Nah, it's not that big a deal but it is a good example of what not to do. Own it.

Btw, this is the first time France has closed its borders like this since WW2.

Muslim organizations around the world condeming the attack.

Most of the dead were from the attack on the concert.

Don't be ashamed. In an ideal world it would be nice if we could pinpoint nuke the entirety of ISIS, but alas...

Just checked in with all of my French friends to make sure they are okay, thankfully they are unharmed. Hoping all of the French members on these boards are safe and sound tonight as well. My thoughts go out to you and all of the innocent victims involved in this senseless act of barbarism.

Just saw this on another board.
    Spoiler:

The fuck is wrong with these people?

Really? That's tough to believe given the pseudo coup and abortive coup attempt that happened concurrent with the Algerian war.

Rome?? I don't think Italy is even involved in the Coalition attacks.

Unless they're doing that thing again where Rome = Istanbul.

"France pretty much had a roundabout coup'de'tat in 1958" and other things people just don't realize happened.

Oh, MSNBC is talking about Beirut Lebanon now and the suicide bombing that killed 45 people a day ago. ISIS claimed responsibility for that attack so the renewed media attention isn't a surprise.

I'm starting to wonder if the terrorists picked Friday the 13th specifically or if its a twisted coincidence.

It's just propaganda. They could have picked Berlin or Madrid, but went for Rome, they are part of the most know cities in Europe.

"And next we will go for Oslo!"
"What's that? Some English mutton pie?"

#PorteOuverte which means "Open Door" is trending in France right now. Basically strangers are offering their homes to people who are stranded after the attacks and can't get home or don't feel safe enough to travel home.

Yeah, I know some might think this can be dangerous and, yes, that's a possibility. Danger is a possibility for everything. What it definitely is though is it's showing the best of humanity and how amazing people can be when others try to show how ugly we can be.

If I were a Kurd in Iraq or Syria right now I would be feeling incredibly conflicting emotions of "Damn that really sucks, poor France" and "Oh hell yes we're going to get even stronger backing right now!"

Wow my sister literally has a plane ticket to Rome for tomorrow and a week later she was planned to go to Paris with her friend's family.

They probably just have strong feelings of solidarity without you know, the enthusiasm that their enemy killing a shot ton of other people means they get more things.

In fact they're probably just plain horrified like the rest of the world.

Good point. People engaged in a literal deathmatch with the worst thing since the Khmer Rogue, who have been calling for more aid for years, are definitely not going to notice that they're about to benefit tremendously from that enemy personally hurting a nuclear world power very much.

I'm with you on that take. I imagine feeling bad for France but just kind of grimly laughing and thinking "Those bastards just done fucked up."
