Wow, Noah's Notes was...not good. And in our current climate, how could VIZ go through with publishing it?

Armed assailants breaking into a school, sticking a gun into a girl's mouth, the teacher leaving her to die? It's all pretty tasteless to publish just weeks after what happened in Parkland. The author is farther removed from US issues, but VIZ should have known better.

I'm guessing the using of guns in school premises? Or the disfranchinsing of females as shallow and just interested in love and marriage? I'm just at the halfway point tho.

Dunno about japan but here american shootings are seen as something to be made fun of in a "haha those stupid american again" while being ignored most of the time i mean how much does the average american know about the war in Yemen? Sure maybe Viz should have known better but we dont even know who decides these things, could have been jump staff just vetoing and pushing stuff they see as having potential in the states.

Noah's Notes was super interesting, and this just based in the raw, translated must be even better, really hoping that this time Haruto gets his deserved success.

Also, his art really improved from Mononofu.

I thought Noah Notes was great and really original. Im a bit sick dealing with monster/exorcist manga.

I don't think the school thing was a big deal because it was heavily exaggerated. I mean its run thing if it was really similar, but the dude literally crashed into the school in a helicopter. It was comedic.

With regard to gender, its not as bad as Dr.Stone.

    I am still curious

Not necessarily and I don't think it's bad personally, but some have criticized the design of characters.

That kind of thing happens literally every month in the USA now, if Viz needed to wait a couple of weeks after a shooting to publish it they would never have a chance.
Seriously, you guys either need to accept shootings as an american way of life or do something about it. It's like Hajro said, outside of the USA that has saddly just became a punchline.

On another note, that Kuragane Kai cover looks good.
Has anyone here checked it out or know if there's anyone translating it?
