The series just feels weirdly amateurish. The art is messy and everything is hard to follow. Character constantly throw around new terms.

The main character isn't very interesting. He seems to have already overcome his weaknesses. People complain about Naruto going from having to work hard to being the destined child, and to an extent I agree, but he still had work hard to succeed. Hachimaru went from being a kid who couldn't leave the house due to illness, to a badass who can easily defeat the villains within the first few chapters.

It's too bad. As I said before I did enjoy Naruto to the end, and I'm really enjoying Boruto (Both the anime and the manga). I wish this was better. Hopefully it gets better.

I don't find it hard to follow honestly. Samurai key, holder and a Princess. Pretty simple, even the way of the Samurai concept. I just haven't seen anything that has hooked me yet. I like the art style, but I need something to keep me engaged like i'll go crazy if there was a break week for it.

    Canceled in 3...2...

oh wait it's kishimoto so they will give him way more time than this series will probably deserve. He was a one trick pony, with naruto becoming shit long before it ended.

Everything is plug-and-play.
Update: The bone hilt is part of the holder, just like the guns (even though Daruma has his own hilt) and there's a princess component now. I just follow this manga because it's between the other stuff that I read and the morbid curiosity of whether it will get axed.

Oh boy, princesses who need to be protected. That bodes well for the female characters in this series.

Ann has a pretty good design at least.

Lol, thought the same thing. Not a fan of it going the "They're fated to be together!" route either.

Will this series be the worst parts of the last naruto arcs destilled into the entire story? I hope not.

The device that the Professor uses reminds me of the
    Spoiler:
Reaper technique that the 3rd used against Orochimaru
. I'm guessing after this debacle, the story changes for the better. Maybe more world building

I really liked this last chapter and I've either gotten used to the art, or it's become better. This has officially joined my definite reads list.

Yeah, I on the other hand am totally not feeling it. They set up a battle royale only for us to see a bunch of random panels and then out of nowhere shows up this noble samurai wh wants a duel with the main char? Hmm, not making any sense to me. The story just isn't interesting. There is a lot of potential underneath, but it's just not clicking in terms of presentation. At all. The art is getting better, at least. I agree with that. It seems more to me like Kishi is the one drawing and some random new guy is writing, while it's the opposite actually...

Yeah definitely. Later naruto arcs and now samurai 8 give me zero confidence in what early naruto would have been without many editor suggestions.

Those changes are interesting, because they clearly made the manga better, but then ended being negative points. Kishimoto didn't know how to handle Sasuke or the konoha 11. But then, if Kishi was already getting lost before Sasuke's introduction the alternative would have been not getting any Naruto at all.

About Samurai 8, I kind of want to know what's happening currently, but reading the manga is so hard between the art and the exposition. Anyone have a summary of what happened after Hachi met the princess?

I'm not smart at all and i'm able to understand what's going on. I keep seeing people say that it's hard to keep up with. I think it's more about not wanting to understand it, which is weird in itself. I haven't read any complex storytelling or concepts.

They needed an alternative to the keys and Hachi's creator felt bad and ran away with him. Keys open boxes, princesses can support Samurai. They want to find the keys and protect the universe from Carla. The protagonist is bland and the story is just ok. Nothing to fall in love with and no complex narrative techniques. The only interesting thing is salty Naruto fans looking for reasons to bash Kishimoto and using this average manga as an excuse. I could be wrong tho.

Wow, i'm just catching up. Started on ch 21, now on 25.
    Spoiler:
The twist with Kotsuga was beautifully done.
