I really have no idea where to share this information. I though maybe it was crazy enough for its own thread, but its probably not THAT crazy...

I thought this was a joke but...

Today was the day that humanitarian aid would enter Venezuela. What happened? The goverment burnt it, the truck from Colombia and Brazil were burned, and the boat from Puerto Rico was "disuaded" to enter by the navy.

They claimed that the aid was unwanted, as there is no war in Ba sing tze, no one needs emergency rations, or medicine
They claimed that the aid was unnecesary, that the venezuelan people would not beg.
They claimed that the aid was poisoned.
They claimed that the aid was a lie, it was weapons and soldiers
Then they burned it. Accepting it would expose themselves as the liars and monsters they are, so they went more monstruous even.

Well, not the first time, around 20 years ago there were terrible rains that practically destroyed Vargas, a costal state, either a boat or some containers were sent with help, wich was left to rot in the docks, while these people had to depend on the goverment, beg or work under duress to adquire food.

Some food and medicine were rescued by volunteers, but it was already an small ammount to go to around 500k people.

If you want reasons on "why we can't negotiate with them", just search my name on this thread. Myself from the past will be glad to have been of use.

United Methodist Church on edge of breakup over LGBT stand

    https://www.apnews.com/91f0eff9b0c14e35a794101b3dc60166

The United Methodist Church teetered on the brink of breakup Monday after more than half the delegates at an international conference voted to maintain bans on same-sex weddings and ordination of gay clergy.

Their favored plan, if formally approved, could drive supporters of LGBT inclusion to leave America’s second-largest Protestant denomination.

A final vote on rival plans for the church’s future won’t come until Tuesday’s closing session, and the outcome remains uncertain. But the preliminary vote Monday showed that the Traditional Plan, which calls for keeping the LGBT bans and enforcing them more strictly, had the support of 56 percent of the more than 800 delegates attending the three-day conference in St. Louis.

The primary alternative proposal, called the One Church Plan, was rebuffed in a separate preliminary vote, getting only 47 percent support. Backed by a majority of the church’s Council of Bishops in hopes of avoiding a schism, it would leave decisions about same-sex marriage and ordination of LGBT clergy up to regional bodies and would remove language from the church’s law book asserting that “the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christian teaching.”

Monday’s voting did not kill the One Church Plan but makes its prospects on Tuesday far more difficult.

Sooo I heard Guaidó had to call for elections within the first 30 days, which haven't happened at all, how true or false is that?

False, the electoral timeline can't be accomplished until the usurper is removed, and even if Maduro says today "I quit, here's my list of minions" the electoral body is so broken and corrupt that it probably will take 3 months to get the elections ready with the cleanse of the suspect voters, the un-gerymandering, allowing expats to vote, etc.

That one month timeline was impossible from the start, and I can't say I remember seeing it reported.

Twittersphere update: I dunno if these people are media people, or just "starbuck commies" voicing their oppinions (meanign parroting the state propaganda) but they seem to have the impression that the average venezuelan is a native american in the middle of the amazon, who's biggest technological posession is a shirt. They claim it to be weird that whenever they speak about venezuelans we swarm to dare them to come and spend a while here, among other colorful tropical insults in perfect english.

Bitch please, we had to swarm twitter because our traditional media was taken over by the goverment 6 years ago, we know english because our entretainment was dominated by it, it was an obligatory subject during ALL school, and we kinda had to learn english to migrate, even if it was just to Colombia, tourism requires english.

And a swarm of 100 Venezuelans attacking your ignorance? that's my friend list! and I am a Hermit! A normal person would crush you, and influencer would vaporize you!

A foreign interview doesn't go as you plan? You take the interviewers hostage for 3-4 hours, take their equipment and phones, and get ready to deport them asap of course.

Next sets of excuses are "why there is food in the garbage, so wasteful the white rich", or "of course there is a crisis, the blockade is the cause":

1.- People don't chose to eat out of the garbage, Period. The existence of a portion of food there is meaningless compared to the need to search and eat it.
2.- If a 2-3 month blockade can destroy your capability of producing this badly, maybe your production model is shit? Honest answer, this isn't because of the blocade, this goes back to before I left, this is by design.

How a black man says he ‘outsmarted’ a neo-Nazi group and became their new leader

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md...ir-new-leader/

Without notifying his followers or even his inner circle, the longtime president of a legacy neo-Nazi group handed his organization to a black civil rights activist from California.

James Hart Stern, 54, is the new president of the National Socialist Movement, a group whose members wear uniforms reminiscent of those worn in Nazi Germany, celebrate Adolf Hitler and organize public rallies across the county.

Stern’s first move as president was to ask a Virginia judge to find the organization culpable of conspiring to commit violence at the deadly Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville in 2017. The group has been accused of wrongdoing in a lawsuit but had previously denied any responsibility.

Next, he plans to transform the hate group’s website, visited by millions of white supremacists each year, into a space for Holocaust history lessons.

“I did the hard and dangerous part,” Stern told The Washington Post. “As a black man, I took over a neo-Nazi group and outsmarted them.”
The whole article goes into more detail about how Stern pulled it all off.

With some of today's generation getting out of school much earlier than I was why not add this too.

18 hours blackout. Over 90% of Venezuela is in the dark, meaning our one good dam's power has been cut from the grid, only the island state Nueva Esparta, the rivers and jungle state Bolivar, and the oil and ports state Anzoátegui managed to hold on to their power because they are the ones with other power sources. But communication is still down.

Maduro was quick to declare it was sabotage, before anyone falls for this lie, the Venezuelan power grid has been in "emergency" for over 5 years, blackouts have been common for a long while, just not nation wide.

The grid was taken over during Chavez government and has received little to no maintenance or upgrades ever since. Electric experts have been warning about this failure for years. But the ones that said that it was fine are from the state party and were promoted and rewarded.

Is there really a lot of people who believes everything bad happening in Venezuela is because of "America's Imperialism"?

    You'd be surprised.

Current logic is "Trump is evil" so "anything that trumps wants is evil" and "trump wants to remove maduro from power" therefore "Maduro is good!".

Old logic is Chavez buying Danny Glover and Sean Penn (and others) so they parrot the state propaganda. Boots Riley and Roger Waters put their foot in their mouth this year, and AOC is dancing around the issue avoiding calling him a dictator, along with other Dems who parachute into the issue with "let's negotiate", like it hasn't been tried in the last 20 years.

Same thing in Spain, people send me propaganda articles with straight faces, or tell me that "USA only wants our oil", and what do you think that China and Russia want? A walk on the beach and some avocados? Or "you are mistaken over this fact of your country, clearly your life experience is biased".

And those are the ones that happened directly to ME, a fucking hermit. More extrovert compatriot expats find and fight these ideas far more frequently.

Honestly, I feel like my work friends wouldn't believe me if my story didn't line up perfectly with my former boss (also venezuelan), because it's the truth.

In about 5 hours the blackout will be 48 hours long. There were some areas in the city who had power for a while, but the comunication silence is maddening.
