It's obviously ridiculus reading/watching now the first seasons, but I don't look at it like an actual football manga, it´s more like dragon ball to me, because of the insane shoots (TIGER SHOOTORA!!) that look more like a kame hame ha with a ball inside of it.

Anyway, those were my 2 cetns. Watch Giant Killing if you want to see real football.
Come on, Tiger Shot was just like Super Saiyan 1. Don't forget about its evolutions Neo Tiger Shot and Raiju Shot. Also, we have Drive Shot, Razor Shot, Hayabusa Shot, Boomerang Shot, and whatever acrobatic move the Tachibana bros are doing...

Yep, like you said, if you want a realistic depiction of football then forget Captain Tsubasa (I support the GK recommendation, too bad the scanlation stalled, but at least there's the anime), it's just ridiculous mindless shounen fun for kids.

But still, for all the silliness CT has, there's no denying the huge impact it has on Japanese football as a whole. Not only for Japanese National team players like Hidetoshi Nakata, but even great foreign players like Zidane, Del Piero, Totti admits of watching Tsubasa as a kid and that it inspires them to play soccer. So yeah, no matter how much I make fun of it, I still greatly respects Captain Tsubasa for at least that.

No, definitely not. I forgot whether it's in Shonen Sunday or Magazine (always mixed up those two, probably Magazine though) but it's definitely not in Jump.

If they can only be from JUMP, then Toriko rounds off the big 3. Outside of JUMP, fairy Tail would still be the third.

I was so pumped to see that Bleach was in the bottom 5 and Oumagadoki was getting a colorspread, but Beelzebub is below Bleach.

The top five manga in Japan is something like One Piece, Kimi ni Todoke, Naruto, and then I think Fairy Tail and Fullmetal Alchemist.

It's a romance shojo so I wouldn't really know. Though the male lead kinda looks like Luffy to me.

Sorry, no one's coming to their senses just yet. Naruto is still 2nd in Jump and Crossword was referring to the overall manga popularity.

This has been said so many times in so many places I would have expected someone to say it by now, but those lists posted on Shounen Jump's official site aren't the Table of Contents. They're just a list of what mangas are in the next issue and what have color pages and stuff. They're in a random order.

It's random order like Kewl said, you can find the list on the official JUMP site.
