The sudden deus ex machina type situation with a retcon reminds me of ME3, inb4 obito "Assuming direct control" and the epilogue is a grandfather telling a story to his grandchild, "Tell me more about the Naruto".

I can see only one possibly positive thing out of this entire 10 Tails thing: At least it wasn't a rabbit.

Looks like Kishimoto watched Tree of Might recently.
    Complicating things since 2009.

So the Juubi is really a tree? And a tree will do what a tree does, produce fruit, right? So there's no chance that the fruit will grow from this tree and that Naruto will eat it and become the re-incarnation basically of the sage of the 50 paths? No... Impossible... What I don't get is why Obito is not connected to the tree itself. Shouldn't he be? It's like the Juubi-Tree is a summon rather than something sealed within himself. What else? Oh, can't wait for the Kages to appear and do, what exactly? *Flushes toilet*
How much can you do? Just grab a ball and juggle.
All those balls in the air, How hard can it be?
    So hard you're getting dizzy!
Keep those balls in the air, Keep those balls in the ai-air!

So this fruit may have even come from a devil of some kind?

    A tree of life
    A super demon/monster/God
A magical fruit on a tree
A ruler taking a Godly boon and ending war
A Holy King born with the power of Gods
A Sage teaching people the true path

Wow, Kishi basically took a bunch of religious creation myths and shoved them together - topping it off with ninjas.

It's okay to take inspiration and do references to and have the foundation of your setting stem from the ancient religious or other myth.

As long as you do it before reaching chapter 646 and do not have it look as a giant dong.

Twist: Kishi has been writing such random bullshit on purpose because Naruto chapters have been in super-hypnosis-moon-world since the timeskip

I wish Kishi's fights were half as cool as they are in his video games

Does that game seriously have like 5 selectible Narutos/Sasukes?

Also, Ino couldn't look more harmless if she tried.

How do people keep charging more of that forbidden apple juice unless everyone's a descendant of the sage of six paths?

Could you imagine if Sasuke actually came back to being a good guy after finding out about Itachi? I would have actually liked that. From that point on he could've been a dude on the good guys side who worked to gain back the trust of the Leaf but with an awareness that other characters didn't have and the subtle internal battle of going back to bad guys' side.

Here's my problem with Obito: He only seems to care about the moon's eye plan in so much as it affects him directly, since he clearly doesn't care about killing everyone else to achieve it. But if that's all he wants, going through with the plan is pointless since he could just use his sharingan and stare in a mirror to create roughly the same effect. There's absolutely no need for him to force his desire on the rest of the world as well, and it'd be much easier for him if he didn't. At least with real Madara, he's doing it out of some misguided sense of right and wrong where he truly thinks it's the best possible world for everyone, and thus it'd be a Needs of the many thing. But obito doesn't seem to care about any of that, so what's the point of it for him?
