Anyway there is a very long time before One Piece ends, current successful series have time to be older.
Rurouni Kenshin was some 270 or so chapters long...

At this point I rather have series that dont even make the 500 chapters mark, but are well written through their entire run, than stuff like naruto, bleach, ft etc. that are just being dragged out just for milking without the authors having the ability to sustain a consistently well written plot.

You need mass attraction to milking that long, very few mangas ever managed to do that. It's their credit...

Dont worry, I am putting some mad credit and respek on their names for being so bad, ppl still liking them, and all the milking. xD

Too many long-running series filling up the ToC makes it hard for new series to find their footing and not just get axed after a couple of months. Turnover is good, it keeps the magazine fresher.

I seriously doubt One Piece's eventual successor as flagship has debuted yet, but One Piece won't be passing the torch for nearly another decade so there's tons of time. A ton of new series will debut between now and when One Piece ends, and a few of them will turn into big hits.

Finally a guy who swore to himself to buy each volume of SJ since Kochikame came out, can finally stop after 40 years.
Think how many volumes he must have stored over that span of time.

Kochikame ended on such nice numbers. 20 volumes and 40 years.

Does anyone know at what chapter it will end?

I think it'll be chapter 1967. However, if you count special chapters, then there should be more.

I barely know anything about Kochikame, yet I still feel sad...

Makes me wonder what'll happen when One Piece ends.

Actually, it was most likely about Kochikame.

Yeah after the Kochikame ending announcement it sounds a lot more likely for it to be about that.
but i first thought it was about the Godzilla film.

Why would it be about Godzilla? Did something surprising happen with it?

    O.o

I do feel kind of sad, like when lonesome George died of old age. Jump is going to change.
