I think that Whitebeard, like Shanks, has no devil fruit.
Theories That Don't Deserve Their Own Thread

I have to comment just to say how much I hate the translation in that first image, what the hell were they trying to do to Blackbeard's speech? >_>;
Anyway, the idea of time-travel is interesting, but I really think Whitebeard just has massive amounts of both physical strength and ambition. I think the reason he seems to talk about the days with Roger as being so long ago is simply that he is much older than most of his rivals, and especially with people like Shanks, has watched them grow from something with little strength into what they are now. Although he is still renowned as the strongest, the fact that he is now ranked alongside Roger's cabin boy, who probably wasn't that strong back then, certainly must give him an impression of "damn, times really have changed", lmao.

If Whitebeard had a Devil Fruit of that magnitude, he would have been epic past everything.
That and he would have done more than just split the sky when he duked it out with Shanks.
Just no. -
I think that Whitebeard, like Shanks, has no devil fruit.
yepe DF is for noobs
they are Pro's they can handle all DF users no matter what ability they have !!!! -
I love how everyone is calling Mr.2 bentham now XD
-
Whitebeard is Haki Logia. He emits, produces, controls and is a haki.
-
What is bisento?
"A Bisen-to is a kind of Japanese pole weapon (adopted from China, the mighty Kwan-do/Guan dao, from Kwan Gung/Guan Yu) which greatly resembles a naginata. It consists of a thick curved blade mounted atop a long wooden pole. Much heavier than the naginata in construction, there is some accounts of it being used as a training weapon to improve one's naginatajutsu. The history of the weapon is a little obscure; the claim of the Kukishinden Ryu is that the weapon was introduced from China during the 5th century. This would make the weapon the most likely precursor to the naginata. Used in warfare as an anti-cavalry weapon, it would be used against both horse and rider. The bisento is essentially the Chinese Kwan dao."

Time time no mi seems like a good idea, but personally, I think that DF would make Wb just way too powerful. He's an old-school pirate, he will have figured out the most amazing ways to use his fruit, which wold give him too much of an advantage. I think he has an awesome fruit, but one that seems relatively weak, though he ids able to use the best features of it and defeat peopl with even a Logia ability, with the help of limited Haki. Thining Haki is gonna be the new Super Sayan is the wrong way to approach it, it will merely give Luffy etc a chance to even compete on the Logia level, but other techniques will still be used, in addition to the help of Haki.
-
Waaay too much speculation, pretty sure this falls under "Theories that don't deserve their own threads."

Just no.he didnt use any kind of devil fruit power against Shanks.
-
he didnt use any kind of devil fruit power against Shanks.
Oh i had an idea on how he used it against shanks just to show him how powerful he is :)
Look at when he threw the sake bottle on shanks. The logical assumption was that Shanks dodged it at high speed right?
noooooo!!! :)
WB reversed the time to a point where noone was in front of him then threw the bottle and came back to when Shanks was in front of him. Just to say "haa look at what i'm able to do" …. :p
And the limitation of that fruit could be that he ca't go back x hours in the past but only a few minutes. -
when pigs can fly that is !!!!

@Vash:
…..... with the help of limited Haki. ........
Limited haki for Whitebeard? How did you come to that conclusion?
The usual prediction would be that Whitebeard has the King's Haki too. Just like Luffy, Roger and Rayleigh…... and Hancock... -
When Whitebeard attacks the 23 Scout Ships from the marines they say that all happened in an instant and we aren´t talking about small ships, scout ships could have the same size than the Buster Call ones.
And Sengoku seems to be very worried about the situation
Since Whitebeard remembers Sengoku then the Admiral Chief must know the powers of Whitebeard, he is worried because he knows that they are unable to see when the Yonkou is going to attack and where.
All this situation seems to be very well fitted for a character that has the time manipulation power under his hands.

Just no.Newgate isn´t a murderer or a cold blooded pirate, he knows that Shanks isn´t going to attack him and this is a reason why he never activates it at 100%.
When Rockstar leaves the message from Shanks Whitebeard never attacks him and Shanks stops his subordinate because he knows that Whitebeard is only going to use his strenght in the case that he is attacked by someone.

I know that this a work of fiction but in the case that I am right Oda could have taken the idea that time only goes forward limiting the possibilities of Whitebeard fruit for making his character more epic under the subject "person who fights with time against an ilness".
In other words, If I am right then he is only able to modify the speed of time, he isn´t unable to go back in time.
-

Yup, Even Oda won't dare to break the second law of thermodynamics!
But Newgate could be very well able to alter the path (or better the probability) of a time path…
-
he is only able to modify the speed of time, he isn´t unable to go back in time.
and the difference with the noro noro no mi is. . .???
-
-
LOL, that was a cool link :P
-
^You gotta visit Digg sometimes…
-
and the difference with the noro noro no mi is. . .???
Noro Noro no Mi isn´t a time manipulation fruit, it makes things goes slower but it doesn´t manipulate time.
-
A lot of your "points" are really reaching.
A fleet of ships disappear at once so thats evidence WB used time manipulation powers to do it?
-
Limited haki for Whitebeard? How did you come to that conclusion?
The usual prediction would be that Whitebeard has the King's Haki too. Just like Luffy, Roger and Rayleigh…... and Hancock...No. The rightful conclusion would be that since the King's Will is said to be rare, everyone and their mother having it woud be stupid.
@Secret:
Oda: Hey Luffy! You've got this one of a kind power that you only share with Hancock, Queen of the Amazons!
Luffy: Cool!!
Oda: Oh wait, Whitebeard, Rayliegh, Roger, Shanks, Mihawk, and Zoro have it too.
Luffy: Hold on, I thought it was rare?
Oda: According to fans everybody in the story having it is okay. It doesn't cheapen the fact that you have it one bit.

Dude, do you know that if you replace "Time Manipulation" with Cheese Logia your post makes just as much sense if not more?
-
cheese logia would be awesome. . .
it has holes in it (about as much as this theory has :D), it can be either hard or fluid, it is sticky, it smells. . .
-
Cheese Cheese Fruit Model Swiss Cheese?
-
Sorry it's Milk Milk Fruit: Model Cheese :)
I guess that's how he really earned the nickname of Whitebeard… :ninja:
-
yes, because milk is dairy and cheese also and dairy makes the bones stronger, of course resulting in a massive haki boost
-
Brooke will be happy fighting him then..
-
OMG, that. . .
that means. . . .Brook = Haki O_o (after fighting WB)
-
The time DF is an interesting DF. Too bad we have nothing that indicates that WB has such a power. But hey it's a prediction.
Maybe WB has just more strength than the rest and is therefore able to pwn everyone in a 1 vs 1 match. -
No. The rightful conclusion would be that since the King's Will is said to be rare, everyone and their mother having it woud be stupid.
Yups, It would be stupid, for a guy who equaled the Pirate king to have King's Haki.
-
Someone might've said this already, but I predict that when we see the rest of the crew again, they will all have cool upgrades for thier weapons/fighting styles thanks to the people and the islands they landed at.
well im kind of hoping nami's will be better than what the old man did, after all i could just see nami beating loads of marines by pulling a knot and bang a hurricane appears…........ but seriously though hopefully this wont be in her arsenal of fighting techniques
-
that we indeed be really lame :D I hope it is a bit more original like some knotted strings that hang on her clima tact everywhere that give new techniques to the weapon
-
I hope Usopp gets his own bounty, and Sogeking has a separate one, then Luffy and Chopper would be like "Looking now even Usopp has a bounty" or something like that, but funnier.
-
^I actually thought that the moment I saw Sogeking's poster.. That will add further hilarity to this series..
-
Maybe the key to Raftel is the King's Haki, which Whitebeard doesn't have?
And no to Time Time no mi. Most retarded, unoriginal ability ever. I'd prefer Cheese Cheese no mi. Or Beard Beard no mi -> The ability to generate the biggest beard in the world, which carries a power greater than haki.
-

it would be funny to see usopps trial and errors at making it…..remember the 1st time nami used the tempo. so lame and funny
also this whole rope stuff reminds me of paulies moves, the shipwright

The Key to Raftel will be Robin no doubt about it.

What is this standards?
Everyone and there mother don't have it, and for the ones who will have King's Haki, they are of course going to be Pirates of high stature in the One Piece world, back to the drawing broad for you. -

Anyway, stop being a faggot. "Everyone and their mother" is a hyperbole. Too many people in a story with a rare ability is stupid. That's why Super Saiyin turned so stale after a while. Luffy and Hancock are the only people that need to have it, and maybe Marshall, seeing as how he's the most probable endboss and they usually mirror the hero to a degree.

One in a million people have the king's disposition, right? I'm sure that means that its not SO rare that there are only 2 or 3 people capable of possessing it.
There are more than 3 million people in the OP world.Anyway, stop being a faggot.
homophobia is gay

Dang, I got a headache, Zkaiser must have posted something retarded again.

Anyway, stop being a faggot.
Says the guy with the a man crush on Deltron, Come out the closet already, you ain't fooling anyone.

fedcom handled that.

Which leads me to my 1st, post on this subject.
http://www.apforums.net/showpost.php?p=1072002&postcount=2891Whitebeard not having King's Haki would be stupid, the man is at the top of the One Piece world, is the closet to One Piece. Whitebeard is the most powerful pirate to ever challenge Gold Rogers for supremacy, and he equaled the former Pirate King.

Ah I never understood that tingling feeling in my head.
Anyway, kings disposition shouldnt be too rare. Prolly most big shot pirate captains can use it, and according to crocodile there are a lot of big shot 2nd rate pirate captains who couldnt stand up to gold roger or whitebeard, but who did posess respectable amounts of power nonetheless.
Why should only luffy and hancock be able to use this power then?
Edit: And besides that, wasnt alabasta alone supposed to have about 1 million inhabitants already?
-
Hey Zkaiser, I'm going to throw a theory out there now and it's all because of your sig.
Luffy will be a woman!! -
just a shitty theory, you guys see that there is a HUGE party after each arc is over? or at least a party involved in the arc, it generally involves the whole villagers who where saved, the crazyest example is how the rolling pirates suddenly popped at the end and partied around just that thriller bark felt better when it ended.
so my theory is that there will be a bunch of nice guys on lv6 and luffy and all of the rescued prisioners will party there, it would be hilarious o watch.
then after the whitebeard war, luffy will probably party with some whitebeard pirates and some shichibukai like hancock or jinbei,
then they will party on Mermen island and probably some tenryuubito will be there too.
then they will party at Elbaf, and it will be a party so crazy the island will explode.
theory confirmed! there is a bunch of cheerful okamas to party with below lv5.
-
theory confirmed! there is a bunch of cheerful okamas to party with below lv5.
wow thats unfair, coz you mentioned every plausble place they could party, you even listed elbaf  so im not surprised you got it right
-
@John:
wow thats unfair, coz you mentioned every plausble place they could party, you even listed elbaf  so im not surprised you got it right
not really, my prediction is that ALL these parties will take place, the first one is confirmed, if any of the other parties are ignored somehow then my theory fails.
back when I made the theory Its like I was joking (lol, a bunch of party guys below lv5?) just found pretty funny the fact that they DID find a bunch of nice guys below lv5, oh, AND PARTYING by the way, I just found it hilarious.
-
these are the only people who should have the kings disposition haki: Luffy, Teach, Whitebeard, and Hancock. Anyone else will have lower levels, like Ray and Shanks have the haki right below the kings, maybe Zoro and Sanji have that, another one lower, like the one the axe guy who was with Kizaru(cant spell his name)
