soo....the season finale aired on Monday. Guess that'll be it for Rick & Morty for a while.

    Spoiler:

What a season ender haha. I never thought one could mourn the loss of Lincoln and Hitler's combination, but hey......loved the ending montage.

Still, I have to say how much this show surprised me. Like from the commericals and stuff it was clear this was going to be a crude, Back to the Future-esque parody with wacky science hijinxs. First episode didn't leave a strong impression, but the most part, every episode afterward did. Not just joke-wise, but character interactions and those moments of....well, deepness.

*scratches head* Eh, sorry for rambling. Show's creative, funny, and not afraid to try different things. Can't wait for season two.

Yeah, I kind of wish they'd held the pilot episode and just aired it between seasons. It was far and away the weakest episode, and not the best first impression. (And constantly rerunning the first... 3? didn't help either.) The show was pretty strong throughout, surprisingly so.

What most got me is that they held onto the fact they were in an alternate universe that they started from and Morty thought about his dead alter self buried in the yard every morning. That's when the show truly won me over... when the same thing is something Futurama did as a throwaway gag but never mentioned again. And the growth of the family so quickly.

    Looking forward to season 2.

Yep, stuff like that. I also really like how the show began to gradually involve Summer, Jerry, and Beth into situations....not just their own family subplot, but sometimes pertaining to Rick and Morty('s adventures)

like when Jerry and Morty went to Pluto, for instance. Jerry gets all cocky and lets the power get to his head, but Morty sticks up for him, he gains perspective....neat father-son moment at the end...

Believe it or not that's a word that's not inherently dirty in Japanese at least as far as I knew.

I'm pondering what kind of pain Rick may be in. It could be something to do with his wife, or maybe he's dying. I'm guessing the earlier because there are some subtle hints of Rick's past life. Can't wait for Season 2 tho. This show exceeded my initial love for it by thousand folds. Was really expecting it Rick's relationship with Morty to be more abusive in a bizzare "we are always together forever friendship" sort of way, but damn. Wasn't expecting this much subtle layers to them.

My favorite moments has to be whenever Rick shows that he isn't a complete asshole, but I just love Rick. Flaws and everything in the whole damned package

I read on Reddit that Rick's voice is just Justin's impression of a drunk Dan Harmon. Which is great, because Rick kept reminding me of Dan so much, it was throwing me off.

We interviewed the animation director at Rick and Morty, and he's a huge One Piece fan. He talked with us about the popularity of One Piece in the American animation industry and his work on the show: http://onepiecepodcast.com/podcast-e...-bryan-newton/

New episodes were announced for probably summer of next year(or just next year), so we gots lots of time to wait.
On this subject, I'm really surprised how popular this show got. To think I was following it along with other fans that wanted others to watch the show before it became "a thing".

Byran Newton sounded like a really morbidly fun dude(I'm a morbid person, so I like morbid people), and he was a great guest in the manga recap. You guys should definitely try to have him on as a reoccurring special guest. Reminds me that I need to buy the DVD or BR for the commentary. It was nice getting some background behind the making of certian scenes, especially that one during the chase sequence in the first episode and the origins of Rick's flask.

We'll hopefully have him on as a recurring guest in 2015! We had way too much fun recording with him, so we definitely wouldn't want it to be a one time thing. We're all huge fans of Rick and Morty, so it was a surreal experience. Bryan's also on the Meeseeks and Rixty Minutes commentary (and the special 'featurette') on the BR/DVD. I've watched that set at least ten times now, it's definitely worth picking up.

First two eps if you really need to see them now.

Of course it'll mean a longer wait till the next new one....

I kinda enjoy this series. The first episode was pretty meh but got better along the way.

Apparently the first two episode of season 2 got leaked out...probably would get taken down sooner or later.

    Saw the leaked eps:

    Spoiler:
I have to say, that scene in the second ep where Fart drives the gearman to suicide, ending in the mass deaths, set to melancholy music, I think that is just one of the most perfectly Rick and Morty scenes and I love it. It's just such great embodiment of the nihilistic sci-fi at the heart of the show.

Both eps were terrific, but that scene was a standout to me.

Didn't see the leaks so I caught episode 1 of the new season today:
    Spoiler:
Aww man, you just have to love the strong continuity of this show. It literally begins with time about to unfreeze from the massive party last season. Then something screws up and time becomes uncertain. I found this plotline to be extremely fascinating, and of course things only got worse before they were fixed.

I mean the scene where Rick gave Morty his collar to escape the collapsing timescapes.....it was akin to him shooting the Jellybean King; for all of the gruff he gives to Morty, deep down, he really loves his grandson (and granddaughter)

Beth and Jerry's plot was pretty great too ("don't you need give a kitchen a manicure???") Got a craving for ColdStone now.
