[hide]Hmm. So I have been really wondering what the hell Luffy will or can do to get out of this mess. Part of me wonders whether or not he will even save Ace, thinking that maybe Ace will get transported to Marine HQ forcing Luffy to head there. Reasons I feel a little stronger about this – especially now -- is because Luffy has been spotted inside Impel Down. As far as we know, the guards have alerted the Marine HQ about Luffy being inside the prison, so I can imagine them pulling Ace out and transporting him ASAP. For instance, relaying the information and having Momonga -- or someone -- take Ace with Hancock as an escort. This could give Luffy and opportunity to take out Momonga and "take out" Hancock (so she remains "innocent") and commandeer the ship, or it could mean that Luffy has to pursue them to Marine HQ. Ugh.[/hide]
Another part of me doesn't know what to think. Maybe Luffy will actually save Ace and head to Saboady and meet up with everyone there. Maybe. IDK! How is he going to get out!? TELL ME ODA!!!
Just minimizing on size. Man, I'm anxious to discuss, but work is really putting on the pressure, either way. Obama-rama has officially started (LOL Shameless plug).
Now, to the theories. Like some have said, after the crushing lose Luffy just suffered on Sabaody, it'd be awful for him to experience another crushing lost, or be captured. I mean, the timeline couldn't fit more perfectly, Luffy invades Impel Down, and WB is about to attack somewhere (WG / MHQ / ID), they don't have a clue.
I had always imagined that Luffy would get in easily, but once he's in, getting out would be the real challenge. So, now the question is this… did the guards who identified SH Luffy, the guards on L2, or on another level. Right now I'm guessing L2, and that the news of the second assailant hasn't yet reached the main offices. Someone can put me in my place is there's a clearer understanding of what actually happened.
Now, I'm guessing Luffy will use Mr. 3's help to get to L3, but not before having to defeat another creature on L2, or the L2 "boss", and then they'll advance to L3. I expect the challenge will progressively get more challenging, but Luffy will pick up more help as he goes down. This is all easily interpolated from the situation. Now, here's what I'm expecting. Luffy will stay unrecognized with the Chaos he's created until he's close to or reaches Ace's location. What this does is it gives us a really fast pace feeling, and sets up the long struggle and excruxiating frustration of how the hell they will get out of this. With Luffy identified, they'll request help from the marines on the battle ships outside, as well as additional help from MHQ. At this time is when WB will strike, causing resources to be unavailable, and Luffy will just have to battle it out with the resources currently at ID. With the help of the ersatz-SH crew he's gathered and even Hancock I'm guessing will help Luffy, they'll make it out. At least, these are my thoughts.

…Stuff about Tom...
Not until Zoro shows up and cuts off Luffy's arm, anyway.
Just making stuff shorter. I'm not a big fan of the Tom theories, but if it happens, ok. I've grown accustomed to Oda's style with this sort of thing.
And I've always thought that Luffy losing his arm was in reference to Luffy losing Zoro… or were you joking and I totally didn't see it. LOL!
