Britain is most likely leaving the EU now. What are your thoughts?

    I feel cautiously optimistic.

There was a choice to be made, and for better or worse we'll see where this leads.
I was very conflicted in the build up, and I changed allegiances very often as I heard escalatingly convincing arguments from either side.

I eventually decided that "if you're uncertain as a voter, don't take the bigger risk" and voted remain.
I won't begrudge the result though, and we'll just have to see where this goes.

I live in a working class area full of young people, and interestingly some of my best friends and their families voted Leave, including the family that own our local pub.

I am fucking livid and have cried more than once this morning already.
I'm too stressed by this bull to compose myself properly.
A little over half the country - mainly racists and old folks - voted us out whilst the other half (not even a full 2% less) voted to remain, and yet we all have to suffer this leaving bullshit, AND the GBP is already plummeting to the point we're no longer the 5th most economical.
    WE. ARE. FUCKED.

I honestly think it's a bit cartoonish that some people are so quick to fall to the ground and say we're doomed.
And this is coming from someone who also voted Remain.

I heard a lot of convincing arguments in the build up for both sides,
so now we just have to hope that a lot of the positives mentioned by the Leave campaign will actually happen.

Say hello to Boris fucking Johnson as Prime Minister.

That alone, never-mind all the other consequences of this insane result is absolutely terrifying.

Most of the Leave campaign arguments ended up being fabricated or bizarrely thrown out of proportion.
We are literally losing so much, especially if Cameron is stepping down and has apparently been in talks with Boris.
Don't you dare word things like I don't have the right to be upset about this.

Also you know it's a bad choice when Donald Trump says it's a good thing.

Back your bus up and take a chill pill.
I didn't word anything like anything. No one said you have no right.

I merely expressed faith in this turning out alright.
And you have the right to disagree, such is free speech. :)

The wording of it. It made it sound like it was a 'ridiculous notion' to have such a reaction, equal almost to being 'so dumb you have no right'.
I'm going anyway so let's end this now and not continue this because I am in no mood for this.

Ah, I see. Well, that was not the intention.

I was only expressing that I feel like it's too premature to be making extreme calls right away, which is merely my opinion.
I assure you, you just took my words in the worst possible way. Possibly because this has been an emotional time for you.
It's ok, I understand that. No hard feelings.

    Honestly, who even is?

He's like an anomaly. He's just.... there... existing.
Saying stupid things and acting like he's drinking lots of Red Bull.

Silver linings: turnout was high. The EU might actually undergo much needed radical reform in response, to avoid falling apart.

But I think most of my optimism died this morning. Along with the pound, apparently.

Not going to pretend I know all the ins and outs of both sides of the argument, but the fact that Scotland have been dragged into leaving is frustrating to say the least.

    Absolutely.

Second independence referendum is pretty much guaranteed now.

Certainly, or else it actually leaves the United States partly still in the EU
