Thread: General Square Enix Thread II

Locke is cool. But we're still missing characters from the old roster so....

Also, the 3 v 3 gameplay is awful, just like in Gundam versus, and ruins the game. (Along with the dumbing down of the battle mechanics and customization in order to balance having teams of three.)

Maybe it works in arcades but its awful for a single player home game.

Just like the 45th aniversary jump game that is inferior in every way to Jump Ultimate Stars (snip that rant here and focus on gameplay)

Having the main mechanic of a single player experience with 2 other AI players is just unapealing, double that if it's a fighting game.

Like let's say Wow or diablo where you sometimes get an AI companion, or you can play a mook-based character and have your very simple minions wail on an enemy or heal you (but both is a bad idea unless you have the FFXII gambit system to program them to your needs), but there is a reason why that isn't done in a fighting game, where presicion and reading your opponent is the key ability. The AI is either too dumb and you are just reacting to a stage hazzard, or too random and can't even feel it's rythm.

    Hell of a paradox.
