Now this is quite scary, a robot not programmed right can kill you
That's pretty much any tech though. As unfortunate as the story is, it says right there that it's likely to be caused by human error as well.

Things getting pretty crazy in Greece. People quite split on what the decision should be. Trying to read in more about this to get a better understanding about how this went down and what exactly the ramifications are for each decision. Besides reading news articles, anyone know any particular sites or articles that have some comprehensive information?

For something much more random, I feel a bit more validated in my dislike of house cats. Using their Urine to make Mice less likely to flee, making them easier prey. An interesting find to be sure, which I feel brings opportunity for some kind of horror movie or B-rated movie with giant cats having overtaken the world. Also explains why Tom has a hard time with Jerry.

I hope all the people cheering for Greece and their "true" democracy now won't be too shocked when Tsipras starts loaning money from Russia instead of EU countries.

It doesn't do you a lot of good to take that gas if cutting your wrists is a condition to get it.

Maybe they shouldn't have told the doctor they had a slight cough when they actually had stage 3 cancer back in 2009.

Perhaps the doctor shouldn't have given them untested medicine? That way the wouldn't have that cancerogenic stuff in their bods.
...I have no idea what's going on in Greece, I just wanted in on this fun allegory.

Well, what happens is simple. Greece has a very very fragile economic structure and they've been keeping a developed country lifestyle because they've been receiving EU money and borrowing from the markets. After joining the Euro, though, they no longer have control over their currency or other decisive instruments to keep this system afloat and their debt just kept piling. After the crisis of 2008 or whenever, this huge debt and the loss of market confidence made their interest rates skyrocket, which meant their debt also skyrocketed. The state had no way to sustain itself, so the troika (EC, BCE, IMF) intervened twice, imposing harsh austerity to keep the government's expenditure in check and return market confidence so that interest rates go back down and the debt starts to be paid. But those measures didn't have the intended result. The fragile Greek economy is in tatters, asphixiated by the heavy taxes imposed and crushed under a humongous debt which doesn't stop growing despite the austerity. Can you really blame the Hellenes for not wanting even MORE austerity measures after the resounding failure of the 2 previous bailouts? What the country needs right now is deep structural reforms, it need to reinvent itself, it needs investment, not more loans (although it needs loans to stay afloat meanwhile...).

There was never any legitimate reason to assume that austerity measures could reduce the debt in the first place though. Not only was there not any historical precedent for it to work, but the paper that most use to justify austerity measures only managed to get the numbers to work by selectively using data and fudging spreedsheets on top of that.

I can't even think about it longterm, i'm just wondering how the next few weeks are going to play out on a human level.

I mean aren't the stores going to be barren, with no deliveries in sight with the banks closed.

Not to mention medicine, power and transportation. How is any of that going to work when nobody has any money.

    Here something for you

but it goes even back before we enter the EU and stuff.

It even goes with corrupt politics and the people who got money and jobs from them to electem.

After the 2000 when we make it on EU with fake numbers they continued to take all the money from EU programs (politicians, media, rich people and stuff) and sometimes foreign companies and countries in their knowledge give more money (Siemens or USA to force us to buy useless things/military stuff)

    example (sorry not in english)

Other things that make this even worse is/was that with the EU we cant produce as many things we want (they even give money to burn what we produce) and they force us to buy from another countries

Edit: Here something more the big map is from Athens in green color is the Yes votes areas and is mostly where live politicians are very rich people

Subway fires long time spokesman Jared, the guy who lost 200 pounds eating Subway 16 years ago and moved them towards their entire "we're super healthy" platform.

He's been fired due to being under investigation. Apparently one of the employees in Jared's charity organization had some child pornography problems. No word yet if Jared himself is actually connected to anything, though his computers have been seized.

    Weird.
