Not sure why this is a common mistake in the fandom.
Because last name first doesn't register as a thing in our culture, so you see "Boa Hancock" you think it in that order unless you also see her sisters with her labelled the same way.

No matter how many wanted signs rely on hiding a middle initial in the last name.

I don't think they've announced all playable characters. Fujitora and Doflamingo haven't been officially revealed yet and there's a very high chance of Kidd and Drake imo. A month is still plenty of time for announcements.

We're waiting for Doflamingo, Fujitora, Shanks, and Blackbeard to be added to the website, we know they're in

The remaining 7 potentially cut characters would be Kuma, Moria, Perona, Garp, Caesar, Eneru, and Magellan. I think besides Kuma, the rest are probably cut

And then there are Kid and Drake, who have been seen with models for both Pre and Post Time Skip, as well as a Supernova trophy seemingly confirming them playable

And then, personally, I think Jack will be playable as well, considering they have modeled both his Normal and Mammoth appearances. I think, considering things are being cut in the first place, they wouldn't have gone the extra mile to model a normal version of Jack only to be used in cutscenes, while the Mammoth version is only for boss. But we'll see

I know there's always the chance they'll turn up in the next month or even in the 9 DLC characters incoming, but....
Moria being cut when his arch nemesis has finally been added and he's recently possibly become a major part of Blackbeard's crew is a strange move.
No Kuma either despite Pacifista's model being in the game either.
This is even the game where there's an emphasis on HUGE characters being more accurately sized and yet the two biggest warlords are getting skipped over...?

    What a weird choice.

Ceasar being cut despite his role in Wholecake and Dressrosa seems a little strange too. I didn't even enjoy playing Ceasar in PW3 but it's another weird choice, especially since he can fly and that's a whole other major feature here...

However, no one ever had trouble with Monkey D. Luffy and Roronoa Zoro. I think it's a relevancy thing. Luffy, Zoro, Robin, and even Law had more panel-time than Hancock, so it's easier for westerners to memorize it for the former rather than the latter.

You never see their full names outside of bounty posters, while Hancock gets her full name used constantly.

I feel like you guys are ignoring the true problem for why people prefer to say Boa, so im just gonna go ahead and say it, Hancock, not to mention its a surname.
”Hancock (surname) Hancock is an English surname. It is derived from a given name, a short form of the name Johan combined with the hypocoristic suffix -cok which came into fashion in the 13th century, from cok "cock", applied to "a young lad who strutted proudly like a cock".”

And its a western name, so I dont see why any westerner would have any trouble memorizing it.

Wonder why Oda named her Hancock?

Well, you could say she is a young lady who struts proudly like a cock.

Isn't it totally irrelevant if you call her Boa or Hancock? Both names are still her name. It isn't uncommon in western countries to call someone by their lastname. So why bother und start a discussion about such an irrelevant topic. Everybody knows who is meant if you say Boa.
Btw. Law is also referenced many times as Trafalgar oder Traffy or Tra-guy, while he is calling Robin Nico-ya btw. So I don't see a problem here.

    Exactly. Totally irrelevant and unnecessary.

Enel felt so smooth to play as (and was overpowered as all hell) in PW3. I hope he comes back. However, he doesn't rate too highly in popularity polls anymore so I guess he's off the radar.

What platform is everybody getting this on? I'm gonna get it for Switch because I want to see how bad it can runI wouldn't mind having this one on the go.

Was Fujitora the most over-powered character in 3? Getting a 1000 K.O.'s took like a minute with his meteors.

It would be so stupid to leave out both Enel and magellan, Enel so much more so, a logia...

I think you guys are missing the point with Boa Hancock. Oda took a lot of inspiration from actually western pirate names and instead of naming them with family names first he just kept the names in the same order so they'd sound exactly like western names are supposed to.

For example, there really was a Blackbeard, real name Edward Teach. Yet we have a Whitebeard named Edward Newgate where clearly any westerner would assume Edward is his given name and Newgate the family name. We also have Blackbeard who is Marshall D. Teach, again western people would obviously think Teach is his family name. These sort of characters are named with the idea that you always say both their given and family names, it's a package deal to produce the same sounding names as western names.

Why create characters based on real people with western names and then name them Teach Edward or Kidd William?

Follow up, Trafalgar Law's name in Japanese should be written and pronounced Low, plus there were actual pirates with the name Low. In Japanese his name is "ロー" also known to westerners as "square minus-sign" (sorry couldn't resist) and would be written as Lo, Low, Ro, Roe, Row, something like that.

Whereas with the name Law I would expect his Japanese name to be "ラー" this is the exact same as in "ラーメン" Ramen noodles.
