I think its flamable so it is quite dangerous when mixed with air.

And I'll just quote this one from a site to help you out

High concentrations of this gas can cause an oxygen-deficient environment. Individuals breathing such an atmosphere may experience symptoms which include headaches, ringing in ears, dizziness, drowsiness, unconsciousness, nausea, vomiting and depression of all the senses. The skin of a victim may have a blue color. Under some circumstances, death may occur. Hydrogen is not expected to cause mutagenicity, embryotoxicity, teratogenicity or reproductive toxicity. Pre-existing respiratory conditions may be aggravated by overexposure to hydrogen.

Damn, I hope Hiro is okay. So far we know Oda, Kubo and Kishimoto are safe. And for any other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, Takahashi is safe. Many well-known seiyuus are reported safe as well.

And this nuclear leakage threat is only adding to the stress of this situation for those present. It's like a gigantic domino effect. Again, the irony of the things we invent that backfire on us.

EDIT: What's nuts is people in Japan are still surfing and on the beach the day after a goddamn 30 foot tsunami.

Yes, of course, but the further out it spreads the less intense it gets.

Mother nature is being pretty ruthless in the last month or so first the queensland floods along with cyclone yasi, then christchurch earthquake now the 5th largest earthquake in the history in japan.

I can't begin to fathom how the people who just went through the horrifying disasters recently will feel what they are witnessing right now.

My friend told me some people are thinking to go to the south side due to the supposed meltdown. But it is still unclear what the real situation is, just some bits and speculations of what could have happened. I'm hoping there will be no disaster.

Otherwise our media told us that Japans news disabled the wind data on weather news.

My prayers go to the ones, who still couldn't manage to contact their loved ones.

It's true. I heard it from CNN as their reporters have been observing. It's true stupidity.

Actually, I made a typo. I think that was referring to other areas like California and Chile and Hawaii that are also at risk. Obviously no one in Japan will be surfing now.

You have the info a bit mixed up.

It's Japan's largest ever recorded earthquake. And it's the fifth largest earthquake ever recorded in the entire world. Which makes me wonder what the other four higher ones were and where they happened...

What's interesting is that these all happened roughly within a 20-year span of time.

Well you have to consider the technology involved in measuring them.

Now days perhaps they would all get a different number and if you look at the epicenters none of them was in nearly as populated area as Sendai.

If 9,0 would happen in some other country other than Japan with as dense population but lacking the technology and safety measures they have.

I think 1,000,000+ casulties is not exagerating

That's what happened in heiti last year. The measurement was 7.0 but the death toll was more than 300 or 400 thousand.

Kubo has been listed on the site for quite some time too.

What the hell is Fukushima having a reactor meltdown? This could lead to tragedy greater than impact of initial earthquake and tsunami.

They said it was possibly an explotion of the hydrogen they use to cool it off.

Not sure if the two are conected directly.

Oh and just checked MS, all their guys in Japan are accounted for it seems.

    update from http://www.abc.net.au/news/

Hourly radiation at Japan nuclear plant matches allowable annual dose, says Kyodo.
Japan's Meteorological Agency says Fukushima prefecture (which is where the nuclear plant explosion happened) is at high risk of another major tsunami.

Media here said that if it actually was a hydrogen explosion, a reactor meltdown would be almost inevitable. ;/
I see the radius has been increased.
What's that about another tsunami? Another quake?
