions for the openings of the Budokai games and so forth. And Atari did also manage to screw us out of Makafushigi Adventure for Dragon Ball Origins (which was incredibly odd, seeing as how the ads for the game featured the song).
-
That song's awesome. I just hope we get it included. The American fans had always missed out on all the great music exclusive to Japan.
-
Release date is October 20th for the US, (15th for Australia, and not sure about the UK, but should be in October too) 11 days from now. Now that I have a Wii and beat No More Heroes tonight I want his BADLY. But I gotta get my PS3 out of layaway and I'm not gonna have any money.
Oh, I dunno what this says about the game, but it's introductory price is $39.99, like Unlimited Adventure, not $49.99… like everything else.
-
Yeah that game looks awesome, I hope they publish more games which cover the other arcs of Dragon Ball as well.

UK gets it 30th October in case anyone was wondering :P
-
The game's been rated E 10+ for Cartoon Violence, Mild Language and Tobacco References. So if the game had the usual fanservice, safe to say we ain't getting it.

The game is based on the later arcs of DB which didn't really have any fan service anyway.
Heads up for UK people, Amazon and Play has dropped the price to £17.99 (Same for Attack of the Sayians).

Uuuuuuh… since when? The title refers to Piccolo but I thought the game plays through the entire kid Goku part of Dragonball.
-
It starts after the first tournament, I believe.

The game follows on from the DS game (Origins) which ended after the 1st tournament. So it probably starts after that, like Toastboy says.
-
i like this game it is very rare to play a dragonball game which does not have fighting like most dragonball games .also it is about the first part of dragonball not z i like the first part more !
-

I think Red Ribbon Army and Piccolo Saga.
-
So it's a sequel to the DS game? Jeez, that's stupid. I was wanting to kick Yamcha and Pilaf's asses. What's with all the Wii sequels to DS games?
-
Pilaf is a boss in the game and Yamcha is in the Vs. Mode.
-
Still, I don't get why we can't just play through the whole story. The part that happened in the DS game isn't large, it could easily go on a Wii game without sacrifice.
-
So, did anyone buy this already and can give some impressions ? :wassat:
-
A DB fan on the backloggery said it's short. That's all I got.
-
I played and finished it. It gets repetitive about halfway in, but overall it was pretty enjoyable. Not worth the money though.
-
Not worth $40? That's not a good sign for early DB games.
