Like him or hate him, he really gets into a role to the point that it's crazy. Like in MI4, it's actually him scaling the Dubai building. Not even a stunt double or anything.

This is of course only refering to his acting career. Just like with Mel Gibson i leave his private problems out it.

Also throwing in Silent Hill, Treasure Planet and Wild Wild West. I enjoyed all of them, I haven't seen WWW in a long time but still remember it well.

This is a well loved film as far as I know.

The only people who don't like Tom Cruise, as an actor, are people who haven't seen Magnolia.

    **Death Race**

After this scene, I became a Tom Cruise fan for life. That wasn't even his best scene in the movie. His best scene was when he was dancing:)

It really took me a while to think of anything but, I finally got some:

    1. The Rock: "Micheal Bay sucks..." etc etc. Most of the time I'd agree, but there's something about this movie that's just really good. Yeah I know the "green smoke" scene probably made people bust out with laughter first time they saw it, and there's probably other "retarded" things in the movie, but there's also A LOT to love in it too. The action was often boss, most actors and characters were as well and, I don't know, a lot of the "cheesy" dialogue worked for me. I'd give examples but that'd take too much space.

    2. The "Pirates of the Carribean" movies: Well, the first one most people loved, so no problem there. But the sequels? ...got a lot of hate didn't they?
I personally think they're wonderful movies. In the "unpretentious fun summer flicks" category that is.
I hate Elizabeth and Will as much as anyone else, but the rest of the cast/characters are cool.
And I LOVE Geoffrey Rush/Barbossa. Davy Jones as well.
Plus, the big-budget-ness of the movies made for some beautiful imagery.

Wait, Treasure Planet is hated by many people? I never though of that. I... absolutely adore that movie.

Treasure Planet wasn't bad, certainly a departure from your typical Disney movie. Character could've been portrayed better. But I loved it just for the steampunk setting.

Atlantis The Lost Empire: I just thought it was a good adventure flick. Some sterotypical characters sure (then again this is Disney after all) but I can forgive it just for the journey to the city being entertaining. Climax wasn't bad either.

I actually like Cars. The first one for it slice of life approach. No villain (I don't really consider Chick Hicks one, more like a arrogant rival) and no overall threat. Just a good character arc with some nice jokes in between. Help that it had some good visuals too. Part 2 was a good adventure flick though it did feel a little forced at time, but the worst Pixar movie? Hardly.

Pirates of the Carribeans? The second being my favorite and the first is a very well told pirate movie. The third was pretty good cause hey, unlike the fourth movie, least stuff was going on in it and it kept me interested. Only flaw was yeah, bit too many characters running around with some that don't even matter in the long run. But I'll gladly watch it whenever I get the chance.

Transformers Mmm 1 and 3 as they at least focus on the robots alongside the humans (I was actually disappointed most of the human characters from the first movie never showed up again.)

Intolerable Cruelty is a better film than than people usually give it credit for. It made me believe that the Coen brothers could not make a truly bad film...then I watched The Ladykillers.

Also, The Producers (05') is one of my favorite musicals.

    read.

I really liked the 2005 The Producers and was shocked to learn it was panned. Then again I never saw the original.

I also quite enjoyed Grown-Ups. It was one of the better Adam Sandler movies, up there with Happy Gilmore and Little Nicky. It caught me off guard how much heart it had.

I don't think that Treasure Planet and Atlantis are really "hated" movies, but they did do pretty bad at the box office, and I'm not aware of The Rock being hated, if anything that's one of Michael Bay's better movies (though I think having Sean Connery in there was a nice addition).
