This arc was going to be the best since Golden Age(not that other arcs were of inferior qualities) and it is quite clear that Miura prepared for it for a long time.Whether Berserk continues or not,it will always hurt............

What a chapter. Like every Berserk chapter, the art was gorgeous. Still cannot believe we will never see new drawings/chapters by Miura. May he rest is peace

As I expected, the last chapter shows to me it' s great thing Berserk ends while maintaining it's greatness. Drawing in terms of quality seem no different from what I'd expect from usual, but everything beyond that surface seems to fall apart to me. It's just a shell without the spirit.

I couldn’t disagree more, the levity of the elf island has been so therapeutic, both for the characters and for me, as a reader. It’s tragic that the author won’t have the chance to finish his story, but this was a wonderful chapter to end on. Bittersweet, and though I do wish for closure to Guts’s, Casca’s, and Griffith’s story, I can at least begin to see how it was being set up for a really heartfelt and heart wrenching conclusion.

You're projecting. Muira still wrote this chapter.

Here is my brief summary of mangakas' messages to Kentarou Miura in Young Animal magazine.

Miura told Shizuya Wazarai in 2021 that he was making a final push toward the ending of Berserk.

Miura was planning to go on a round-the-world trip with Kouji Mori (mangaka) after he finished Berserk. They have been good friends for 40 years. They talked via phone, like once every 10 days until recently.

After retirement, Miura was planning to live with Mori and Mori's wife in Okinawa or Izu, both of which are known for seaside resorts in Japan.

Mori said he would have died or been in prison without Miura...

Miura and Mori gave advice about their manga with each other.

Miura insisted that Mori should draw a biography manga about their friendship.

Mori has announced in this latest Young Animal that he will fulfill this promise about the biography in the future.

Mori spent a lot of time living with Miura's family when they were in high school. He added that he might elaborate on it some day.

Miura said the title of the biography should be "M K" since both of them share the same first and last initial.

On top of that, Miura asked someone else to write a biography "novel" about them.

Mori says it must have been impossible for Miura to know he would pass away in the near future because he had been totally fine with his health.

Despite his good health, Miura talked about the biography plan more frequently than before. Mori has been wondering the reason until now..

Mori feels like Miura is staying by his side even now. Miura's mother told him that it is because they had been together for a long time.

Mori: Thank you, Miura. I'll always be with you.

Miura told Nico Nicholson: I hope each panel of my manga will be like a window through which my audience can see another world.

Miura's author comment went viral years ago; "I'm planning to cancel my mobile phone contract since nobody gets in touch with me."

After that, Takashi Hoshi and Miura started sending emails to each other. They sometimes visited a cafe and spa in Tokyo together.

10 years ago, Miura and Katsu Aki talked about whether manga industries would get surpassed by games or videos.

Chika Umino: Every time I met Miura, he gave me sweets as a gift. He was always smiling and I've never seen his grumpy face. Next time we meet, I'd like to talk a lot about manga.

Sorry to break it to you, but you haven't awakened telepathy skills yet. Art isn't about execution of points in a script.

    You don't like present arc?

Berserk is one of my favourites for sure, and this arc is no worse than other arcs either. Other than the building up suspense on where the story was leading towards. I had feeling that with Guts was starting to get over Grifith and getting ready to diverge onto a new path, with Casca healed and all. I was worried the story would lose the edge and become dilluted, in future. So in my eyes this was gonna be challenging path for Miura for continuing Berserk story.

That's why I much prefer Berserk ending while it's still greatest, over it being continued by remaining team. Because the other option is a clear cut downhill slope.

Whenever would come couldn’t have been worse than the boat arc or parts of Gut’s flashback.

Here is a spoiler summary of Miura's video interview in Berserk Expo this month.

I was hoping Miura and Oda would have a talk since they both said they couldn't help drawing in detail and jokingly described such a habit as illness. They hope(d) for a round-the-world trip after serialization..

    Spoiler:
The story of Berserk is 60-80% done.

Miura started wrapping up the story toward the end.

Guts will enter the fight against Griffith, but it will not be settled with only one opportunity, implying they will fight multiple times.

Guts has been spending his journey with comrades such as Schierke and Farnese etc, but such a journey will be over after the Elfhelm arc. (*Maybe they'll split up and go to separate places for some reason..)

Berserk will enter a "surprising" new phase that will be told along with the story about Skull Knight.

Miura said all of his audience were like comrades.
