I'm I the only one tired of these Bruce Jenner news? I have nothing against him and his decision to become an woman, so if he wants to become an woman then go for it. Why make it a big deal just because he's an former Olympics guy? If I wanted to become an woman; I'll rather keep it to myself rather then announce it to the world even if I'm super-popular. This has being going into my Facebook newsfeeds so many times now. Enough.

There are so many things wrong with your post, I don't even know where to start. But I'll say this: based on past interactions in this thread, you'd be wise to actually give an issue some thought/research and think about what you're about to say before saying it.

Woah man, I don't even know what I did wrong. However I did do research and tried my best not to come out sounding like an asshole. My point here is i'm tired of theses stuff about someone becoming a woman. I personally don't care about that yet if people were to get a sex-change they should do it private rather then "rub it on our face". I do understand he wanted money and run away from his past mistakes but is this necessary? I apologize if I missed the mark, I was only stating my view so if I did anything wrong; please tell me and I'll listen

Her coming out trans publicly wasn't to rub it in your face, and honestly it probably wasn't even meant to be all that interesting to YOU if you arent dealing with transgender issues. It was for those people who are trans and are struggling and probably feeling depressed or even suicidal to see this famous person coming out very publicly, knowing full well there's going to be a huge backlash from people who disagree and are actually quite angry and against the concept of transgendered people, and for them to see this and know that they aren't alone. The kids out there struggling with their families and loved ones coming to terms with who they are, they can see Caitlyn and think 'if she can do this, I can do this." and to draw strength from her.

If the story doesn't interest you, then that's fine but it's very important for other people. Best thing for you to do is just ignore it honestly. Go watch some anime or something.

I understand that there are trans people who are are struggling and I'm not saying that it's wrong. If it was meant to inspire people I can understand too. There are many people out there would disagree with that. But I respect trangendered people and I apologize if it sounded like I was being asshole, I was only expressing my opinion and the very fact that my Facebook newsfeeds basically rubs it on my face but I'm not against trangendered people.

That's surprising given your continued use of male pronouns to refer to her.

I'm sorry if seeing news about trans people existing is an inconvenience to you, we just want to live without being ridiculed and sometimes killed. Visibility helps that because it shows people we are normal everyday people just like everybody else. If we hide and don't educate anyone, then we will still be treated like a strange and odd thing which is very bad for us.

Like I said I apologize for coming out out this way and it's not about being bothered about trans people existing. It's about saying "I'm going to become a woman" over and over and over again. How about you just say it like one or two times and then take a break for a week and then say it again. I wish you people would understand what i'm saying here because it's like you guys are twisting everything I said around. I said I'm not bothered by transgender people and becoming what they think will make them find happiness. So Caitlyn is a woman, good for her. There are other people who would say it a lot worst then I do. There is nothing wrong with what Caitlyn is now, is the the fact that I had to be told over millions of times is bothersome. Do you you now understand what I was trying to say here? I'll say it again; it's not about the transgender people and them finding happiness, about the fact of how the media basically grabs my coller and said "Caitlyn is a woman!!!" Over a millions of times. My first reaction was "Ok, good; congratulations".

So now, did you understand my point

I think the problem here is you're approaching this from the angle of "how this affects me!" when this is not, in any way, about you.

This has absolutely nothing to do with you.

This does not affect or impact you in any real way: but to someone else, seeing this public figure come out - despite the risks!!! - may literally be the difference between life & death.
Caitlyn Jenner's public transition is a very hopeful moment for many people. This is about them. NONE of this is about you. So maybe keep your opinion to yourself.

It's kind of just irrelevant whining. And the problem is YOU keep saying "becoming a woman." I don't think you understand the issue at all and you should just leave it alone. Quit while you're behind. I'll leave further comment to people more qualified than me.

Expressing these opinion is hard to do in these fourms anyway. I'm dropping this and move to the next topic.

That's not a matter of respect it's a matter of not being used to it, the entire things a process and I doubt that people will ever be able to completely switch the way they've always referred to something/someone on a dime.
Never in my life have I ever held ill will towards any group of people, maybe it's because surprisingly my Great Grandmother was never transphobic or homophobic or racist so I was always like "it is what it is and doesn't effect me" but I like many other people sometimes slip up when I try to refer to the gender of a transgender individual which i've done a few times with Caitlyn and it's not a matter of ill will it's a matter of adjustment.
Now I'm not trying to tell you to go easy on transphobic people because I never have when in discussions with them but if someones earnestly trying to get it right I'd try to give them some leeway which is what I tend to do when talking to non black individuals on race related issues.
Though i'm positive that the climate is much much worse in many ways for transgender individuals like yourself so if I was in your position there's no telling how i'd react.
Not that you're reacting badly at all.

What a nutter. A legal nutter mind you, but a nutter nonetheless.

“You’ve got quite a few people afraid because calls are like just coming in left and right,” one officer says to Cooley.

“People’s fears are not my responsibility,” Cooley responds,
Not if you want them to vote Republican, because pseudo-crazy intimidation crap like this is exactly what's pushing the Millennials away.

I don't know what's nuttier the fact that this is Georgia allowing this and not Florida or Texas. Or the fact that he apparently considered suing the airport for something that the Georgia state police force would be responsible for and not the airport.

That logic about carrying the gun for safety tho.

I'll have to post something about the whole issue with the Arthur Ashe Courage Award because it's bothering me.

This isn't about the "most corageus" person, it's about the person who needs the courage the most. I don't think that athletes with amputations, or limited time to live have people going throguht the streets calling them names, or saying that they shouldn't be doing this because they are icky. There's no dispute about their courage, and there's nothing that needs more courage than facing death and keep on going.

That's the issue, these people are admired without any question, people can understand things that could happen to them, facing death, or losing an arm or a leg, but they can't put themselves on the skin of a person who wants to change their gender.

So that's why this get this much publicity and media buzz, because this is the message that needs to spread right now.

Why do it in the streets when you can leave an anonymous letter. Or on social media.

    Something (somewhat) different I suppose.

If Caitlyn Jenner was a low-level Olympian and not the greatest athlete in the world when she won the gold and was on the biggest "reality" show in the past ten years (more this than the former) ESPN would have never even bothered giving the award to her and you know it. This is mostly ESPN trying to get brownie points and publicity for themselves and not for the issue of transgender rights.

Now, I congratulate Caitlyn on finally not being afraid who she really is from the world. I grew up seeing friend of my mom transitioning to a female when she was close to 40 and I saw just how hard it was for her to be accepted by some of her friends and on a couple of occasions she was attacked (one of the occasions happened on my back porch when a mutual friend of my mom and said friend attacked her with a brick). She eventually through completely cutting out those who weren't supportive and making friends who liked her for who she was was able to feel completely comfortable as a woman and I hope Jenner can do the same.

If you are gonna shoot, shoot. Don't talk
