    Spoiler:
I could maybe see him fully disintegrating the dog since he was emotionally distressed. Most kids seem to have quirks pop up while doing nothing. But next chapter if there's half a dog I'm gonna be horrified but impressed Horikoshi would do that. It's amazing how dark this story can get when the villains are focused on.

You know, I figured Nana gave up her son when was a baby. Not old enough to have memories of her and to comprehend that he was being abandoned.

Yeah that's pretty fucked up. I wonder how late she started doing the hero work. And which hero proceeded her to give her OFA. Cause there's a few things that make the choice of passing her OFA seem messed up. If she was given it after having her kid. Or if she had it prior and then was still not and to mostly get things under control like All Might eventually did...Then it really feels like a tragic waste for her. And then her family was still destroyed.

Welp, guess I was wrong about Shimura just needing to be able to be sad. I forgot the #1 rule of MHA: everybody wants to be a cat hero!

Anyways, excellent chapter. All it takes is one really bad day (and a lifetime of somewhat bad ones).

Don't hit your kids, or else they will develop disintegrating powers and destroy the rest of the family, including the dog.

Waited for the official version. Glad I did.

Shigaraki destroyed Re-Destro's attack, the game changed again! Destroying energy attacks has officially put him above Overhaul in terms of whose quirk is most dangerous.

I don't know where to begin with that flashback. The hero theory was true. Everything played out how I thought I'd go with some exceptions, one being Tenko's hair is black before his quirk manifested. So, no one knows if they have a mutant quirk until it activates, interesting. That man at the beginning had to be All For One. He must've done something, but he couldn't have given Tenko his quirk, he's been showing sign of it coming for a while back then. Hm.

Hana, you brat! No wonder you got the chop. And, as much as I dislike Kotaro, I still feel sorry for him. Those parts with Nana were heart breaking. He probably has no idea how dangerous the man Nana was trying to stop is. Even worse, from the sound of it, Nana knew All For One was closing in on her. That's probably another reason why she gave up Kotaro, because she needed to spend whatever time she had left training Toshinori. She was probably training him on that oil rig when AFO attacked.

You better explain why only their hands remain, Horikoshi. I'm calling shinangins from All For One because two extra pains of hands were given the Tenko (I would link to CCC's twitter post about it, but I haven't read Dr. Stone this week yet.). Probably either real or copies of Nana and her husband's hands.

I'm guessing she's had One For All for awhile and tried having a family too (wouldn't be surprised if most of the users got the quirk when young since it builds power over time). Unfortunately, AFO's a mega a-hole and went after her family.

--- Update From New Post Merge ---

My Hero Vigilantes 57 is out!

And the hits just keep on coming!

    Spoiler:
Now, this is what I first thought My Hero Vigilantes would be. Violence on top of violence. The Punisher Knuckleduster went off on No. 6. Sniper rifle, a shotgun, his boots, I half expected the guy to pull out a damn machete. I'm headcanning this is what Ragdoll would've become if the other Pussycats weren't there to support her.

No. 6 is rocking a healing quirk. Not regeneration tho, he needed to use Overclock for that. That was an interested aside to tell the audience. Wonder what that means for the artificial human project. There has to be a reason why it was scraped down the line. And, cute joke about the heroes being worried about the missing skinny guy (Toshinori).

It was sad for sure, but I wasn't like devastated or anything over it. Part of it is that the arc has already given us several super tragic flashbacks already, so it's just diminishing returns for me at this point. Actually what I most appreciated was that Horikoshi didn't make his dad too much of a cliche asshat and had him realize he fucked up after the fact. That and him wishing his mom hated him was very welcome nuance.

I mean in the sense that his life as a fabricated hell for the last 15 years. He was denied a chance to choose his own path, by his father, by AFO, by society post the incident.

I hope it's about pro heroes. The more removed from UA the more the series could do. From what little pro interaction we've seen and from Hori's hero profile pages, this could be amazing. My Hero Academia is slowly turning into the MCU.

I was listening to a My Hero Academia podcast and few of them didn't like the chapter because it showed child abuse. That's understandable, but it got me thinking how different Horikoshi and Oda writes backstories. While Hori goes for more realism and mental trauma, Oda goes for the gut punch, making sure they're as emotional as possible, but doing so in more fantastical ways (Young Luffy getting saved by a sea creature, Sanji starving on an island, Nami's mom getting killed by the guy who control her village, etc.).

Not saying one style is better, just throwing it out there.

How portraying child abuse as the bad thing it is wrong? Granted, I'm a third world asshole that thinks that there are valid reasons for spankings, and thinks that you guys abuse the word abuse, but this case is strong psychological abuse with a slap, the mother drew a line at the slap (the alergies torture seem more monstruous to me than the first slap ever), is not being glorified like in the last saiyuki, or portraying it neutral to positive like bellemere or Tom.

    Endeavor is still worse.

I think that's why so many annoying fans complain constantly are or overly harsh with Horikoshi's writing. He writes more realistic parents and trauma and too many fans can't separate their own experiences from the story.

He didn't write the child abuse as something glorious. He gave us reasons why Shiggy is the way he is. And it was sad and relatable for a lot of folks, minus the quirks and heroes thing.

Oda's tragic backstories are so fantastical and epic that you can still feel sad, but it's harder to put yourself in the character's shoes.

The people that jump at Horikoshi's throat I take their opinions with a grain of salt. It's probably the same people that thought Twice and the Skeptic Twice clones were trying to rape Toga after they found her in the shed. Or maybe the same fans who hate Horikoshi for trying to slowly give Endeavor and Bakugo any sort of character growth.

It's funny cause I haven't seen any energy put into hating Overhaul even though he was abusing Eri. Maybe cause that was more along an Oda type backstory.

I didn't heard the podcast, but I assume it's what I in my prejudice call "tumblr mentality".

People went so far deep on the "we must respect everyone stories" they got to a point showing anything that could cause discomfort to a person is seen as a bad thing even if the showing itself is meant to spread awareness and point out exactly how harmful that behavior can be.
In that vein, some people think showing child abuse is wrong because it may serve as a trigger for people who suffered it.

Back when tumblr had content and not only pornbots the Hori haters where basically acting word by word this way.

Im sure a victim of abuse would fell seen a depiction of abuse, but it would be more harmful to not show the consequences of said abuse to make society less lenient on that.

Or do what I do when I find racist and communist around, unsubscribe and ignore.

And remind them that endeavor will have a redemption arc, and that mineta is considered hilarious by the target audience, and that bakugo's bullying is being portrayed as a positive influence in deku.

I just saw some raws of the upcoming chapter. I knew it will be a heartbreaking chapter, but it is still something different if you see it. Probably the best backstory so far.
