Thread: The New Nintendo Thread™

So, The map had no hearts and no blue chests.

The Shops were all visited, including the on death one. Including the dungeon ones.

The minigames were completed, again, to get 20 rupees.

I visited all caves, again, with the tingle turner, and got diamonds and shit.

Unlocked some characters, to get the total to 4.

Saw the stupid video of a dude getting all the pieces, three times, and while he doesn't get the bombchu one, the count fits.

Unless I'm getting unlucky with the shops.

    Total heart count 16.

    3 free ones.
    4 from bosses.
2 from the "you died" shop.
That's 9 full ones, for 7 split, 28 heart pieces.

    Spoiler:
    From the video:
    2 in minigames
    4 in in-dungeon shops
    4 in in-dungeon
3 in shops (kakariko, gerudo and the opera guy outside dungeons)
    2 in timed chests
    1 in a cave
1 in the gerudo home with the piano
    11 in the overworld

Even tho I am certain that I didn't had that one screen with the island, and I seem to remember getting more than one from undergrond.

Are you sure you got both minigame ones? The requirement for both rewards is different. I think you can get rupees even before the second reward. For the shooting range I think you need a score of 20 for the 2nd reward.

I'll be ignoring the second reward. 20 is too much for me. I'm only after the heart pieces.

I thought I read that the reward order is random, so you can get the upgrade first. Maybe not. I suppose it's obvious whether you do or don't.

Oh I tots forgot to say how excited I was for the Nintendo reveals

pokemon looks awesome, pumped for a new Zelda game, I loved the first Luigi's mansion, I might get some games like hallow knight and other stuff.... but still waiting for Mario Odyssey 2 trailer

Honestly the only thing I have Zero desire to get is Mario & Sonic at the Olympics, nothing about that game interests me at all..... actually one thing does, because of the insane amount of characters from the Sonic Franchise (most of whom I hear are garbage) I am a bit curious to see who makes the cut.... But no way am I buying it

If the order is random, I for sure got the hearts, as I'm still at 10 and 5.

Meh it just seems like what the DS Lite was to the DS.

Seems a new Super Monkey Ball might be hiding somewhere.

Now if they would just do the opposite and release a better Switch...

Monkey Ball could be hype though. Especially if it supports gyro controls.

The DS Lite dramatically improved the brightness, battery life and form factor, all at the cost of a slightly more protruding GBA cart. This silly thing removes the rumble, IR, detachable controllers and docking ability, with the only perks being (up to) a half hour more battery life, a d-pad, and being a whopping $100 cheaper. If it was $150 like the DS used to be, it might be more understandable and a solid purchase for kids. But if someone can't spare $300, affording $200 doesn't seem that much more likely.

It's still much more of a reasonable offer for people who won't care about playing on their TV and just want the handheld option. All those perks that are gone don't matter to a lot of people who really just want to play games while... idk, going rock climbing? w.e. actual people do when they go outside.

Also, I personally know parents who will go for this as it dramatically reduces the amount of parts and things their children could possibly break. It will be easier to toss this at a young child and be sure it will be fine, compared to a more expensive switch with removable parts. Any unedicated parent on the fence when it comes to getting their kids a switch will be psyched for this.

In my case, I don't own a TV and don't need one given my current living situation, so something like this was exactly what I was waiting for before taking the plunge. I wouldn't carry this thing around in my pocket (bag at most) but getting the portability without the extra paraphernalia that comes with the OG Switch is pretty liberating for me and I have small hands so the form factor's perfect.

I don't think I'll be taking it on camping trips to the Japanese mountains, though. Or outer space for that matter, haha.

But what else is there to do in space?

Build and use giant robots, build colonies (which you can drop on planets), build and fire giant laser cannons, have monstrous alien creatures implant their spawn in you.....you know the usual.

They need to start putting remakes of their GC-exclusives on the Switch if they're not going to give the Switch the same Virtual Console as the Wii and Wii U had.
