Thread: American Politics: We're in for it now

Trumps bigotry and deflection in calling it "the chinese virus" isn't just error or off the cuff racism, it's scripted.

Also, dude needs glasses or laser surgery or something. I mean, I'm sure speech script is generally larger than normal but that's just pure blindness there.

Lindsay Graham and Meadows are both pressing him not to do that. I expect him to cave since it's not something he legitimately cares about.

Annoying though that people are parroting the "OUTFLANKING DEMOCRATS ON THE LEFT" idiocy when there are plenty of more generous proposals from Democrats.

I really hate people who pretend to be progressive, but then flock to a proven regressive like trumpy. Disgusting. I get it, I wanted Bernie, but joe can hopefully be forced to the left in a general election and kept there...somehow. With any luck ol' mush brain will pick a decent vp.

Reminder that the Trump Administration is appealing a court decision that is blocking their attempt to cut food assistance benefits to 700,000 people.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

Also Senator Richard Burr dumped over $1.5 million in stocks over the past few weeks; around that time, he also secretly informed a group of high level donors about the severity of the impending pandemic.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

Also Senator Kelly Loeffler sold millions of dollars in stock after a Senate briefing on the coronavirus back in January; she also bought stock in a company that sells telecommmuting software. Worth noting that Loeffler didn't win an election for her position because she was appointed by Kemp specifically because of her status as a party hack.

Two GOP Senators under what basically amount to corruption charges? Fancy that.

Also, I want to make this declaration early: I'm willing to bet 1000 pages from now we're going to be in a better place than we are now. Look forward to it!

If only someone could have predicted this would work.

Unfortunately it doesn't even matter that it'll be used to dismantle our existing social safety nets because he only needs to appear to be generous until the end of the election.

The Chinese blood in me boils. Also he could wear some fucking glasses (god knows we've had plenty of presidents who've worn them), but that would RUIN HIS IMAGE! God forbid that.

Georgia's other Senator, David Perdue, sold a bunch of casino stocks and bought pharmaceutical stocks in late February. A few other Republicans are having their names tossed around like Inhofe but his moves are lot less suspicious than those three.

And, of course, the BernieBros on Twitter are trying to both sides this with Dianne Feinstein whose husband sold stock in a biotech firm (one that was tanking no less) around this time and Blumenthal whose spouse seems to have bought and sold stock around them. Feinstein, Blumenthal, and the rest need to answer some questions but they're nowhere near the same thing as Burr, Perdue, and Loeffler. Particularly since Burr was publicly downplaying the pandemic threat.

Those pages are in plastic sleeves. The idiot-in-chief marked on the plastic not the paper itself.

Hey, not really politics or anything, but how do you like Wisconsin?

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

I'm a Bernie supporter through and through, but even I'll admit that a lot of hupis supporters on the internet are fucking ridiculous. Kyle kulinski was reeing about the rigged system or whatever, and refuses to support biden even though he's clearly going to be the nominee. Now I support sticking to your ideals, but the left can't stay divided like it is if we want to have a snowball's chance in hell of beating trumpy.

At a guess, his handlers put pages in those sleeves to keep him from writing directly on those or tearing them up when he's done reading them. The guy has a habit of doing the latter, presumably because he's used to trying to destroy evidence.

He actually does have reading glasses, we've known for a while and he was forced to admit it in court at one point.
He's just so vain that he refuses to wear them in public.

Wasn't that in the video where it wasn't clear if trumpy could even read at all, lol?

Yet another "outlier" poll showing Trump is doing a good job.

    And another one: https://twitter.com/PpollingNumbers/...33871593320449

As long as the Democratic strategy is "hide until November instead of pointing out how Trump is getting people killed, while Trump himself gets to do pressers every day", this will be the new normal.

If saw several videos on twitter showing how Trump and Fox New gave a complete 180 on their believes on the case. If I was one watching Fox News, it should be clear that they can't claim it's a hoax an then two weeks latter say it's a global pandemic; that's the most discussing type of hipercrisis.

No, it's more like they only think with their feelings and feelings can change, especially when those feelings are just follow the loudest idiot that says stuff I like.

For example, it would be like if the right were vehemently opposed to pineapple pizza because it violated everything that pizza stood for. Pizza should have tomato sauce, cheese, meat from the animal you shot yourself, and vegetables...NO FRUIT. Then one day a conservative republican overlord tells them "You know, a slice of pineapple pizza just happened to fall in my mouth the other day and it was the best pizza I ever had, plus it turns out chinese sausage killed my entire family. No more chinese sausage, yes pineapple aid."
