Lupin III is one of the greatest classic animes of all time! Does anyone else here like it?

I love Lupin. Most of my experience is from what Cartoon Network has shown, and I've started following the manga. Zenigata is one of my favorite characters ever.
-
I love Lupin the Third. I got hooked on it after watching it on Adult Swim, then I bought the entire first manga series and the Secret of Mamo movie (which comes with a free keychain.)
My favorite character from the series is Inspector Zenigata, though Lupin and Jigen come close.
I will say that I think it is the better "thief" series opposed to Bandit King Jing, which is in a fantasy world wheras Lupin deals in more real world-like settings.
-
I can't get into Bandit King Jing. I read a volume of the manga, and it seemed monotonous, though I lovedn the Halloween-esque feel.
-
Although I haven't seen too many, I love Lupin III movies. The tv series is pretty good too but I seem to like the movies more.
-
Heck yes I love Lupin III. I particularly like Castle of Cagliostro - but then again, it's friggin' Castle of Cagliostro, of course I would  Straight-up anime classic right there, yep.
-
It's one of the Anime my father and I used to watch together. My father is huge fun of this. :D (Me? I watch if my dad's watching it and I'm in Japan :P)
-
I've watched Lupin III since i had eyes to watch (that's an awful lot of yrs ago x.x). And it was one of the few animes which my whole family watched together.
I also love the soundtrack of the lupin eps and movies. I listen to them all the time… and i want more! If anyone have some ost's, plz pm me and i'll be grateful :)
-
I saw some episodes of Lupin III on MTV and they were great. Goemon is my favorite character (Fujiko is second :D ).
-
I'm in the process of getting badly hooked on the anime and loving every minute of it. Now I just need to get my hands on the movies and the manga (oooh, this is going to get expensive, I just know it).
-
Lupin III is the shit. Before I never even saw it, and I knew I would love it. It's definately one of the top ten, totally underrated in the States.

Yeah; it sucks that Lupin didn't do too well on [adult swim]. I don't think Detective Conan was really popular either.
-
Speaking of Lupin III, I wish sometimes a fanfic crossover of Lupin meet Luffy by simple luck. Zoro having a swordfight challenge against Goemon….
-
Jigen: one of the most kickass anime characters ever (love the hat ^^ ).
-
God, I am such a huge Lupin III fan. I loved the concept to death when I saw it on Adult Swim, and I got hooked. Next thing you know, I'm snagging the DVDs and manga every chance I get (and hot damn is Lupin different in Monkey Punch's manga).
Lupin III has to be one of the best things to come from Japan in all of ever, and I'll stick by that remark.
-
I loved watching Lupin, I wish they would have kept showing it on AS (and more episodes, too many reruns). The only DVD I actually own is Castle of Cagliostro, which of course is awesome because it's also a Miyazaki film.
-
ah an all-time favorite,
it was the first anime i ever watched as a 10 year old child and ive loved it ever since then and have watched thru the entire first and second season and almost all the movies, and my favorite character would have to be Jigen with his loyalty to Lupin and his distrust of women and especialy fujiko and the hat you gotta love the hat :P
but as a close second weve got Zenigate simply be cause he hilarious and his interaction with Lupin is wonderful and the fact that he never ever ever gives up. -

Actually, both Lupin the Third and Cased Closed (Detective Conan for those of you who get anal about calling it by it's original name) are being aired during the weekdays at around 4 PM Central time, right after the second run of that night's AS programming. Just don't expect new episodes unless the companies see alot of success with the series (i.e. more merchandise sales).
Note: The last sentence was a theory.
-
I assume you mean 4AM. :) I'm not up at that time, of course.

It sucks that both shows got cancelled. Well when it comes to Adult Swim, if anime doesn't have action, romance, repeating storylines, hot looking men, to please those stupid poser emo fans, then it gets cancelled. It sucks to see innovative anime like Lupin and Conan just get kicked in the balls and told "I don't like your art style."

That's not entirely true. I mean, Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex doesn't have repeating storylines and has brief action, but it's still running despite all of the episodes have been aired.
I would use Paranoia Agent as an example but that hasn't been finished yet. But it is really good.
-
I'm sorry, but Ghost in the Shell: SAC is one of the most godawful boring series I've ever watched.
And Paranoia Agent is excellent.

**Well, I never said that it was good or exciting. I was mainly interested in it due to the Catcher in the Rye reference. I was using it as an arguement against the idea that the Inuyasha fans (since they fit that description) alone don't watch cause an anime series to not have any newly dubbed episodes.
And the most boring series I ever saw was S-CRY-ed. I watched the first episode and it did nothing for me, depsite the large amount of action brought by the Altar users.
-
yeah, the Adult Swim fans tend to, mostly, be pretty sheeply. Seriously, the boards will blow your mind. Especially the anti-dub Inuyasha fans. They're the most insane of them all…
-
Most Adult Swim fans are frightening.
And I couldn't get into s-CRY-ed either, even though I kind of liked the concept (though it seems to be a JoJo ripoff).
-
Finally saw 'The Castle of Cagliostro' last night and wow was it excellent! One of the most overall enjoyable anime I have ever seen. Loved the music in it, loved the art and animation, especially loved the truce between Lupin and Zenigata (yay!). Really, it is just a wonderful piece on so many levels. Miyazaki rules!
-
Lupin the Third is better nice…. I didn't watch most of the episodes but I like it...

Obviously, the art style is outdated. What would they expect? It was done in the 70's! I guess Conan gets repetetive after a while with the same think happening every episode.
