Alright it has been a couple weeks since we posted. Been working on the Zidane daggers a little more. Got a lot done on them, yay! Hoping to have them completely done by the end of this month.

Chris finished up the Kamakiri spear tonight. I can't wait until Coralsnake gets to see it in person! I know she'll love it! Pictures really don't do it justice. Or at least our pictures don't. We have horrible lighting.
The spear head is all wood and painted with a textured metallic spray paint. THe texturing looks really cool irl. The wrap was just red leather we had laying around.

@coralsnake: ahahaha the design was one I found online. I just died when I saw it cause it was so cute! Ugh! I need to get cracking and at least finish my stuff for my Pandora Hearts cosplay as that is a group. Plus I should style my Juvia wig since I am doing a FT panel and running the photoshoot....soooo lazy.
@Areebee: Hahaha thank you! I couldn't quite do the wing shape that the sleeves on the design are. So I just used sleeves off of a snuggie for the sleeve pattern.
TRUTH: The dark blue hood part is material from a snuggie. fufufufu.

:3 Aokiji. We are planning on using this to make a mold and then cast it out of resin. Although we won't have time to do that before ACen. So we will probably just paint the sword white for ACen and then do the resin thing for Otakon.

I knew it! It looks great. Clear resin would be awesome, but is it really durable enough for such a large prop? I've only worked with it on a much smaller scale.

oh definitely! The other sword/daggers pictured are all made out of resin. Well the blades anyway are. And resin is very durable. But of course like most props, even those made out of wood, you wouldn't want to go banging it around against stuff. XD

Alright this will be my last update before ACen. But hubby finished the Zidane daggers. Can't wait to give them to the girl who commissioned them.
^ This is them mostly finished. We just needed to add the tassles/beads on one and then the wire and tassles/beads on the other.

also I can't deny... that that wig is AMAZING I hope you'll bring her to Otakon it's something I feel compelled to see in person *.*

Ok~ If it can get done by Acen next year, that'd be cool. I'm probably not going to be able to bust out the costume earlier then that XP
And did you take lots of epic pictures at Acen??? :D
