Thread: Watch_Dogs

The game has grown on me a bit. I've gotten better at driving and other stuff, so there is less frustration. I'm really in to taking on gang hideouts. A couple of them are actually kind of challenging. If you screw up and they call for back-up, and the cops get called on you, things can get pretty chaotic.

Question for you veteran gamers out there: I'm pretty clueless on DLC. I never bought DLC for a single game for my XBox 360, and I just got a PS4(my first Sony console ever). Are these "Season Pass" things worth it? Should I buy the Watch Dogs season pass? The way I understand things, if you buy the season pass, you get any and all DLC content they release in the future, and that's great if they release a bunch of cool DLC, but what's stopping them from releasing like one dinky extra mission that isn't worth the $20?

Well, Gta V's multiplayer was cruddy. But to its credit, the free roam mode had far more to do that Watch Dogs free roam. That's a snooze fest

@Big Luffy. A lot of retail stores, like Gamestop, will push the season pass on you when you first buy the game. My advice is to play the heck out of the game and if you really like it, get the season pass or extra content.

As for the content being low quality... that can happen. And it's happened with Ubisoft. Lots of the store exclusive pre-order dlc is usually sub par or underwhelming. They'll save the more meaty content for future installments in the months after the game release.

Why would Gang members call the police to their own hideouts (which are probably full of illegal activity/goods)? Unless the cops they call are corrupt and won't arrest them all the moment they get there.

*Checks out the Season Pass for Watch_Dogs*

I would definitely say No, their Season Pass doesn't really have enough incentive and interesting content to be worth the extra money. If you want, you could wait as each individual DLC is released, and then simply cherry-pick which of those DLC you favor best and just purchase that one.

And just as aside, if you also have Batman: Arkham Origins, their Season Pass was worth it, in my own opinion.

Definitely no guarantees for the quality of the DLC releases, so if you're worried about that, or just not sure in general if the season pass will be worth your money, I'd recommend just waiting until the extra content is released and seeing how you feel about it then. Maybe read some reviews & watch gameplay videos of the DLC and if it seems cool, get the pass or, like Rogue suggested, cherry-pick the content that you'd like to have. And who knows, you may not even still be interested in the game by then. It happens.

    a mood come alive.

A citizen called the cops on me for shooting one of the gang members, and when the cops showed up, they had a huge shootout with the gang. I tried to take advantage of the situation and sneak over to the target I had to knock out, but I ended up getting caught in the crossfire.

Thanks for the Season Pass advice everyone ;)

    Replaced controller.

Camera issue has not come up again.

Story is getting more interesting. Kinda wish they would have gone even more serious. They should have made Aiden darker.

Haven't yet played the game myself, but from the trailers I've seen, I have a question about the story if anyone can answer it.

    Spoiler:
So Aiden wants to get revenge for the death of his niece, who was murdered when Aiden accessed information he wasn't supposed to see. But does the story mention what happened to the girl's parents? Were they killed as well? Where were they when the murder happened?

The girl's mother and brother are still alive and Aiden visits them a little bit after the beginning of the game.

What is the purpose of the online free roam in this game? As far as I can tell, you can't kill other players, and the only thing to do is cause havoc. Plus, it seems like the police AI is drastically dumbed down because it is a lot easier to get away from them in the online free roam than it is in the single player missions.

Online free roam is a complete ghost town and not fun... no missions... just.... well... fucking around...

..hell GTA V's online free roam is leaps and bounds more interesting than this, and that's kinda saying something!

    ...Decryption is kinda sucky too...

The 1v1 player hacking and tailing is actually a blast if yer into it. Works pretty well too!

A bunch of files detailing effects for the game from the E3 build of the game have been found in the released game's files. Some guy made a tweak to enable them. It's not too large of a leap at the moment but it does so far enable car headlights to cast shadows and for more elaborate lighting on raindrops. It does seem to improve performance, especially more or less eliminate stuttering too. So it seems Ubisoft purposely disabled these effects for some reason. I think lots of people (both normal people and people running journalism sites) are waiting for Ubisoft to say something about this. Here's the page where you can download it if anyone here has the PC version: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=390114

Nice. Well, just like GTA. I wanna see what the PC community can do with a game like this.

It's not the PC community doing anything except enabling features in the game disabled by Ubisoft.

Beat the game last night. Solid game. The second half of the game is much shorter than the first half but it is also stronger, it has several missteps but definitely a solid ending act.
    Spoiler:
I loved how in the end the city, your greatest weapon, is turned against you and it's complete madness. I knew that would happen, but it was still cool when it did. I hated Clara's death tho, on top of liking her the entire death was pointless and SUPER forced. So who actually shot Maurice? I was conflicted but ultimately walked. I mean everyone else involved died except him and Aiden himself... but usually when a game gives me a choice between life and death and I actually hesitate, I choose life.

Ubisoft: "News Flash: sometimes higher end graphics put more of a drain on system resources than others. We'll bring less news to modders as the story breaks."
