great episode. Best flashback ever in the anime

I'd been looking forward to this episode for so long and it did not disappoint. It was awesome. The Rumbar Pirates deaths were sad and Bink's Sake was pure win. I loved it and I hope someone rips an MP3 of it and that it be released as Brook's character single.

I cried when I read the chapter. I cried when I watched the episode.
-
Some of those guys were supposed to have arrows sticking out of them. Didn't detract from anything though.

They also toned down the gaping head wound of the skull he picked up for the "could you teach me to use a sword" flashback. That in and of itself doesn't detract from much, but the panel where he's got his hand against the great big cracked hole in his friend's head is a huge gutpunch for me.
Although maybe it's better this way, I cried enough as it is.

It's unfortunate, but things from the manga are being toned down lately, especially in this latest arc. We should be grateful they let Zoro's injuries slide, but they probably couldn't get away with it here as well, since that just happened. I agree they did a good job, despite the missing injuries. At least we could tell they were injured, since they still had blood and all.
-
OR maybe they decided to correct Oda's mistake in the chapter. You know, the sword through the skull while the same guy is seen singing with the other Rumbars near the end of the flashback. ;P
Of course, it could just have been that they toned it down. I'm a bit amazed by the fact Toei didn't have Ryuma stab Brook in the head in the flashback fight (while it's "only" cracked bones) but did that massive pool of blood around Zoro when he took Luffy's pain. Good job guys. XDAnyway, amazing episode. I had been waiting for it for months, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. Bink's sake was absolutely amazing… going back and forth between the Rumbar Pirates, the Straw-hats, Brook alone on his ship... damn, I cried like a baby when reading the manga, and it happened again with the episode, even though I already knew the story by heart...
Some parts where really funny though, just like in the chapter XD "EEEEH, YOU CAN DO THAT?!?" XD (and of course, "45°" is the most epic thing ever)On a random note, I hope we see Brook's eyecatch in next episode. It felt a bit dumb to see Luffy's during this episode, since we see him, like, 2min in the whole thing XD

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! FUCK YOU ODA! MAKING ME BREAK MY 4 YEAR NO CRYING STREAK! AND YOU TO TOEI! FUCK YOU!
No seriously. Epically sad. R.I.P Rumbar pirates.

Awesome episode. I really love these emotional flash-backs. Great way to end it all with that wonderful song. I'm never deleting this episode.
-
I love this episode~!
It was so sad, of course I cried. As I did in the manga.
I also love the "Bink's Sake" song. I thought it was amazingly done. -
Sad episode indeed. Oda outdone himself T_T, with Brook's Story. I feel sorry for Brook.
-
Wow, awesome song! I now demand that we get an entire CD of nothing but Bink's Sake renditions. One from the show, one by the whole crew, one by Shanks and co., and one for each of the Straw Hats, with Brook's as the finale version.
I was moved, but I admit I didn't cry. Maybe because I knew what was coming. Or maybe I'm just a hard nut to crack.
But I think this really shows the value of planning ahead as an author. Oda knew that this was coming, and he wrote the lyrics years in advance to give the composer (who deserves an award) plenty of time to create a great song.
But you know what I like best? This song sound like a cousin of the "party piano", as I like to call it, the piece that plays in every bar/party/kooky scene (it played in this episode right after the CM break).
Hats off to you, Oda, and ESPECIALLY to you, Mr. Tanaka, for writing a great melody.

Wow. This was a fantastic episode. I watched this from the last weeks to now. Watching a flashback in one go is totally worth it.
Oda has truly written a great song.

I'm sorry for being a heartless bastard, but I couldn't help but laugh when everyone started keeling over. It felt like I was watching a Python sketch or something.
Actually I felt the same way but I really don't think they could have done it any other way. It just looked a little silly but it still didn't affect the overall impact.
