Seeing the realistic skull instead of the cartoonish one we are so use to weirds me out a little haha

Edit: someone just pointed out to me that it looks weird when the bones aren't behind the O and they are right

I like it. Was actually wondering when we'd get more news on this last night. Hope we get cast announcements soon.

Cool logo design. It's definitely similar to the original while doing its own thing.

Maybe we'll get more news later this month.

Ohh, I'm blocked? I don't remember ever replying to a tweet of Greg's, I wonder if it's triggered by anyone else who I've followed.

I like the logo. Also I'm fine with the first episode being called Romance Dawn.

All the Straw Hat character pages should default to the live action for main images.

I still can't support a live-action One Piece. The logo doesn't do anything for me either.

The story behind how the logo came about is pretty swell. Lotta thought went into it and it made many people happy.

I really didn’t expect the katakana on the logo. It feels respectful.

It won't be what we're used to, obviously, but I'm not going to dismiss anything out of hand just because of the medium.

New flavor of the old thing could be a lot of fun. ANd its not going to take away what we already have.

Generally live action adaptations of things aren't great, but there's been a few that have completely nailed it (Battle Angel Alita comes to mind) so I'm not opposed on just principle.

If its got folks that are actually fans of the material and not just doing a low budget cash grab like the Dragonball movie was where the writer hadn't even seen the series, we could get something good.

Like, the *Japanese* live action Death Note was fantastic, and actually had a better ending than the manga. The *English* live action Death Note was a joke because they made changes just to make changes. It isn't about the medium.

Also, whatever your feelings on the current Star Trek shows, they're proof that tv shows can look movie quality if you throw enough budget at them.

Should we expect important changes to the main story? I can hardly see a reproposition of the same story millions of people already know

I'm going at this with an open mind. One Piece is the kind of show that will be reaaaaally hard to translate to live-action, since it's so zany, there are so many crazy character designs and powers etc. But I would love a really good live-action adaptation. The fact that the showrunner is a huge fan of the manga is a big plus in my book.

Anyway it's been a while that I thought about how I'd like the seasons of the show to go, on the pre-condition that they'll be pretty faithful to the original story, that each season would have 10 episodes and that they will actually be successful enough to be able to cover the whole story and produce multiple seasons...we'll see how it goes. Well, seeing the new logo prompted me to think about it once more, so here's how I would split up the seasons:

Season 1 and 2 are pretty easy, all things considered. The first season would cover the East Blue saga and the second one the Alabasta saga, duh. I think you can cover the Romance Dawn arc, the Buggy arc and Kuro arc in 1 episode each, maybe 1 1/2 for the latter. You'd have to cut some corners here and there, of course, but the early arcs are all rather simplistic in terms of plot. It's mostly small adventures that serve to introduce the main characters and to slowly form the core group of the Strawhat pirates. Baratie arc and Arlong Park arc are a tad more complex, especially the later, so maybe 2 episodes for Baratie and around 3 for Arlong, which brings us to roundabout 9 episodes. The final episode of Season 1 would cover the Loguetown arc, of course, and end with the core crew finally entering the Grand Line and making their vow.

Season 2 fits pretty well, too. 1 episode for Laboon and Whiskey Peak, 1-2 episodes for Little Garden, 2-2 1/2 episodes for Drum Island and Choppers introduction. The second half of the season would then cover the Alabasta arc. 4-5 episodes seem like a perfect fit for the arc. You could end the season with the Strawhats saying goodbye to Vivi and discovering Robin onboard.

Season 3 is where it gets a bit more difficult. Skypiea is probably the easiest big arc to skip with regard to the overall story, but it's way too awesome and iconic to skip at the same time. It's such an amazing arc in terms of worldbuilding and sense of adventure, and who'd want to rob the live-action version of God Enel? No way. But at the same, I think using the whole season to cover this saga would be a mistake though, so I'd trim some of the fat (because the arc does drag on in some places) and spend only the first half of the season on it. The first episodeof the season, maybe the first 1-1 1/2 episodes, would cover the Jaya arc of course, which makes for an awesome season opener introducing important characters like Doflamingo, Whitebeard and Blackbeard and showing us characters like Shanks, Ace and Mihawk, too. The next 5 episodes would then cover the Skypiea arc, bringing us to around episode 6 of the season.

I would skip the Davy Back Fight arc, as much as it breaks my heart, because it's just a little too silly and inconsequential for live-action imo, but not the meeting with Aokiji of course (which can happen on any random island, honestly). The rest of the season can serve to cover the Water 7 arc - around 4 episodes should work well, leading to a quickly escalating plot and a big cliffhanger for Season 3, with Robin and Usopp both having left the crew and being taken to Enies Lobby on the Sea Train.

Season 4 would then start with the Enies Lobby arc, which honestly doesn't need that many episodes. Skip most of the Sea train battle and some of the details of the Franky Family and the Galeera guys battling the soldiers of Enies Lobby, and you can have Luffy declaring war on the World Goverment at the end of episode 2 and Merrys funeral at the end of episode 4 or the beginning of episode 5. Episode 5 will then be a pretty big episode, and mostly cover the Post-Enies Lobby arc. The rest of the season is a bit difficult. Ideally it should cover both the Thriller Bark arc and the Sabaody arc, because the crew being separated would be the best season cliffhanger ever. It might be difficult to cover all of the plot in only 5 episodes. I think you can fit Thriller Bark in around 4 episodes, maaaaaybe 3 1/2? Skip Duval and then you have 1-1 1/2 episodes for the Sabaody arc, which does mostly consist of world building and character introductions until the fight at the end. It's doable, I think.

Season 5 is easy again, it can easily cover the Marineford saga. 3-5 episodes for Amazon Lilly and Impel Down, the rest of the season for the big battle of Marineford. The last episode can cover the Post-Marineford arc, including Luffys flashback and then end with the timeskip, which makes for a perfect season ending once again.

I haven't given as much thought to Post-TS One Piece, but I guess Season 6 would cover Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island and Punk Hazard, Season 7 would cover Dressrosa, Season 8 Zou and Whole Cake Island and Season 9 Wano.
